View Full Details of Kingswood Mount Care HomeOur mum was admitted to Kingswood Mount three and a half years ago during covid, during the time she was there she was shown nothing but kindness care and love from all the staff, from the nurses care workers cleaners and maintenance workers, every member of staff knew mum and always engaged with her, even the singers who come in on a very regular basis organised by the entertainment team always took time to speak to her and encourage her to sing along, for those that are able to get out trips are organised and our mum was able to participate in many of those. The staff are incredibly hard-working but always friendly and ready to listen to any concerns we might have had, Mum recently passed away at age 100 and my sister and I can honestly say we could not have asked for anything more than the care she received, the staff went above and beyond their duties. We would have no hesitation in recommending Kingswood Mount. Thank you to each and everyone of you.
My husband was a resident at Kingswood Mount for 3 years and this home was excellent, giving him excellent care and protection at all times. The manager is amazing treating all residents with respect at all times along with the deputy manager. All the caring staff were faultless and showed him and all residents love, care and respect. The Nursing team and all the night staff were excellent too. In fact, the way this home is run is amazing. This also includes all ancillary workers, showing respect in every way, and clerical staff too. The food is good with help given to residents who need help and encouragement to still enjoy their meals. There is no fault at all I can give Kingswood Mount, just a lovely friendly and caring staff, highly recommended. The staff here should be appreciated at all times. Say yes to Kingswood Mount.
I visited with a friend to spend some time with her grandmother, I would just like to say how friendly, caring and helpful the staff are, it's in a lovely setting with surrounding parks, and the home itself feels very homely and warm, would recommend.
Dad has settled so well and is loving all the entertainment that's organised by the activity organiser. A member of staff in particular has been brilliant at finding lost items (Dad loses something every week). Everyone is so lovely and we know Dad is very well cared for. Thank you.
Every time I come in the staff are very cheerful. They are very helpful when asked questions. Have a lovely rapport with Dad, cannon fault attention he gets and enjoys all facilities.
Since my dad has been in the care home, he has been treated with respect. The activities are brilliant for my dad. He loves music and singing and always gets involved with these activities. The staff are second to none, they're brilliant with Dad.
The care home is exceptional. Dad has settled in very well. Staff are very caring and are brilliant in all that they do. Keep up the grand work. It's nice to know Dad is in a well-cared-for place, which gives us the family piece of mind. With huge thanks to all staff. Best regards.
Avoid at all costs! I would not home my dog in this place, the staff are clueless and the management do not understand what it means to manage a care home. No accountability when it comes to the care of residents, or at least not when it came to my grandad. The staff were incompetent, I actually had to ask a family member if one of the staff members worked there or if they were a resident. This staff member was being led around by the hand of another staff member and being instructed on what to do, he didn't look as if he could look after himself, never mind vulnerable elderly men and women. The management are not fit to run their own bath, never mind a care home looking after vulnerable human beings. The manager was incompetent and would not take any accountability for the situation we had with our grandad, comparing the bed sores his staff had caused to a blister he had on his foot. Do not put your loved ones in here, not worth the stress and worry!
After a lot of searching for a home for Dad, we unfortunately chose Kingswood Mount. Dad went downhill from day one. Nobody to answer questions we had concerning Dad's health or care. No communication between staff. Dad's meals went from solid food to pureed food many times. When Dad became very ill, staff showed no care for Dad at all, but covering their own backs. Please don't put your loved ones in this home.
Avoid this home. I have tried to write a review to tell people how our experience was with this home but it’s not allowed. If you’re looking at this home do some research on all platforms that you can.
As a family, we were very disappointed with the level of care my grandfather received during his time living at Kingswood Mount. He is currently in hospital where he has been for the last five weeks. He will not be going back to this place when he is discharged. Please see my reviews for this place on other platforms.
On first impressions, we thought this would be a great home for Dad. How wrong we were. Within the first week, it was obvious there was no attention to detail in basic personal care. Dad would be dressed like the gentleman he is one day. The next he would have half the amount of clothes on and look like an unruly teenager. So upsetting to see Dad this way. No dignity and respect given. The same disregard was given to his food, one day he was given fish and chips, the next puréed beans (slop) there was no communication or consistency with the care provided. You could never get an answer to any concerns as everyone you asked either didn’t get Dad up that day or was working upstairs that day. We visited every day in the eight weeks Dad was in this home. Thank god we did. Dad ended up really ill (which was avoidable). I wouldn’t put anyone who was dear to you in this home. From the management down, there is no concern or empathy given. Absolute disgrace.
