View Full Details of Finch ManorWhen my mum arrived at this home in 2021, I was a little taken back to how sterile the rooms felt but we did make it comfortable and homely for her. She had a decent end of life in the home and the staff where very caring and attentive. It has a very good standard of care and the facilities are decent. Food and hygiene is immaculate and you can have a look and see to what the kitchens which is impressive. Note, as all rooms are all on one floor, the staff don't have to split up to cover multiple floors which again adds to there being lots of staff and carers around. Would recommend this particular home for Dementia care.
My mum is a resident here. I am very shocked at how much my mum has deteriorated in this place. There are no activities here. Staff who have worked here for over 20 yrs have left. There is a big communication barrier between staff, service users and family. It relies on agency staff who don't know what they're supposed to be doing. Every time I've got in to visit my mum she is in bed. There is nothing going on for residents. There used to be activities in this place. Since last year it was stopped. Residents are dying of boredom in here, it is shocking. Read the CQC reports before you put your family members here. I am looking to have my mum removed from here. My mum has had a lot of falls in place in the last year and nothing has been done about it until I complained. I was only informed about 3 falls but my mum has had a lot more. The family are never updated. The rooms are very shabby, with broken door handle, and cracked toilet window.
My Dad was in respite for a short time with a view to long term, unfortunately, my Dad has passed. Although his stay was short the Staff were amazing, very professional, caring and supportive to my mum and I too. Everything my dad needed he had or they organised. I would just like to say a big thank you from the heart to all the Staff at Finch Manor.
We chose Finch Manor for our Mum's end of life care. The care she received was exemplary. All of the staff were professional, caring and empathetic not only to Mum but to myself and my sisters too, at a very difficult and emotional time. They treated Mum with respect, compassion and kindness and we would not hesitate in recommending them.
My father in law entered this house as part of his end of life care. From the outset, the staff and management were fantastic in every detail. He was treated with dignity and respect and the staff who assisted the family at the end were wonderful in every aspect. Big thanks to the admin at this time who guided us so well at the end. I would recommend this home.
My father received superb care from the staff at Finch Manor. They were professional, compassionate and caring and couldn't have treated my dad any better.
The home was very clean, warm and surprisingly odour free! The staff are very professional but very kind and caring, and friendly and approachable. My husband was very comfortable and well cared for. After each visit I made, I felt reassured in the treatment and nursing care he was receiving.
My father was admitted to Finch Manor as end of life and ultimately passed away on the 21st of November. The care my father received was outstanding. The staff were kind, considerate, knowledgable and very approachable. The home was spotless his laundry was washed and returned. The meals were to a very high standard and the consistency always met Dads needs we were updated by staff in relation to his condition and any changes. The infection control policy in relation to Covid was strictly adhered to. I would not hesitate to recommend Finch Manor to anyone. Thank you and well done.
My mum is looked after really well. The staff and management are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is always kind to my mum who has Alzheimer's.
Not enough staff to the ratio of residents. Needs vast improvement in training, none of the nursing staff are trained on taking bloods and only half of the carers are trained on catheter care. Management need to give regular feedback on health and well-being to families.
My Mum has been in Finch Manor Nursing Home for 9 years, one of the longest residents to be in the Home. Since the home was taken over back in February last year, the home has improved tremendously, the Management team are very approachable and hold an open door policy. Mum is now on an allocated unit and although some of the staff have moved with her she is still very well looked after. Even though the décor is a little tired, the care is very good.
My dad was at Finch Manor only for a short time, he passed away within a couple of days of arriving, he was on unit 4 and although initially, I wasn’t impressed, it was one of the best decisions we made as a family. We were treated incredibly well at a difficult time, staff were sensitive and caring and could not do enough for my dad and the rest of the family. I also observed the way fellow service users where treated and the caring nature they had towards them, can’t thank them enough. Well done to all the staff for doing an amazing job and for making our final days with our dad a special time.
My mother-in-law resided at Finch Manor for 8 months. Any concerns that we may have had at the beginning were soon laid to rest. The care that she was given was excellent, the staff treat residents with respect and compassion. She wasn't always easy to care for and her behaviour could be very challenging at times. She was always clean, with her hair done and clean clothes on. She had a nice room which was spacious, it was always clean with clean bedding. The food was lovely, homemade with plenty of choices for everyone's needs. The staff were always very welcoming and helpful from management and office to the carer's, over time we got to know some of them well. This is a lovely care home and it provided us with the EMI nursing that we found ourselves needing. We would like to thank all the staff at Finch Manor especially the care staff, these people do a brilliant job. They care for our loved ones at a time when we can no longer do it.
Since Lotus have taken over the service of care my Nan receives is fantastic, I cannot fault any of the members of staff, there is 1 member of staff (a carer) who goes the extra mile as I can’t mention names, she should be extremely proud they way in which she looks after the residents, also management of the home are brilliant, always willing to lend an ear also want the best for the residents staff and family members. One particular member of staff is fantastic, gives great advice and has brilliant knowledge of how residents should be looked after, I am extremely happy with all the staff and their hard work Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
My father resided in Finch Manor for 6 months, but in that time was treated with respect and compassion by staff who always made us welcome and involved us at all times. The staff were brilliant who really need more recognition. Even at end of life. We cannot thank all involved enough for their care and compassion. Thankyou.
I would like to recognise all of the staff at Finch Manor who cared for our Dad. They do not get the credit that they deserve and over the last 6 months have made us feel more than welcome at all times, updating us on dads condition and behaviour and looking after our lovely dad when we couldn’t. Dads condition meant that his behaviour was sometimes challenging and they cared for him and kept him safe. The facilities are good and there is plenty of room for privacy and space for the residents to be by themselves in a quieter part if they want it. The staff at Finch manor were always friendly and welcoming and our visits were enjoyable, you were never made to feel in the way or that you were a nuisance and they welcome you to visit at any time. I want to thank all of the staff both evening and daytime staff as they have a very difficult job to do and I hope that they know how much they are needed and appreciated.
My sister has Vascular Dementia and has been a resident at Finch Manor Nursing Home for almost 10 years. Whilst there have been changes in ownership over this period, I am happy to say that my sister, who is 81 years old this month, is very content and feels safe in Finch Manor. It offers her comfort in the knowledge that the staff will look after her needs, much in the same way as they have done in the past. Having resided in two care homes prior to this in 2007 in the Southend of Liverpool, there is no comparison as she was unhappy in both establishments. New ownership commenced on 16th February 2018. Speaking on behalf of my sister, I was delighted when I heard on this date that the new owner had appointed a home manager, who now leads an experienced management team. Even though only a little over 4 months have elapsed, it has made a huge difference in this short timescale.
My sister is a service user here and has been in care for 11 years, she has been at Finch Manor for 2 years. When she first arrived here, it was ok but slowly declined, staff never stayed, agency nurses all the time. My sister has mental health needs so constant change was an issue, the then manager was a complete waste of time, not a bit interested in the welfare of her residents or staff. I am very happy to say this all changed, earlier this year, when management changed, oh and what a change it has been, it is now a pleasure to visit and everyone seems happy. It’s clean and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the manager and another carer, the door is always open. My sister is so much more settled, and I feel I can walk away from my visits with a much lighter attitude.
