View Full Details of Victoria Care HomeWe were so lucky to have found Victoria Care Home in Rainford for the last 4 1/2 months of mums life we were able to relax in the knowledge that she was safe and well looked after. The staff from the managers, nursing staff, maintenance staff, cleaners, caterers and carers were all very helpful, approachable and kind. They care about the family too. There are 2 activity coordinators who provide weekly bingo sessions, regular singers and craft sessions. They have a noticeboard with weekly newsletters and puzzles. Thank you Victoria Care home.
At a time when I needed respite care, the staff at the Victoria Care Home were particularly caring in their welcome. From the outset, I was afforded dignity and care by all that I was assisted by. I cannot fault the management or staff at any level. I was not well enough to take part in any activities, although I was aware they were available. Victoria Care Home was warm, clean and comfortable.
Mum lived with me and my family for over 20 years. It was a very difficult decision to place her in a care home. The management and staff at VCH made this transition more acceptable. They treat Mum with dignity and respect. Managers are approachable and deal with queries swiftly and efficiently.
Mum was admitted to VHC in August 2024. It was a very difficult decision for the family to make but her declining health and several nasty falls made it impossible to look after her at home. VCH have looked after Mum so well - they have tried so hard to encourage her to eat/drink. The staff have treated her with respect and dignity even at her most challenging times.
I would like to say how lovely the staff in Victoria Care Home have been. My dad moved to this care home from a home he didn't like and the staff here have made him feel so welcome, he loves all the staff and the care the staff give him is amazing, and too puts up with all his hard work. I would like to give a big thank you to the management for their hard work with him.
My experience at Victoria Care Home in Rainford has been a very positive one. The staff are caring and friendly with lots of patience. My auntie has been treated with understanding and respect as her Alzheimer's progresses and becomes more challenging. The staff including the management are very approachable and have listened and dealt with any issues that have arisen and dealt sensitively with my Aunt at all times. I feel that more activities would be really beneficial and flushing handles on toilets for the disabled would be great.
Welcoming, friendly staff. The lovely home is clean and does not have 'nasty' smells. Residents are well looked after respectfully. Staff supported family members as well as residents. Due to the nature of dementia residents tend to wander into other rooms and on occasion move items. I am aware that every effort is made to prevent this, however, some personal items do not return despite being reported. This can cause distress. I rate Victoria Care Home highly and have no concerns regarding the safety and care of my husband. Management and staff are always available.
The staff at Victoria Care Home took such good care of my lovely mum who sadly passed away in September. They were kind, caring, compassionate, and respectful, not just to my mum but to me and my family as well. Always had time to have a chat when I needed it. I am so glad that I chose Victoria Care Home. I trusted them to do what was right for my mum and I will be forever grateful to them.
My overall experience is excellent. The staff are particularly kind and helpful. The nursing staff understand my needs and are happy to provide the care that I need. The food is my only issue, I understand it is to the taste of most people my age but I have difficulties sometimes. I do have relatives and friends who are willing to supplement my meals. Overall my experience is good.
My father-in-law was in Victoria Care Home for a year. The care received was outstanding. Thank you.
My mother-in-law came to live in Victoria in February, she is in the Elderly Mentally Infirm nursing unit due to dementia. The staff have been very welcoming and caring. Our anxieties have definitely reduced and I would definitely recommend Victoria Care Home to others. The decision for 24-hour care was a difficult one but we’re happy it was the right decision and feel my mother-in-law is safe and looked after.
All staff are great, they are pleasant, professional, compassionate and caring. My mum's room is always clean as is everywhere in Victoria Care Home. The staff regularly come in to see my mum, always ensuring she is clean, comfortable and settled.
Everything and everyone at Victoria Care Home is excellent. I am very happy with the way my husband is cared for. I have no negatives. The staff are really lovely and they generate a very homely atmosphere. Many thanks to you all.
The staff have created and maintained a lovely, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, at the same time as keeping constant checks to ensure all the residents are safe and well. There is a lot of music and laughter. The rooms and lounges are always clean and fresh. Residents all seem happy and relaxed. As a regular visitor it's a really pleasant place to spend time.
My friend has been at this home for many years, she absolutely loves being here. The staff are very friendly and very approachable and you can talk to them at any time of the day, nothing is too much trouble for them.
Dad and I are so grateful to all the staff for their dedication, expertise and sense of humour. This caring job is such a tough one, requiring great patience, compassion and resilience. The staff at Victoria Care Home have all these and so much more. They also listen - such an important thing is to be able to ask about any concerns. They always listen and act on our questions. On behalf of my mum, thank you so much.
My mum has recently (and still is) having a period of respite at Victoria Care Home - what amazing staff! Nothing is too much trouble and standards of care are very high.
The care from staff is very worrying. My uncle was discharged into this care home to receive care. Within three weeks of being here, he passed away. He was never moved into the home as end-of-life. Nor did any doctor mention end-of-life care. He deteriorated due to lack of fluids and his dignity was not protected. He was left in bed with severe safety concerns from family, we have raised a formal complaint following his treatment at the home.
I picked this care home as it was in the same village as me, so easy to visit. It was clean and very friendly. The staff are lovely and take great care of the residents, even when some days you can see they are understaffed. I understand, that while in the midst of covid, they were not able to have a mobile hairdresser in, but think it's about time they brought it back. My only complaint is they have no activities for the residents. They need something more than just sitting in front of a TV all day and everyday.
I feel my mother is getting well looked after, which is my priority. The staff are friendly and helpful. She enjoys the food and is content, I feel. Thank you all.
