View Full Details of Stonedale Lodge Care HomeMy husband came to Stonedale Lodge in 2020. The staff have looked after my husband with care and compassion. My husband is very poor, he is deteriorating slowly and to be honest I would be lost without the staff and how well my husband is treated and looked after.
My aunt has been a resident at Stonedale Lodge for over two years. The staff are very caring and lovely both with her and us as a family. Admin staff who are very knowledgeable and caring. Food is of lovely quality and plenty. Cleaning is of a good level and my aunt's room is always warm and tidy. My aunt is very happy there. My only concern is very happy there. My only concern is that we have very little communication regarding price rises etc.
My dad went into this care home one month ago and I was very pleased with the way staff welcomed him, they all looked after him very well and kept him clean, fed, watered, nothing was a problem for them, 100 per cent those staff when I visited every day did not stop, I personally think they need to employ two more members on Anderton ward where he was, sadly he passed away two days ago and also when he was in his bed they phoned and I was told I can come in to sit with him. Thank you for everything.
My mother had advanced dementia and lived at Stonedale Lodge until her death in January 2023. The staff tried their best and were very fond of mum but there was not enough staff to look after the complex needs of the residents. Mum was nearly always wet, often without any underwear, frequently dressed in other residents' clothes, which I really don't understand as clothes all clearly labelled, slippers always going missing and a woman at risk of falls with size 3 feet wearing size 6 slippers. Taken to the hospital numerous times despite the fact there was an Advanced Care Plan. Having said all this which caused huge distress to our family, the staff cared for our Mum and tried their very best against all odds. The administration is another issue. I have been trying to get my mum's overpayment of fees £2544.12 back from Stonedale head office Advinia since January. I have been fobbed off, emails ignored, and written complaints not responded to. All in all an absolute disgrace, no problem taking the fees.
My mother had advanced dementia and was released to Stonedale, Clifton House after a spell in hospital The actual staff were lovely, caring people but are pushed to the limit due to severe staff shortages. Mum had 6 pairs of slippers go missing and was constantly wearing other people's clothes. She was wet every time I visited and I often had to change her clothes when I found that she didn't even have underwear on, slippers soaked through. She was being sent to A and E so many times it was totally distressing to everyone despite a written statement saying that this was not to happen. After a CQC inspection, they were put into special measures and caused a great deal of grief and guilt from my family. Mum passed away in the first week of January. We have been trying since then to get the money owed to her. Thousands of pounds, can't get through to head office, promises from Stonedale broken, still waiting. Disgraceful, over £2k for a month.
My overall view of the staff and home is highly impressive. Since the first day Mum and Dad moved in, the staff have been brilliant, showing care in every way. They can't do enough for my parents, which, of course, keeps me happy. To know your Mum and Dad are in good hands is very satisfying in the sense that they are safe, comfortable and in good hands.
My mother was a resident on the Sherburne unit, sadly passed away .The staff and management were so helpful and gave myself and my family great support. My mother was given amazing care. She was so happy, had so many friends, they were all like her second family. I would recommend Stonedale Lodge Care Home to my friends and family .
My mother was in Dalton house for respite for four nights. Fell out of bed the first night. Left in a wheelchair all day. Most of her clothes went missing. Her room was very cold. Got her out of there on Monday. Had a pad on for two days. They just dressed her in anyone's clothes. Had bed sores. Her legs were cut where they put pads on too tight. Had a male nurse putting pads on a 92-year-old woman. It is a horrible place and should be shut down. My mum came out worse than when she went in.
The care that my aunt receives is of a very high standard. The staff are friendly, caring and professional. The grounds are immaculate. She seems happy to live here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stonedale Lodge Care Home to friends and family.
My mum is a resident of the care home. The short time Mm has been there, just before lockdown, I couldn't ask for better care. Sadden to hear that two mental health nurses are changing jobs. Will two mental health nurses be assigned to the unit; they all work so hard in there, down to the cleaners, but I feel they need more staff in there, also activities for the residents - a bus would be nice.
