View Full Details of Parkhill Nursing HomeBefore going into detail I must state that generally Parkhill Nursing Home is a good care home. However, over the last year there have been concerning quality issues mainly by short-term (or agency) employees. This resulted in a large turnover of managers/staff which is unsettling to residents. The 2023 CQC report reflects this with a range of categories falling into 'Requires Improvement'. That said there have been many positive changes in 2023, including investment in improving facilities (particularly safety) with communal areas refurbished and decorated. The food is generally, appealing nutritious and appetising with many years of a 5-star food hygiene rating. Some efforts have been made to vary the menu, but this is not always easy to implement. Many of the experienced staff are an absolute credit to the establishment being cheerful, professional and caring despite a difficult few years. Here's hoping Parkhill overcomes the issues and returns to excellent standards we all want in 2024.
Stunning views located around the home. Friendly and calm atmosphere from within. Lovely little features within the lounges and dining rooms give it a homely feel. Currently under renovation! Infection control is maintained at a high standard. Residents are always put first which is shown throughout. Management are very supportive of residents, family members and staff. Care is provided at a high standard throughout the day and night, warm friendly faces are provided as soon as you walk into the home. Showrooms available to view if rooms are available. 12 rooms located on the nursing unit, 14 rooms located on the residential middle floor, and 6 rooms located on the top floor.
My mum has been in Parkhill Nursing Home for about a year and recently I have been very impressed with the care the staff have shown her. The staff and managers always keep me informed of any changes and I'm impressed with the changes.
My uncle has been in the home for about 12 months, he seems really happy and settled. The staff seem very kind and considerate while remaining professional regarding my uncle's personal and medical requirements. Now we are able to visit inside, the home is clean and both well organised and run. I would certainly recommend Parkhill home to anyone looking for a small home that strives to provide a comfortable safe environment. Thank you for the peace of mind.
Lovely caring staff nothing too much trouble and treat the residents like family The home could do with a lick of paint and modernising but good staff are more important than decoration Food seems okay, would definitely recommend you have a look at this home.
The home is great, friendly and welcoming. There are daily activities to keep mum stimulated. The staff are always available to answer questions and are very friendly. They made a huge effort with all the residents on Christmas Day which was heartwarming to see.
Parkhill was my cousin's personal choice of nursing home based on her previous knowledge of local care facilities. I too knew of the high standards offered by Parkhill and I am delighted with the standard of care and attention carried out the by the management and staff. My cousin is very happy living there.
The care and compassion my mother has received has been excellent as she has been at Parkhill for 7 years. The overall standards are excellent. My mother is always dressed and cared for immaculately.
This is a well-managed nursing and care home with staff that puts its residents first. During lockdown, it has kept its residents safe from the virus while allowing some highly protected window visits as well as video calling facility. Choosing a care home is an emotional and difficult task. I visited eight different ones before deciding that Parkhill was the best one.
My friend has been a resident of Parkhill for over 8 years during that time he has been treated with the utmost respect and dignity. All the staff treat my friend as a member of a big family and share humorous moments with him he has been very happy at Parkhill Nursing Home.
An amazing place! Staff really care about the residents. The place smells lovely and clean! Everyone loved my uncle, and they made his last year a happy, chilled time! Food is home-cooked and fresh. Rooms are lovely and clean! Staff really do care!
Parkhill care home is in a nice semi-rural area. The staff are very kind, patient and pleasant to talk to.
The first impressions of Parkhill were - small but homely and warm; which is true, but it's so much more! Residents are treated with respect and love and each individual's needs are catered for differently. The staff were extremely caring and sensitive in the settling in period and informed us of any concerns and were very supportive and helpful. The staff soon got to know the resident's little ways and preferences. Mum is very sociable and loves to chat to other residents and sing along and dance in her chair whenever there is any entertainment or old CD's are playing as they often are. Residents have access to regular entertainment, hairdressers, manicure and massage treatments, as well as quizzes and gentle chair exercises if they wish to join in. Overall, mum and all the family have been very impressed by the care here and would not hesitate to recommend Parkhill.
My mum has been a resident at Parkhill Nursing Home since March 2018. The family were anxious to find the very best care for mum that would meet all her needs and after some quite extensive research we decided on Parkhill and we have not been disappointed. The staff are professional, caring and friendly and always treat mum with respect and dignity. Should there be any issues we are contacted promptly. There are various planned activities during the week and mum particularly enjoys the guest artists who come along to the home on Fridays. She sings along to the 1940's music and remarkably that she remembers all the words! It's wonderful to see her face light up. With help and support of the kind and dedicated staff at Parkhill, we feel confident that mum is in safe hands.
My sister and I have experienced nothing but supportive and helpful care for our mother aged 95. She was admitted to Parkhill following a transfer from hospital care after breaking her leg. She took up residence at the end of October 2017. Our mother suffers from vascular dementia and total loss of physical mobility. The staff, all of them, treat us (me and my family) with care and respect and communicate well regarding her welfare.
My husband has been in Parkhill for a year now and he has been looked after by the staff excellently. They greet him with smiles, kind words, nothing is too much trouble for them. They are like family to him. He receives 24hr care so I know he is safe. There is always a nurse on site which reassures me that he is looked after well. The food is good and varied and they will gladly deal with any dietary needs. The home is nicely decorated, clean and warm. I can now relax knowing that his needs are catered for so well. Thank you.
My mum is looked after really well. The staff and management are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is always kind and patient with my mum who has Alzheimer's.
Having looked around for a good home for my brother, we chose Parkhill and what a very good choice. He has been in there for 12 months now and is very happy and the care is excellent. The staff always have time for you and always pleasant. A warm, friendly and caring home.
My brother-in-law has received first class care since he went to Parkhill Nursing Home. He has had a few serious conditions whilst there and but for the quick and professional care, I don't think he would still be with us. His family and I are very grateful.
First experience of any home and I am very pleased with the whole package. The staff are kind and treat the residents with respect and friendliness, they also are good with the visitors. The food is good and they do a buffet for birthdays. The home is in lovely surroundings and has tables outside if the weather is nice. Cannot praise this home enough, very impressed.