I have full admiration for the staff and carers, they are friendly, caring and always obliging. My husband settled easily and is well cared for, for which I am truly grateful.
My mother moved to Kingswood Mount mid-May 2023 after being in a residential home for almost 2 years. I wasn't sure if my mum was going to live for very much longer when she moved here, but the improvement in her appearance and her dementia had been massive. My mum has put weight back on, she knows who we all are when we visit and is so much more aware of her surroundings. A massive thank you to all the staff.
Although my sister hasn't been at Kingswood Mount Care Home very long. The whole family are pleased with the care and progress she has made.
I don't normally do reviews but I do believe in giving credit when credit is due when the time came to put Mum in a care home. I was concerned as you hear some horror stories but for 18 months before my mum died I can honestly say there wasn't one issue that I could complain about. From nurses, carers, cleaners, handyman entertainers, I witnessed how they worked with the residents, my mum smiled every time staff were around, she certainly enjoyed her time there. In the days leading up to Mum's death, relatives stayed in the home and all the staff could not do enough for us, even the night staff who we had never met before looked after us, nothing was too much trouble for them. During the last few days, I really got to know how difficult their job was, as I witnessed them at work close up and I can honestly say all the staff at the home are professional, caring people and the management should be proud of them. I wouldn't think twice about recommending Kingswood Mount.
My dad has been a resident at Kingswood Mount for a year now and I have nothing but absolute praise for the way he's being looked after. I've recently moved back to the UK from Canada and my first visit to the home was in June, I was so happy with what I saw with my own eyes. Whilst in Canada, I was in constant contact with the staff and each person I spoke to was very professional and most helpful, now I have met the staff and manager in person, I know wholeheartedly that Dad is being well cared for. The home itself is so pleasant to be in, it has a lovely atmosphere and seeing Dad with his new friends is heartwarming. I know he loves the daily activities they do each day. When I take him out for the day there is never an issue of bringing him back, he honestly thinks he's living in a hotel and loves the attention and fuss the nurses/carers make. On the rare days that Dad is feeling sad, they handle it with care and compassion and I know he soon snaps out of it. I 100% recommend Kingswood Mount.
Kingswood Mount is an extremely loving and friendly home. All the staff are very welcoming and kind, always showing support to, not only the residents but you and your wider family as well! My nan has become much more settled and content since joining the care home at the beginning of the year and I couldn't fault the care she has received through the year so far! I know she is looked after, given the specific care she needs and treated like family. I have nothing but good words and recommendations for this care home. As well as having new management, I believe the care home will reach even better levels than they are already at and for that, as a family, we are very grateful. Thank you to everyone who puts the time, effort, skills and, most importantly, the love into looking after our nan!
Beware. Please don't put a member of your family into this care home! (I say care extremely loosely). Takes staff 24 hours to call an ambulance after having a fall and didn't even bother to contact relatives! Food - you have two choices-take it or leave it (regardless of dietary requirements. Nobody ever answers the phone. Personal care is shocking and non-existant (hair hasn't been combed for weeks (excuse they've lost his comb). The carer got my dad ready for a day out, with messy hair, unshaven, no shoes, bleach all over his trousers. Never seen him wear any new clothes we have bought and not even to be found in his room? I could go on.
Before the arrival of COVID-19, the home was well run and my wife was lovingly cared for by skilled and dedicated staff, and I was able to observe this when I was welcomed into the home on my more or less daily visits. Since the arrival of COVID-19, l can’t think of the team at Kingswood Mount without welling up. Their courage and dedication have been absolutely gobsmacking. Despite the additional procedures they have to observe (without the support of colleagues who were taken ill), they have maintained their courtesy and positivity throughout. My wife is confined to bed with advanced dementia. I feared that, without frequent extended one-to-one visits, her mental condition would rapidly deteriorate. Now that limited visits are permitted again, l am amazed to find my fears were unjustified. How the staff managed this just seems miraculous! I’m very glad of this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to the whole team at Kingswood Mount. You’re all amazing.
