View Full Details of The Fountains Care CentreOverall very happy with service provided. Staff on Lowry very caring, attentive, compassionate (days). Activities would have been marked as poor but on Wednesday (11/12) was a huge success and big improvement, much laughter on Lowry. Occasionally disappointed with night staff as I can come in some morning and my wife has not been attended to by night staff.
I think the unit and staff are excellent, caring and professional and give all residents constant care and full attention at all times. I myself have witnessed all as these statements and I'm proud to say it's a homely and inviting atmosphere for myself in my visits.
Mum has been at The Fountains since 2021 and sadly passed away on 26th August 2024. During Mum's time at The Fountains we have shared a few difficult times with management and staff but none as difficult as Mum's passing. I cannot praise everyone enough for the way we were treated over the long weekend leading up to Mum's passing. We spent the weekend with Mum and the staff were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. We were given advice, guidance, love and support which helped us immensely. The care they gave to Mum at this sad time was 'second to none' and Mum passed away peacefully. Thank you to each and every one at The Fountains. Carry on your good work
Cannot thank the staff at The Fountains enough for all the care, kindness and compassion they show Mum. Mum recently had to move care homes due to a care home closure, which caused a lot of unrest and upset with the family, however, we could not have wished for a better placement. The bedrooms are lovely & homely, Mum actually sleeps in her bed - something that she rarely did previously. The lounges are airy and bright, and the food/choice of food is very good. What makes The Fountains so good is the staff - reception staff, management, domestic staff, and wonderful carers, everyone clearly enjoys looking after the residents and ensuring their needs are met. They know just 'how to handle' the residents and make them feel safe. Nothing is too much trouble, even when we phoned every day when Mum first went there, we were never made to feel a nuisance and were encouraged to ring and check on Mum knowing how worrying it can be for families placing Mum in a new setting.
My mum moved here from another care home 6 months ago and the change in her is wonderful, she engages with both staff and other residents in the lovely communal area. After her initial settling in teething problems due to her dementia, I am very pleased that she has adapted so well. The home is still undergoing some refurbishment but all that is positive and makes the environment very pleasing.
After returning from hospital with pneumonia which it wasn't. She was just left to fend for herself unless we moaned about it, I came in the Tuesday before mam passed on the Friday. She was slumped at the dining table with no response, tried picking her up and she was a dead weight, then the main care nurse said there was something wrong and took her blood pressure which was 68 over 51, then she decided to phone the doctor, by this time mam was none coherent, went to the hospital with a strangulated hernia and died 4 days later.
My nana went to The Fountains as she could no longer cope when my grandad passed away. She has now settled in well and although she doesn't normally socialise easily, she has already made a close friend. It is so nice visiting her now, she looks happier and has started to eat proper meals again. The staff and management team are so friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
An absolute pleasure to have my grandad in The Fountains Care Home. He was looked after to the highest of standards.
The Fountains have been amazing for my father he was looked after nothing was too much trouble. He passed away on 14th March 2024 and the staff were excellent throughout. A big thank you to all.
I looked at a few homes in the area as I was looking for a certain special feeling which I knew I would get when I found the right one. On going to The Fountains, it was instant. There was laughing and joking in the reception area where I was welcomed by a friendly smile. The receptionist was laughing with a staff member and another visitor. It immediately felt like Home. My mother-in-law moved in the following week. She was always the life and soul of our family but due to becoming unwell had lost her sparkle. But, after only a few weeks, she has blossomed. The care and attention she has received makes my heart swell. It makes me and my son smile each time we visit. Please, if you are worried or wondering is this home the right home for your loved one, then don't hesitate. It has definitely eased any worries we had.
Amazing place! My auntie was looked after so well at The Fountains Care Centre. The staff and management went above and beyond to make her stay the best it could be. They are so caring and want the best for everyone in the home. I would recommend the Fountains Care Centre to anyone.
Poor. Removed my Mum from here as the standard of care fell below basic. Dirty bed linen, cutlery, lack of stimulation, missing clothes and fiddle items. Half-eaten soap in her room. My list is endless and management and staff are not at all interested in any concerns we raised. I would not recommend this home whatsoever.
My uncle stayed in the care home on respite. He was well looked after, staff were friendly, treated my uncle with dignity throughout his stay. Would recommend this home to anyone. Management are approachable. The home has been under refurbishment and is ongoing and looks very nice. If my uncle needed respite I would like him to stay in The Fountains.
My grandad has not been at The Fountains long and I can honestly say I can't fault the care he receives. I love how the staff are with my grandad. He was quiet when he first moved into the home as he was nervous but the management and staff have been amazing with him and me as his family. Thank you so much for all you have done. We're looking forward to the events going on in the home.
Staff are all very friendly and the staff who greet you on entering the care home make you feel very welcome. Upon entering The Fountains you get a sense of calm and peacefulness and no matter where you go you are always greeted with a smile. Staff seem to genuinely care for the residents and there are activities to stimulate their minds and keep them active where possible. The manager is very approachable and very proactive in dealing with requests or queries. This care centre definitely tries to ensure the residents and their families are completely happy with the service they receive.
Thank you for taking care of my grandma. Nothing has been too much trouble and the team at the home have delivered excellent care and support to not only my grandma but to us as a family. I can’t thank you enough! The manager is an incredible lady who has been so supportive and makes my grandma's day every single day. Great home, great people and such a warm loving home. What more can you ask for!
The care centre is clean and the staff are all very nice and friendly. The residents look content and well looked after. My mum said the place is lovely and the staff are lovely. She likes the food and has started eating properly for the first time in ages. Overall impression 10/10.
Home is excellent the care staff are fantastic and do a wonderful job. The new facilities that have recently opened are great and even watched a film in the cinema room which dad really enjoyed. He also likes the on-site pub. The manager was really approachable and helpful.
I'm really happy with the home. The staff are caring and considerate and they look after my mum so well. The new owners are investing in the facilities and the recent refurbishment looks fantastic. I highly recommend the home.
Lovely home, staff caring and polite. They are also very helpful. Lots of activities to do and the food looks tasty. The manager goes out of her way to help you understand what is a new experience of putting my dad in care. I would highly recommend this home.
