View Full Details of Abbeyrose CourtMy Dad was admitted for palliative care approximately 2 weeks ago after being discharged from a hospice where he had received excellent care. We were worried that the level of care would not be as good but we needn't have worried as we could not fault any aspect of the care he received at Abbeyrose Court. The staff were kind and caring and very attentive to my Dad's needs. The communication was excellent and the management kept the family informed and involved at all times. My Dad sadly passed away but the staff displayed great compassion and empathy right to the end. I can't thank all the staff enough and would not hesitate to recommend Abbeyrose Court to anyone.
I can not express enough how grateful I am for all of the staff at Abbeyrose Court Care Home. My mum was placed here as a respite from hospital after suffering both physical and mental health issues and just four weeks after arriving, she is showing signs of returning to her old self. She feels supported and safe and all of the staff treat her like part of the family. The residents have gone out of their way to make her feel at home and she is the happiest I have seen her in a very long time. She has now decided that she would like to remain as a resident after an entire lifetime of me being told that she would never forgive me if I put her in a home. She is being treated with dignity and respect, her needs are being met in all areas and I am overwhelmed with the change in her in such a short time. I would like to thank every single member of staff for giving me my mum back.
Our brother has been a resident at Abbeyrose Court for nearly eighteen months. We are very pleased indeed with the high standard of care he receives. The staff are caring, efficient and supportive in ensuring that his medical, social and spiritual needs are met. They also make prompt referrals to medical services when needed e.g. the hospital or G.P. There is a high standard of communication with the family and other agencies e.g. the hospital, social workers etc. We feel confident in being included in any necessary discussions and decisions. Our brother benefits from individual care planning which is responsive to his changing needs so that the right initiatives and correct steps are taken. The overall management of the home is excellent in its administration and communication about finances etc. The environment for our brother is always safe, clean and comfortable and the staff are always friendly and responsive. A really good nursing home. Consistently high standards.
The home is of a good standard. Plenty of activities, should you wish to attend. Rooms are clean and you can bring your own items and furniture in. Staff are very helpful, but at times can be pushed due to not enough staff. My mum was settled as soon as she came here.
The facilities seem nice, well decorated, with pleasant rooms and garden. Unfortunately, care is poor. Lymewood Court assured us that they were equipped to deal with dad's needs (Nasogastric tube feeding, dementia). However, dad was only with them for one week, during which they repeatedly sent him back to hospital for 'problems' with his NG tube. Once, they sent dad to hospital unattended. He has dementia and was disorientated. They gave him only one week to acclimatise, most of which he actually spent in A&E. They now say that they can't accommodate dad because of his 'behaviour'. Lymewood Court claims to offer dementia care but seemed to have no concept of how to look after dad, they punished him for having dementia. We feel they didn't care about dad's feelings at all and treated him more like an old piece of furniture than someone with feelings. Despite nice surroundings, we couldn't recommend this service to anybody - care is the exact opposite of what they showed in looking after dad.
We, as a family, are very happy for my grandmother to be a resident here. We have peace of mind that she is safe and well looked after. The staff are all friendly and caring and seem happy in their jobs.
First impressions of this care home (Lymewood Court, Haydock) was excellent. Arriving for respite at 8pm, we were given a very warm welcome by staff and management on duty. The premises are spotlessly clean and smelt fresh and airy. The lounge was well furnished and once again felt warm and welcoming. Her room allocated was nicely decorated with matching furniture and bedding. After seven days, the care and compassion shown by carers, domestics, admin, nursing staff and manager have been wonderful. I hope my mother can stay much longer.
I would just like to thank you for all the care you gave my mother-in-law why she was with you. She spent the last few weeks of her life with you, your staff looked after her as if she was one of the family. You made a very hard time that little bit easier for my wife and step-children. I would recommend your home to anyone. Many thanks
I always find staff friendly and helpful, even though there is a staff shortage, with a number of staff leaving. The care home is clean and tidy, rooms are kept clean and tidy and Mum's clothing is washed and ironed. Mum sometimes has to wait for going to the bathroom but it's again down to staff numbers.
Lovely care home, clean and the staff were friendly and very caring. They couldn't do enough to help. Could not fault a thing about this care home for the short stay my mum was there.
My family and I wish to express our utmost gratitude and appreciation for all the kindness, care and friendship afforded to my husband and to ourselves by all members of management and staff. We have become fond of all staff members.
Having just lost my mother. I would just like to thank all the staff for their understanding and patience at the weekend. The staff were very caring and did all they could to make the last moments of my mum's life comfortable and I cannot praise them enough for all their help. The home is always kept spotless and they interact with all the patients on a very personal level. The attention to detail and the care given is in my opinion 5 star.
