View Full Details of Walton Manor Residential and Nursing HomeHome is very caring, loving and extremely helpful, must mention staff are amazing.
We have expressed severe concerns to the home itself and to the CQC. My parents did not receive good standards of care. There was no toilet first approach and both were left in soiled pads or not hoisted onto the commode; food was delivered on my mother's chest when she was supine, even balanced on a towel (it was not mechanically possible to eat it); there is no privacy or safety with residents freely wandering in and out of rooms (and one incident with a male resident in my mother's room was even more disturbing). Staff refer to residents as "her" and "she" and were often belligerent. My parents did not have proper bed coverings and dirty pads would be found left in the room. Also having been told I did not need to input my car registration into a machine by the staff admin I am being chased with debt collectors for parking fines for simply visiting my parents - so beware. The CQC rating for this home does not mirror our experience which was absolutely dreadful and deeply concerning.
My husband was a resident at Walton Manor for a whole year and during that time had the best care from the staff who looked after him. He was unable to speak but always had conversations with his carers. The chef always consulted him on his choices for meals. He felt included. They have a great entertainment programme and residents love to get involved in singing and having a dance. The home manager gave the best leadership to a fantastic caring group of staff, many of whom have worked there for many years. The home is a little worn around the edges, but spotlessly clean, I used the sniff test on a daily basis. All in all, I trusted them to look after my husband, who I cared for at home for 10 years. I know that says it all.
My mum has been in nursing care resident at Walton Manor for a year now. All the staff ensure that she is clean, and dressed well every day. I am very touched that thought in her clothes are always matched including slippers. This matters to my mum as she was always dressed smartly. My mum felt the cold and the staff moved her to another room as it was warmer and closer to the lounge area.
My nan has been a resident since the beginning of June, and as a family, we’re so happy about how much she has settled in and for the care she is receiving. All the staff are lovely and always go out of their way to make you feel happy when you visit, the home smells lovely and is spotlessly clean. It’s such a reassurance knowing she is well looked after, would highly recommend Walton Manor.
My mum is in Walton Manor Residential and Nursing Home. She has had dementia for two years. Me and my sisters looked after her and dad at home who has also got dementia and other problems. Mum broke her hip which meant she couldn’t return home. When we went looking at many homes for mum it was the hardest thing to do until me and my two sisters walked into Walton Manor. From the second we walked in and met the manager we knew this was the right home for mum and we felt so relieved. Mum is very happy here she is clean and very well looked after. The home is like a home from home. The staff are so lovely it’s a pleasure to go and see mum now. We take dad in to see mum and he never wants to leave. The room is spotless and bright. The food is that nice I’d eat it myself. We are now in the process of putting dad in here with mum they have been married 60 years. When we take him it’s like they are young again and in love. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a home for their family to look here.
I found that the home was very caring, they made my wife feel so welcome and the staff were really excellent. I would put my wife in there again if needed. I enjoyed going into the garden with my wife, it was really big and the home was clean. My wife was really settled at Walton Manor Residential and Nursing Home.
My mum has been a resident of Walton Manor for almost a year now. I am so happy to have chosen it for her, it is a very clean place, with a pleasant atmosphere noticeable as soon as you go in, with a wonderful caring and kind staff team who are all professional in what they do. My mum celebrated her 90th birthday in October and the care home staff laid on a lovely party for her. My mind is at rest because I know that she is being well looked after and cared for. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Walton Manor. I thank everyone there.
We can't thank Walton Manor and all the staff enough for what they have done for our aunt while she was at the home nothing was too much while she was at the home the staff always went above and beyond and we will be forever grateful.
My mother-in-law has been here for over 2 years now and I would highly recommend. The staff are amazing with her and have been great in such a difficult year. The home has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble for them.
My nan moved into this care home back in March last year right before the pandemic started and was made to feel right at home from the get-go. The staff in there are fantastic and she is looked after so well I couldn’t ask for a better place for her to be now. The Activities Co-ordinator and a few of the other staff have been sending us regular pictures and videos of how she is getting on, as we were unable to visit due to the Covid regulations so that was so reassuring that she was doing ok. They are always finding activities for the residents to do to keep them entertained. She loves being in there because it’s like one big, happy family who are always so helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a suitable place for their relatives.
My mum went into Walton Manor a week before lockdown, March 2020. She has dementia and was very agitated and depressed, but due to the care and attention from all the brilliant staff, she is now the happiest I've seen her in a long time. A big thank you to all at Walton Manor.
A good friend of mine has been living at Walton Manor now for a year or so after being very ill with her mental health. It was a difficult time for the family coming to terms with putting her in a care home but all the staff were brilliant. I have been to visit many times and the building and rooms are very clean. My friend always looks clean and well dressed. She is happy here and speaks highly of the staff.
My auntie was at Walton Manor Residential and Nursing Home last year when Covid hit, she had been at the home for 5 years but she was on end of life in April last year. She was never left alone even though we couldn't be there due to Covid, they kept us updated, nothing was too much trouble and all the staff went above and beyond. We can't thank the staff enough for all they did, they were amazing and treated us like family.
Mum's been in Walton Manor for over two years now and she’s very settled and the staff are great with her. So happy to be back in visiting after a long twelve months. I can’t thank all the staff enough, for looking after our mum.
Mum arrived here in June 2020, during the covid19 pandemic. She was lost and confused and I am so grateful to all the staff at Walton Manor. They have kept me informed throughout the pandemic with phone calls and photographs of Mum. She is the happiest she has been in years and I am lucky Mum got into Walton Manor. I can see such a great improvement in her mental health and this is all down to all the staff at Walton Manor. She tells me how lovely her meals are, how the girls do her hair and perfume, how she enjoys music and fun activities. The manager is great as he runs the home like one big, happy family. Nothing is a problem and to see the smiles on staff visits, really puts you at ease. I can go to sleep at night, knowing my mum is safe and well looked after. There is nothing better than peace of mind. Well done to you all at Walton Manor - you should all be proud of your achievements.
From the 1st day I stepped into this nursing home I had a very good feeling about it because as an ex taxi driver, I had been in lots of nursing homes and the odour in most of them were not good. I have never experienced any foul smells in this home as it is, in my opinion, very clean and the staff are always ready to give me information about my 102-year-old mother.
My mum has been here for over 2 years now and I couldn't ask for a better place for my mum. The staff are amazing with her and myself and always keep me informed. In what has been a hard year for everyone, they have been a great support and nothing is ever to much for them, no matter how busy they are. I could not think of a better place for my mum to be and would recommend this home to anyone, as this is always a hard decision for anyone to make when a love one has to go into a home.
My mum has been living here for nine months now, during the whole pandemic and the staff have been incredible during such a difficult time for everyone. My mum is the happiest I've seen her in a long time, now that she’s settled. The manager is brilliant and really cares for his staff and residents. He always makes time for me if I need a chat, or have any questions. Every time I visit, my mum's hair and nails have been done really nice too and I know the staff go the extra mile for her. Highly recommend Walton Manor to anyone.
This care home is a great, friendly place, taking care of all my mum's needs. Mum has Alzheimer’s, dementia and other health issues - she has been here for two years and we can’t complain. She settled in straight away and the staff are so good with her and us. They make you feel like it is a big family home. Obviously, covid has been tough but hopefully, we will be back in there soon.
