View Full Details of Cressington CourtCressington Court care home is a fabulous facility. A family member has just had 3 weeks of respite he has dementia and lewy bodies. The staff team could not have been more supportive of him. Family members who visited Cressington always had a positive word to say. Staff are happy and quick to oblige and speak to family members. Service users' individual rooms are clean and warm. This is the 2nd Lotus care home I have used and would highly recommend them to any family looking for a caring supportive environment. Although CQC has highlighted some operational concerns in Cressington. Always look at the quality of the care which is second to none provided by Lotus Care.
My mum has been in Cressington Court for nearly two years. I cannot thank the friendly staff enough for my mum's last week alive. They couldn’t have done enough to make her comfy and give her the dignity she deserved at end of her life. We as a family were asked constantly did we want a drink or something to eat or even if we wanted to talk. We were very touched as Mum always had a smile for the staff and us when we visited. Sadly my father only died 5 months ago or he would have been with her but they are together now. Thank you very much you were like a family to her.
My father died at Cressington Court Care Home in September 2021 having been a resident there for over a year; he was admitted during the pandemic. Our family found the care, courtesy and professionalism of managers, clinical staff and personnel at all levels to be outstanding. Despite working under great pressure due to the pandemic, managers were never too busy to answer queries and liaise over every aspect of care. The kindness, empathy and sensitivity displayed when my father was at end of life made a desperately sad time easier to bear. He died surrounded by love and we will always be grateful for that. We were enormously impressed by Cressington's high standards.
My mother is a resident here and I have no issues with the general carers at this home who tend to my mothers day to day needs. In fact, I would go so far as to say one or two of them are very good. However, the management are another story. They never answer their telephone and I'm talking for days on end, they are rude when they do answer and appear to be power crazy. I understand in current times how important for procedures to be adhered but whenever myself or a family member try to book a visit, (Covid permitting) it takes some days to actually speak to a member of staff. Sometimes it appears that agency staff are the only ones answering. Staff tell you to ring the manager's office, which is a joke. If you are unlucky enough to get one particular lady be prepared for her rudeness. This lady will stress how difficult it is to book a visit as it has to be logged on her planner, she likes to choose the time and day you can visit. We have struggled to see my mother once a week!
When we first visited Cressington Court, the home was clean and tidy and well presented. The rooms were newly decorated and the staff were friendly. The staff were busy and attentive to the residents and we decided that this was the right place for my sister. During her stay, the staff were patient and caring. We had every confidence in them when leaving her there and she was treated with real dignity at her passing.
I would like to thank Cressington Court for all their hard work and dedication towards my sister. The care she gets is absolutely brilliant. As for myself, her brother, I am kept informed and up to date with everything they do for her. So please keep the good work up, I appreciate it very much. Thank you all very much.
All the staff are dedicated and go the extra mile. I love the way they interact with the residents and show great care and empathy. They also allay all relatives fears and answer any questions you may have. Residents who are bedridden will have regular visits by staff to ensure they are not lonely. This socialisation is really important to improve their quality of life. When our relative recently died of old age one carer stayed with her until we arrived as she didn't like her being alone. Another staff member bought her a cuddly toy out of her own money when she felt poorly to cheer her up. The home has recently been redecorated, new flooring, windows and the upstairs lounge is an amazing area where staff can interact with residents and feed them. I would highly recommend this home. My relative has been in 4 homes in the last 8 years and this is by far the best and happiest one.
My brother has been in Cressington Court for a year now and he has been looked after by the staff excellently. They greet him with smiles, kind words, nothing is too much trouble for them. They are like family to him. He receives 24hour care so I know he is safe. There is always a nurse on site which reassures me that he is looked after well. The food is good and varied and they will gladly deal with any dietary needs. The home is nicely decorated, clean and warm. I can now relax knowing that his needs are catered for so well. Thank you.
My sister has been in Cressington for five months. The staff make the home. They are very caring and respectful of all patients. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my sister settled in. I ask her from time to time if she is happy at the home, I always get the same answer, YES. I feel that speaks volumes.
What can you say about this home and the staff? Totally dedicated and professional in their duties, they make my Mum so happy and comfortable. One thing for sure is that I can sleep well in my bed at night knowing she is being cared for and looked after by the staff. They let my mum do her own thing and give her a chance to express herself even when she thinks she’s the boss, they go along with it, it gives her a sense of independence and makes the staff happy as well knowing my mum is happy as well.
Visited today on my aunt's 91st birthday I took in cake for all residents and an extra one for my aunt as she is room bound -not a single person in the home knew it was her birthday even though date of birth is on the board and I am told lotus care do not celebrate residents birthdays -even though you promote home from home and exceptional care - a card ? A banner ? Some sense she was worth something to you as her "family" I am appalled at the lack of respect oh I trimmed her nails whilst I was there -clearly no one cares very much here she had claws and no one had noticed - you are missing the point -you might have all your forms filled in but you have lost the care and compassion the previous owner had - I hope you hang your heads in shame ...I will formally complain on Monday but you really need to reflect on your approach -the lack of compassion is so very upsetting for me as a family member that pays you to care for my aunt -shocking -words fail me ...
Amazing caring staff, would highly recommend and would like to thank all of them again on behalf of myself and my family.
I can highly recommend Cressington Court Care Home. My Mum moved in five weeks ago after five years in another care home and as a family, we are delighted with way she has been welcomed and the care given to her. She has settled in very quickly due to the lovely competent and caring staff who have also made us feel very welcome. All the staff, management, carers and nurses have gone to great lengths to reassure us and what could have been a very stressful period has been smooth and relaxed. The home is lovely and clean and always smells fresh. We couldn't be more pleased that Mum is at Cressington Court and know that she's in very good hands, safe and well cared for and it's a pleasure to visit her there. Thank you all.
