View Full Details of Marion Lauder HouseI have visited on several occasions and have always been very impressed with the management and staff. I have personal experience over the years of supporting my family in various places of care and I have learnt that the most important part of this whole process is the attitude towards the service user from every member of staff. Marion Lauder House has recently upgraded the reception area adding a delightful coffee lounge which gives the opportunity to make friends and a feeling of "going out for a treat".
Lovely staff who are always helpful in difficult situations.
My husband is looked after by very caring staff.
The charge nurses were excellent as well as all the carers. If you asked a question you got the answer you needed, they had time for everyone. Can't thank them enough.
Grandad has been here for a few months now. The staff and management have been great in trying different things to help him get settled, which he now is. Being able to walk away from a visit without having to worry about where we have left him means the world to us. Thank you.
Mum has been at Marion Lauder for almost a year now, and it was definitely the best decision we made. The management is very welcoming and always happy to talk. The staff are incredible, they work incredibly hard making all residents as comfortable and happy as they can. The home is clean, the cleaners go around every day. The laundry is collected daily and promptly returned. The activities team are amazing, they always encourage the residents to participate in the day's activities. They alternate the activities regularly to please individual residents' preferences. The meals always look inviting. We would definitely recommend Marion Lauder as a great home for your loved ones to join. They keep their residents safe, and each resident is treated with dignity and given 100% care.
My dad seems very content living here. All the staff are caring.
Mum has been treated very well with respect and dignity. Mum is well-liked and loved by all members of staff. Mum is happy and content here. Mum struggles with new members of staff, she is pleasant and smiley but her personal care. She will hold her bowel movements as not comfortable with certain people. Mum is a very slow eater and staff show patience with Mum but tea time is a struggle as Mum is getting cranky and fussy.
I find the staff to be very helpful and caring. It is a demanding role and everyone is always attentive to the residents. Mum has settled in well and seems calmer. The staff take time to explain to relatives what's going on with Mum's care, which is very much appreciated.
We are extremely grateful to Marion Lauder for the care and consideration they give our mum whilst she is a resident there. Mum is quite difficult because of her dementia, but every single member of staff are brilliant with her and know her by name. Every time we go she is doing something different including watching a pantomime which I enjoyed myself!
I can see that the residents are all cared for in what is a difficult environment. Each resident is included and treated respectfully and with dignity. The place is clean, the food looks good, and the staff are always lovely.
Friendly and caring staff and management.
In general, my mum is very happy in her home (Marion Lauder House). I do see my mum a lot and have got to know most staff. I can talk to the staff about my mum and the staff are very good at listening and acting upon any queries we may have. I think the staff at Marion Lauder are amazing and need gold medals, it's such a shame that the caring profession is undervalued in this country.
The staff are always very welcoming and helpful to relatives when they visit. They show respect and kindness to the residents when looking after them. Meal times and the general day-to-day activities seem to be well-staffed and carried out in an orderly but friendly manner. The environment is bright, cheerful and clean. Overall, the residents always look well cared for. Thank you.
Everyone is very helpful and caring.
I was very comforted and reassured by feeling my husband was always safe and treated very kindly by all staff. The attendance of nursing and medical staff was constant and I felt trust that I would always be informed of any concerns.
Previous reviews would have been very different from this one. They would have been much more negative. I would have struggled to write anything positive as have had several issues with personal care and other things for my husband. There are new owners and a new manager. If what they say is implemented with future plans, then it sounds like things will be on the right track. The place does need a coat of paint but have been advised this is on the list with many other things that will hopefully bring Marion Lauder House back to the “outstanding" CQC rating. The majority of staff I have met are lovely and deserve credit for working in such difficult situations. The new owners are very approachable and fair, they listen and feedback where necessary. Met the new manager today, she seems very experienced and has great ideas. All sounds very positive going forward and really hope the new plans work.
Mum has received brilliant care and has settled in well. I am happy with the care she has received and the support she has been given as Mum can sometimes be a handful. Just a big thank you to the team who look after her.
I visit my father every day when I am able. I feel like part of the family at this care home now. There are staff members who I have become very friendly with. They take excellent care of my dad, even though he is not always easy to deal with. The whole team are really nice to know, the kitchen staff always happy to make my dad and all of his visitors a cup of tea and a biscuit. The nurses are really good and I trust them with my dad's healthcare. The carers are brilliant, even the maintenance team an admin staff are all fantastic.
I always find the staff welcoming and obliging. My cousin is well cared for in all aspects of his needs
