My son was a resident of Broughton House for over 2 years (almost). On his death and also the care he received previously, was very good. It has it's hiccups but that was expected. The week beginning his death was a lovely experience with all the staff. They were brilliant. They all made it easier than it would have been. Thank you all very much.
Outstanding care home. Wonderful staff who looked after my mum who has since died. Very caring staff, from the ladies on reception to the nurses, care staff and the manager, who is amazing. My dad is still a resident in Broughton House and so well looked after. He looks so well and is very much at home in the dementia unit. We are able to wheel him to the local park and sit with him in the lovely gardens or reception area. Such a clean, bright, friendly place. I would definitely recommend it. The links with the military are wonderful and all the memorabilia.
I have been a resident for six months and I have been extremely pleased with all aspects of the home. The staff are very kind, caring and competent. It's like a home from home.
My father moved to Broughton House in November 2023, having been discharged from hospital, having been poorly treated and cared for by the previous home he resided in. His move to Broughton house was such relief, as my father's dementia was worsening by the day, however the staff at Broughton House went above and beyond to accommodate and look after my father, for which I can not thank them enough. My Father sadly passed away in July of 2024 and again all the staff could not do anymore to make him as comfortable as they could, again for which I am extremely grateful. Again relating back to my father's first care home and Broughton house, there was no comparison, Broughton House are in a league of there own with regards to both facilities and care. Thank you
My husband came, initially, for respite care. We were so impressed with the facilities, staff and surroundings that we made his stay permanent. The building is not like a typical/traditional care home. There is no cooking or any unpleasant smells, the whole place has a thoughtful, 'cared for' atmosphere. Staff are kind, efficient, respectful and professional.
My husband enjoyed his time at Broughton House. He loved the care the staff gave, the facilities and the food.
Management gave my very sick 83-year-old, mother with Alzheimer's, 28 days' notice to leave. This was clearly self-preservation, from the family logging too many complaints - Broughton House is under review by social services for breaching safeguarding policies. Staff informed me, that they had been engineering complaints about my family, to help remove my mother. Management also made threats to the family, leaving us vulnerable. The family are no threat whatsoever, it's all engineered by the management who only care about show-casing the home. Behind those lift doors, it's a different story. My mother broke the same wrist twice, in a 16-week period, due to neglect. Staff unable to confirm how she broke it. The first time, she was left for 3 weeks before going to A&E for an X-ray, where it was confirmed broken. Hostility from staff is unbearable, leaving my mother in tears on visits and family not wanting to visit, due to the atmosphere. The multitudinous falls, cuts and bruises my mother has encountered, have been devastating.
Well-maintained facility with friendly and efficient staff caring for the residents. Keep up the good work!
Care for Dad exceptionally well - Dad has dementia. Not enough staff though. High turnover - different all the time.
Since my father-in-law arrived here he has settled really well. His care has been first-class. Everyone is happy to help.
My dad went into Broughton House Care Home on respite when my sister went on holiday. He settled so well, so quickly he stayed there. His independence increased, his contribution was valued and sought and he went on all the trips. The household care staff there made him feel like he was family. The night staff were especially good company for him as they would share stories about Africa where Dad had lived in his younger years and so enjoyed it. They all made him feel like he was their relative and he had great friends amongst the other residents and relatives. It was very fitting and important to us that when he was diagnosed with incurable blood cancer, that the nurses made sure he was not in any pain or distress and the kindness of the care staff went up a gear. Neither me or my sister were there when he actually passed away but it was fitting that the night team, who he thought the world of, were there with him. It's a fabulous place with an incredible care philosophy.
Uncle has been a resident since April this year. The welcome we get here is that the staff were dedicated, very genuine, who all enjoyed their roles caring for the residents. Uncle's room is small comfortable and modern which he prefers. Shower and toilet are ideal. Uncle enjoys his showers. Food I'm told is OK, fish and chips and Saturday breakfast are his favourites. Uncle joins in all the activities and trips out, Wednesday church is his favourite. His hair and feet are well-maintained and do the laundry daily. Residents are kept motivated with visits from Salford Red Devils on the fire cadets from Bolton this month. All this gives those at home Peace of Mind.
My father went into Broughton House for 6 weeks while I went into hospital for hip surgery. After a week he decided he was so happy he decided he wanted to stay permanently. Two years later he is still very settled. The staff are excellent. No complaints at all.
Visiting a friend I was so impressed by the home. Friendly caring staff, and modern, clean and well maintained premises. Staff checked in regularly on me and my friend and nothing too much trouble. It was a pleasure to spend time there and it gave me great reassurance about the care my friend is receiving.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. They take great care of residents and engage with them. The facility is always spotless and there is good security. The grounds are a pleasure to sit out in.
My wife and I visit my father twice a week and each time we go the staff are always cheerful, smiling and extremely helpful. We are extremely satisfied with the care and attention my father receives and would not hesitate to recommend Broughton House to anyone. More important than our feelings are that my dad is happy and well looked after.
From the first visit, the help and welcome was unbelievable The reception staff are fantastic. The management team couldn't do enough to help with paperwork, finance etc. We as a family absolutely love this place, especially the encouragement they give Dad is amazing, Thank you.
Excellent service, caring staff and professional. My grandad loves the stay.
Really nice building and facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble, what more could you ask for.
I volunteered at Broughton House with my team from work. We helped put up Christmas decorations, chatted to residents and organised games. We met several members of the team who were all incredible and the residents were clearly happy, comfortable and extremely well looked after. The staff really do care. They knew all of the residents names, spent time talking to them and made sure their needs were met. The facility itself is incredibly impressive. Modern, comfortable and clean with every facility available. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Broughton House to any family looking for care. If and when I'm ever in the position of needing such care for my family members, Broughton House will be high on my list. A wonderful place.
