View Full Details of Westwood Lodge Care CentreMy uncle is being looked after very well. The staff are excellent.
Our relative has had a good experience here. The home meets all of his needs. Our visits have always been positive.
I have found Westwood Lodge to be a wonderfully caring place for my mum to be. Mum is treated with care and compassion every day. Mum is respected at every step of the daily routine and looked after to a standard that is not attainable at home. The staff at Westwood Lodge are also very compassionate and caring to family members and always keep us well informed.
I want to put a complaint in because I'm not happy how my mum is being treated, it's been few times the staff forget to feed her. I'm so angry with this care home. If it was your mum being mistreated you won't be happy. Her clothes get robbed when she puts them in washer and they don't help her to walk at all. It's sick how they treat my mum. People go in her room while she is asleep and then they walk in, wake her up when they been told not to wake her up. They don't check on her, they leave her without asking if she wants a drink or not, it's wrong. I'll take it further about this care home if nothing is done about it, simples.
The staff are always very friendly and caring and pass on all relevant information. They look after my husband well and have a great relationship with him. They have a laugh and a joke with him. They always help when he is in need and do all they can to keep him comfortable. The staff in reception are amazing and helpful.
Dad has been in Westwood since February 2024 and we are very happy with his care. Mum was hospitalised in September and was declining rapidly. Westwood accepted Mum despite her short life expectancy. They specially redecorated a large room which allowed Dad to visit her in his wheelchair. Mum was admitted on 3rd October. She died peacefully on 6th Oct. Dad was able to visit her every day in her room. Previously they had been separated for 8 months. This brought great comfort to Dad. Her sons were with her throughout her final day. Westwood fed us so that we could provide a bedside vigil. The Westwood team treated Mum with great care and dignity throughout. The staff were enormously comforting to the family, especially on that last day. The resident nurse was super-efficient in getting Mum transferred to the local GP and he came to see her immediately on day 1. Westwood Lodge were perfect in every respect and for that we are hugely grateful. Their performance has helped us cope with our loss.
My dad was moved to Westwood after 9 weeks in hospital and his care was excellent. Communication with nursing staff was very positive and proactive and they understood my dad's needs. We know my dad was coming to the end of his life and he was kept clean, comfortable and treated with dignity and respect by the staff. Many thanks to you all!
My good friend went into your home recently and I have to say your care, staff, chief, food, entertainment, interaction with residents was your priority, cleanliness is outstanding, amazing, it felt so homely, friendly, for residents and their families and friends, nothing was too much, we were made to feel so welcome, we look forward to visiting our friend soon in this lovely environment. Thank you.
My dad was in Westwood Lodge for 16 months leading up to his death. The staff are incredible, without exception. They treated my dad with dignity and love and had a really good laugh with him. He had advanced dementia but was always included in any activities within the home and was taken out by staff when the weather was good. I cannot fault the level of care and I will be eternally grateful to all the staff.
I am the wife of the resident in Westwood Lodge Nursing Home who had a massive stroke which paralysed him down the left side and affected his left eye as well. He likes to keep to himself and will not mix with other residents and will not ask carers for help, only if he has to. He is a private person, which I think is down to him, he is very stubborn. I find carers very approachable.
Great staff and great food. Dad feels right at home here. We have no issues.
My mum has been in Westwood Lodge for 9 and a half years. There have been a few ups and downs over that time but I fully appreciate the many complex aspects that have to be managed with nursing care. However, overall during her time there, the staff have been very thoughtful and helpful, also reflected in comments my mum has made to me. They do their best to meet residents' needs.
Overall care home and staff are efficient and helpful. Well cared for.
My cousin has now resided at Westwood Lodge for a year. She now seems quite calm - she was very distressed at first, but the staff have a lot of patience, and they have now gained her trust. I am informed regarding her care, and I am always made to feel welcome. I think my cousin is far safer at Westwood Lodge than living on her own.
The staff here are all lovely, everytime I visit my friend they are always smiley and chatty, the home feels like a “home” my friend is very very happy here. The home is always lovely and clean and smells fresh
Can't fault the care all the staff gave to my mother during the two-week stay and was there nothing too much trouble for them. They are always helpful and the support they gave to us and her family. All spotless and clean thank you to all the staff at Westwood Lodge Care Home.
Very satisfied with all that is being done for my wife. All the staff are very caring and efficient.

My dad is in Westwood Lodge Care Centre. The staff are excellent they are lovely and thoughtful. Also if you go into other care homes they don't really smell nice but here it's spotless and always smells fresh. The cleaner is always cleaning and pops in to talk to Dad because he can't watch the telly because he's nearly blind she pops in for a quick chat. Would recommend, it's a lovely atmosphere and plenty going on for the residents.
Staff are always pleasant and helpful even during all the covid restrictions. They have done their very best to make sure you can keep in touch with your loved ones. Even the handyman is more than happy to help if he can and he, like the staff is always pleasant and polite. Could not ask for more.
