View Full Details of Haighfield Nursing HomeHi I just want to say how welcome Haighfield made Mum and I feel, the staff are caring, kind and friendly. It's a great comfort to me knowing when I leave Mum in the home she is so well looked after. They have lots of activities going on in the lounge, unfortunately my Mums not been up to that but it's great that they try and motivate and stimulate the residents.
I just want to say how thrilled the family was regarding the level of care and attention afforded to our mother. The staff constantly provided a thoughtful, considerate and homely provision of such care. Residents are involved in activities to ensure meaning to their stay. Extra attention was provided at birthdays, Easter and Christmas including musical entertainment at these times. I would not therefore hesitate to promote Haighfield Nursing Home for anyone seeking appropriate care for loved ones.
Mum was treated with love, care and compassion throughout her stay at Haighfield from October 2023 onwards. The attention to detail in dressing Mum and dietary needs were second to none. All staff interacted with Mum encouraging her in activities and had many great chats with her, spending time with her and other residents. A massive thank you to everyone on all teams at Haighfield.
Mum was treated with such care throughout her stay, which lasted 12 months longer than expected this is purely due to the fabulous care and love given to Mum, everyone showed respect and compassion and so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. On Mum's recent return from time in the hospital, staff came outside and greeted and welcomed Mum back home. All staff work very hard and our thanks go out to them.
All seems well. Patients are comfortable and safe. I do not see as many staff around as seems necessary to look after so many. The lady offering activities does her best to include everyone, though some are reluctant, she uses gentle persuasion to encourage them.
Mum has been at Haighfield for quite a while now. She had been in hospital and was quite ill when she moved in, but she has settled in ok. Given the challenges that the care sector is facing, it is good that the home has managed to retain a core group of staff that Mum knows (and who know her) and so there is a sense of continuity in her care and support. Staff are attentive and frequently pop in to chat with Mum. They have tried to encourage mum to use the lounge facilities and join in activities, but she has been reluctant to do so. Visiting arrangements are open and flexible, which is welcome, and we are able to have regular chats with the staff to discuss Mum's care when we need to.
My mother has settled in well. Staff are friendly and welcome. I am happy to know that my mother is safe and trusted with the respect she deserves.
Staff were rude and dismissive to various members of the family when visiting and asking any questions regarding care and pain relief. Despite numerous complaints to management and the management company, nothing changed. We were informed on more than one occasion that he was close to the end, at one stage being told he had stopped breathing and we needed to get there. Upon arrival, he was breathing and asking for drinks, not one member of staff was in sight. My father had been left alone and my niece had to go and find a member of staff, this caused a lot of upset to his wife who is also in poor health. The home is clearly understaffed. There were lots of occasions when there wasn’t a member of staff on any of the floors and you would have to search for a carer or a nurse. Patients would resort to shouting for staff as buzzers were ignored. Other residents' clothes would be in his wardrobe including womenswear. Named items were also lost when sent to the laundry.
The home was clean and that's where the positives end. My family member was ignored when asking for pain relief. It could take anywhere between 30 minutes to 45 minutes for his buzzer to be answered to the point he informed his visitors there's no point calling because nobody comes and when they do they don't listen to me. His notes in his daily log also read the same. Safeguarding complaints upheld and investigated for late administration of pain medication. Basic hygiene was not carried out, and numerous requests for oral hygiene to be carried out by myself and a third-party medical specialist. His fingernails weren't trimmed until 4 weeks later due to me putting an email of complaint to the business manager. His sheets were dirty for days on end until a nurse who returned after 3 days off shift realised and replaced them. GP's instructions were ignored for the administration of end-of-life meds as the nurses believed they knew better, resulting in needless suffering for our loved one. Avoid!
Myself and my family are so pleased with the care my mum is receiving at Haighfield Nursing Home. Since she has been there (from mid-October 2021) we have been so happy to know she is being so well looked after. The staff are lovely and always welcoming when we visit and always keen to answer any questions we have. The home is very clean and welcoming with lovely lounges where the residents can gather. Thank you Haighfield for giving our family peace of mind knowing Mum is well looked after.
I would like to thank the managers and all the staff for the outstanding care my father received during the last 6 months of his life. We, my father and his family, faced challenging and difficult circumstances but we felt all the staff went out of their way to listen to our concerns. We received support and advice which made our visits as positive an experience as possible. My father was always clean and smart and the room tidy and fresh. All the staff were friendly, helpful and supportive. I know my father felt happy and at home at Haighfield, we were so comforted by the fact he was able to spend his final days there.
Mum was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity during her short stay in Haighfield. The staff were so caring, nothing was too much trouble for them. They helped mum settle in and were extremely welcoming whenever we visited. It was a privilege to meet all the staff there.
I can't recommend Haighfield Nursing Home enough. It is an absolute pleasure to visit my mum there, the staff are so welcoming, caring and simply amazing! They treat my mum with dignity and as an individual, something that hasn't happened in past experiences. I never have to worry about her any more when I can't be there because I know she is in very safe hands and with people who I trust. The home itself is extremely clean, fresh, well organised and has lovely facilities. I am kept up to date with how Mum is on a daily basis without the need to ask and there is a constant staff presence should anything be needed. All in all first class all round!
From the first ten minutes on entering we were greeted with polite, personable and professional staff. Helpful and caring above and beyond the call of duty and constantly ongoing on a daily and evening basis. The rooms were pleasant and warm. The staff, from top to bottom always checking on our needs.
My mother has been a resident at The Haighfield for many years. The home is well maintained, very clean and provides good food. Mum has dementia and can be demanding. I am very pleased with the standard of care Mum receives. After visiting Mum I come away from the home feeling she is well looked after. The management and all the staff are friendly, caring and supportive and they always have time for you.
Top quality nursery home. From staff to management, the utmost care, respect and dignity is given to residents and family.
From the day my mum moved to Haighfield Nursing Home, we have found the staff and management to be very caring and cheerful in what can be a very difficult job. Mum has found the meals to be very good and she has the opportunity to sit in very pleasant lounges. We find that the overall atmosphere is very welcoming and would certainly recommend Haighfield Nursing Home.
The staff are friendly. A clean place to live. Meets all my personal needs. They call the GP when needed (same day). Food OK, even with special needs.
We are very happy with the care Mother is receiving. The staff have been very friendly and helpful, willing to talk to us and sort out any problems which are usually very minor and easily dealt with. We can visit at any time, no restrictions. Easy to park.
I am very pleased with all the care my husband receives. He is always kept clean and comfortable. He is also well fed, the menus are on the table. The staff are very kind and he is encouraged to take part in all activities.
