View Full Details of Millbrook HouseThank you all at Millbrook House for taking care of my beloved wife. I am very grateful.
My experience of Millbrook House has been very positive. The staff are attentive and appear to look after the patients well. Whilst the decor is not brilliant the care is excellent.
I cannot speak highly enough for the staff at Millbrook. My dad was a resident at Millbrook for over 3 years, sadly he passed away yesterday. The compassion and duty of care at the nursing home were second to none, they are beyond amazing - they will also keep in contact with the family, the care and attention they gave my dad was truly out of this world, they are literally one big family. Even when my dad sadly passed, the compassion I personally received was comforting at a very difficult time. With my experience having the care home in my life for the duration of time my dad spent there I would truly recommend it without any hesitation. From the bottom of my heart - thank you to all the staff at Millbrook.
My grandad has recently been transferred to Millbrook and as a family, we are overwhelmed by the exceptional care and standards we have witnessed. My grandad, who is living with dementia, has been enabled to join in with lovely activities, engage with staff, enjoy his time in communal living areas and enjoy a healthy balanced diet. I have been nothing but impressed and overjoyed with the wonderful experience we have had throughout the moving-in process and my grandad's first week at Millbrook. I have been amazed to see the genuine care that is provided by each member of the Millbrook team and am so grateful to have found my grandad a place at this brilliant service. I can not thank the manager and the team at Millbrook enough.
Millbrook House has been wonderful with my husband. They take care of his every need and he has improved so much being there. Can't thank them enough.
Mum has received excellent care during the 6 weeks she has spent in transitional care at Millbrook House following her discharge from hospital. She has settled in well, is calmer, less anxious, and recovering her mobility well. She has benefitted from a range of stimulating activity sessions, which she has really enjoyed. All the staff have been helpful and supportive, facilitating visits and finding quieter areas to enable calls between Mum and my day at home. I would like to thank all the staff for the excellent care they have provided.
I would like place this review with a huge thank you to the manager at Millbrook and all the staff at Millbrook, they are all amazing. After having to make the heart breaking decision for our beautiful mum to go In to care we were glad Millbrook House was chosen. The previous care home was not suitable for Mum, we worried for her care there and they didn't like speaking to us over the phone, which was awful in a pandemic, we were so stressed, however, once Mum was transferred to Millbrook, it was the complete opposite. They really looked after her, they were so lovely with her and she was safe, and also they were lovely with us as well. We phoned twice a day and the staff, no matter how busy they were, reassured us Mum was okay and were lovely on the phone to us, which to me, was so professional and so caring. Millbrook House is immaculate and so well run. I would recommend it to anyone, they really did care for Mum and she seemed more settled in there, so thank you so much Millbrook
My mum went into Millbrook in August 2020 and has now been a resident for a year so it's a good time to provide my thoughts. My mum is now so settled thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the staff on site who work tirelessly to ensure our family members are comfortable and happy. There is always something going on to keep them occupied and entertained with the in-house entertainer doing a fantastic job. I cannot express how grateful I am to all for putting my mind at rest that Mum is in the best place.
I am extremely happy with the care my wife is receiving. She has settled in and the staff are fantastic and the management. She is happy, that is all that matters to me.
My lovely mum is resident at Millbrook House and has been for several years. This pandemic has been traumatic for everyone, and not seeing mum for a long year was indescribable. My sister and I telephoned every day, worried that mum would feel abandoned. We were never made to feel we were a nuisance and the manager and senior staff were always happy to chat with us and give us reassurance. Since guidelines have thankfully started relaxing, Millbrook has done everything possible to facilitate us getting back to some normality with mum, whilst always keeping everyone safe and secure. Since mum has been at Millbrook, our needs as a family have always been considered. The manager and her staff are equally as concerned about our wellbeing as they are about mums, and always make sure we know they are there for us as a family as well as mum. Millbrook feels to me like one huge extended family and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Under an emergency placement, my husband was placed in Milbrook House in June 2018. This was an extremely traumatic time for the whole family, however, during that time the management and staff have been wonderfully supportive of both myself and my husband, who is in their care. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they have worked above and beyond the call of duty and for this, we are extremely grateful.
My father has been a resident of Millbrook House for approximately two years having been placed in care via an emergency Social Services placement. This was an extremely traumatic time for the whole family. However during this time, and ever since the management and staff at Millbrook have been very supportive. My father has quite advanced vascular dementia, and he is unable to carry out any self-care at all, however, the staff at Millbrook care for him wonderfully. To try to keep dementia patient stimulated is difficult but the staff at the home do their best the interact with the patients, and they also provide entertainment in the form of visiting singers, dance parties and for those who have enough mobility, trips out on a mini-coach. It was awful for us as a family to have my Dad placed in a home, but as this was unavoidable time, we feel he is in an excellent environment where he is cared for by smiling, dedicated staff, 24-hours a day.
I cannot convey how very impressed l am with the standards and kindness of everyone who works at Millbrook especially dealing with a very demanding and complex patient.
In my experience as a sister of a resident of Millbrook House, I have found it to be a home of very high standards. It is very clean and the food is good and plentiful, best of all are the staff who do a great job. They are kind and respectful, at the same time very efficient while seeing to the resident's needs I would not hesitate in recommending this home.
The atmosphere was joyous. The premises vibrantly decorated so unlike other clinical institutions. The staff genuinely happy and engaged with the service users. My husband had been so let down where he previously resided by staff unwilling to assist his mobility, even despite my constant presence as wife and carer. Complaints polite then firm, fell on deaf ears. He was aware of their incompetence therefore eventually distressed by their interference. At Millbrook within only forty-eight hours, he was zipping about with his frame. A startling and dismaying difference. He would when resting, sit contentedly observing the parade of people. It is apparent Millbrook House is special. If I could no longer care for my husband, all were pleased we found the best place for him and my peace of mind.
I moved my uncle from a care home that in my opinion was not meeting any of his needs and in fact after complaining was deemed to be failing numerous standards by The Care Quality Commission. From the point of contact, over two years ago, to the present date my uncle has had exceptional care and respect. The manager is exceptional in her delivery of excellent care for all the residents and there is a strong sense of teamwork whenever I visit, which is frequently. He has the onset of dementia and at times can be very difficult but nothing phases the staff team and they have dealt with all incidents appropriately. He is always well cared for physically and staff take pride in ensuring he receives encouragement when he gets distressed. I have witnessed many occasions when staff have been dealing with other relatives/residents in exactly the same way. I frequently ask to view his bedroom and it is always spotlessly clean and fresh smelling which again is important to him. If he needs anything the staff will speak directly to me and always include me in any discussions made about him and his care. When he has had falls or an incident this is always reported to me immediately by whichever staff member is in charge on that shift. Staff spend time with the residents and talk to them which is unlike his other home where they were always huddled in groups or in the dining room drinking tea. Overall I am extremely happy with Millbrook and hope he will remain there for some years to come.