My father was placed in Stonedale Lodge in Blundell House, and the care that he received was exceptional. I can not thank them enough for all the work they did with my father. All the staff, including but not limited to the manager and many more were very welcoming to my dad and me, and I would have been lost without them. Thanks to Stonedale, I cannot recommend them enough.
In dealing with Stonedale Lodge I approve of 90% of things they do and provide. Staff 100%. Sometimes proper things to be relayed to relatives are missed. Activities before lockdown have been reduced, in my opinion, since the first times I visited the home. Overall, I trust the staff to look after my relative. Which they do!
My wife gets cared for very well by all in Stonedale Lodge Care Home and they all do the best and they always have my wife relaxed and comfortable. I get treated very well when I visit and feel relaxed and all other tenants are cared for very well by everyone.
Though my mother has early signs of dementia, and the home is making her feel isolated due to Covid-19. I feel Stonedale is the best placement for her in this area and for her and my situation. Staff are very caring and patient with her. Rooms and facilities are in need of an upgrade.
Mum has been at Stonedale Lodge for nearly 9 months, after suffering a stroke she is no longer felt able to look after herself. I am amazed at how happy Mum is there, she is in Sherburne House and frequently tells me how lucky she is to be in such a nice place. Mum is aware of what's happening in the outside world but she feels totally safe and appreciates that she is being looked after very well. On her recent 95th birthday she was very pleased to be given a lovely birthday cake, unfortunately, because of Covid-19 we were unable to visit but one of the staff sent us some photos, and a video of staff singing 'Happy Birthday' to her. During the lockdown, I have had regular letters from the manager giving updates on the situation, which have been very reassuring.
My mum spent two weeks at Stonedale Lodge for respite care while my sister and I went on holiday. She was looked after very well, treated with respect and care at all times. The staff were polite, friendly and professional. Mum said the cups of tea were lovely, plentiful. Also, the food was good and a variety of meals to choose from. She enjoyed chatting with staff and a couple of other residents, she was visited frequently by family, friends, also our pet dog Leila, Yorkshire Terrier, who the staff welcomed and other residents were happy to see. I felt happy to leave mum for the two weeks at Stonedale, she was safe, cared for with respect and well looked after. Her medical history, mobility, medication were all taken into consideration, dealt with accordingly, and considerately. Daily Activities could be improved plus residents with the ability to communicate could be grouped together for talking therapy time, conversation, getting to know about each other.
My mum was here for approx 17 months and her dementia was quite complex. I found the home to be clean and well managed. The staff were wonderful to mum and I can only praise them for the job they do under very challenging conditions. My heartfelt thanks to the staff.
I've seen and visited other establishments and found this one to be the most satisfactory. There is a good atmosphere and the staff are good with the residents. The standard of care is very good and staff are always around checking all is fine with each resident. They (the staff) pick up when the resident is unwell and very quickly and take appropriate action. I think that the care home's success is reflected in the resident's attitude. My mother is happy and well cared for and staff are exceptionally kind and understanding. That is the most important thing.
Dalton House off Stonedale Lodge Care Home were amazing with my nan. She suffers from mixed dementia and as her 23-year-old carer and granddaughter it can be very challenging to care for her and help her with daily activities and needs as she is very proud, but the wonderful staff at Dalton House were amazing with her during her respite stay. They made her feel comfortable and happy and helped her socialise more, and if it came to the point of actually putting her in a care home I would 100% choose Stonedale Lodge. The staff go the extra mile nothing is too much trouble for them, they make sure the residents are well looked after and I just can’t recommend them enough! Couldn’t thank them all enough for how they cared for my nan! The staff truly do need to be appreciated. Thank you very much for everything Dalton House done. Also, the place is very clean and warming! Just amazing place to be in the sad situation.
My Dad has been at this home now for 2 years and I cannot praise the staff enough for the high standard of care they provide. They go out of their way to look after him and always to the highest standard. He has enjoyed his time at the home meeting new friends, great activities and making good memories. There is always a great atmosphere and everyone is made to feel welcome. If we ever have any questions or concerns they are always dealt with immediately and they constantly keep me informed of his progress. They have also been a great help to me, as someone who has not had to deal with the care system before - they are always there to answer any questions and have been a tremendous support throughout. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough in all aspects.
