View Full Details of Westcliffe ManorMy first impression was that this nursing home was beautifully maintained and cleaned. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and keen to meet all of my father's requirements. The communication with the manager (who has been at the home for 20 years), deputy, nursing and catering staff has all happened seamlessly between myself and at least four other family members. Staff have facilitated friendships with other residents and provided the stimulation, food and medical care which my dad has required since leaving his bungalow. He is happy and comfortable.
It is a pleasure to review Westcliffe Manor, my father lived in Westcliffe for over 16 months, and the care provided was exceptional, particularly as he sadly moved into end-of-life care during the last 6 weeks of his life, I can easily say he was provided with exemplary care in the last days of his life. I'd recommend Westcliffe to anyone. Thanks to all the staff!
Overall the staff no matter who it is treat residents and visitors with great respect and dignity and I am very pleased that my mother is a resident. Well done to all staff at Westcliffe Manor, keep up the brilliant work.
Mum has settled in well at Westclffe Manor after moving from a previous home. I visit regularly and it is lovely to see the residents treated very well and with dignity. It's nice Mum's clothes have been carefully selected and coordinated and little touches like jewellery and earrings added, it makes me happy to know Mum is looking her best. Special touches like napkins at meal times and a glass of wine if wanted to add the feeling of 'home'. The resident's lounge is airy and spacious but warm and comfortable. Mum's room is pleasant. The staff do a great job and are efficient, friendly and kind and respect their residents.
My mum has been a resident here for 3 years now. I am a retired GP and have visited a boat load of care and nursing homes over my career. Some have been awful some okay and I do think it's unrealistic to expect perfection in any institution of this type. But I can honestly say Westcliffe is the best I've encountered. They clearly care about their residents a lot and it shows. Would highly recommend
A happy experience living at Westcliffe Manor. All staff are very kind and helpful. The food is very good and lovely to see chefs mixing regularly with the residents. We both enjoy the quizzes, one staff member in particular is a born entertainer.
I just wanted to thank the team for all their hard work planning and hosting their 40th Anniversary Celebrations at the home this afternoon. Some of the staff dressed in 80s outfits, they involved all the residents and visitors in the entertainment and got everyone singing/dancing and joining in, there were certainly lots of happy faces. A special themed cocktail was provided which they loved, a beautiful buffet had been prepared and a lovely cake was made. All in all, it was a lovely afternoon and residents and visitors loved it. So thank you for all you do it is very much appreciated.
My mum has spent the last two years of her life being cared for by the amazing staff at Westcliffe Manor. When she was first admitted in August 2021 aged 95 after 6 weeks in Hospital I thought she was going there to die she was so poorly. I am confident that because of the exemplary care provided by all the staff at Westcliffe Mum lived for another 2 years: safe, comfortable and sensitively cared for. They have been hugely supportive to both my mum and to me during a challenging time. This, to me, is what a nursing home should be like.
Our mum spent the last 11 months of her life at Westcliffe Manor. She was made to feel safe and cared for by the truly dedicated team. The staff were always friendly and approachable and the atmosphere in the home was lovely. Please keep up the good work so other families can know their parents can receive the care and dignity that they deserve. On behalf of our family, we want to thank the manager and all of her staff for their care and compassion. Westcliffe Manor is a shining example of how all our care/nursing homes should be run.
My mum was looked after by the staff at Westcliffe Manor for over two years. She had the best possible care we could have hoped for, and the staff each knew her very well despite her having advanced dementia along with other associated health problems. Her personal care was exemplary, and it provided an enormous amount of comfort to her family, knowing she was safe and comfortable during her last years. This is a beautiful care home with dedicated staff and wonderful facilities.
Mr father-in-law received excellent service whilst living in Westcliffe Manor. The care and support provided were first class, they nursed him back to health following a very nasty infection, showed empathy towards him at all times and were incredibly patient! Sadly my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly towards the end of his stay and the support from the staff to the wider family continued. I would fully recommend this home, it gave the family massive comfort knowing that our dad was in very safe and caring hands. Thank you, Westcliffe management and team.
My mum is in Westcliffe and I am very happy that the staff are very good to my mum. The staff do not change a lot at all which brings a lot of continuity. Covid has been a big problem but there is a pod you can visit if you can’t go in. There are a few activities and my only negative would be is that they need more, but well done to the staff for all their efforts. Hopefully now with restrictions lifting, we can go back to visiting without appointments. Look forward to seeing my mum more regularly.
When my father became unable to take care of himself and I was not able to provide the care he needed, I had to find a suitable, good nursing home. I live close to Westcliffe Manor and had always heard good reports about them. My father became a full-time resident of the home in March 2021 and he remains there to this date. The staff have always been highly professional and very welcoming. The home is spotlessly clean with knowledgeable and friendly staff always in attendance. The food is of the highest standard. I feel the staff, in particular the management, are prepared to go that extra mile to provide a high quality of service. Whenever there has been an issue with my father I have been contacted without delay. I would recommend Westcliffe Manor without hesitation, it is a place of excellence.
My husband was in the home for three weeks for end of life care. He couldn't have been better looked after. The staff are really caring and at the end, they made such a sad occasion a lot easier.
The staff are very caring. I am elderly and they take that into consideration and give me time!
Mum is 89, she had to move from her previous home due to circumstances outside our control. My sister and I had Westcliffe Manor recommended to us for what we hope will be Mum's permanent home. I have nothing but praise for the effort, care and consideration given to Mum and my sister and I during Mum's move and subsequent settling in. Westcliffe Manor is like a 5-star hotel, with great care, kindness, friendliness and compassion out of what was a difficult situation. A positive arose, and that is Mum has the most beautiful home surrounded by the love and care that my sister and I could only wish for her. The best. Thank you.
Mum became a resident of Westcliffe Manor a few months ago, having transferred from a previous nursing home. Management and the entire staff team welcomed mum with open caring arms. We were so grateful they prioritised mum's needs above all else, actively listening to both mum and us (sister and I). Mum appears well and settled overall. The staff are very attentive and the cleanliness of the home is testimony to the high standards at Westcliffe Manor.
When it became obvious that my Mum required respite, following several hospital stays, Westcliffe Manor was highly recommended by a friend. I’m eternally grateful for that recommendation as I believe they saved my Mum’s life and my sanity. Although this year has been extremely difficult, both because of the realisation that it wasn’t possible for Mum to return home, together with the virus situation and the inability to visit, I’m so grateful the home has kept my Mum safe and that’s been down to the wonderful manager and her devoted staff. If you’re looking for somewhere to care for your loved one, both my Mum and I, couldn’t recommend Westcliffe Manor highly enough. This home is more like a hotel, it’s also spotless. The staff are wonderful and so dedicated to the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone goes out of their way to do anything you ask and the staff genuinely seem happy to be working there. It’s a wonderful place.
My mother has been a happy and safe resident at Westcliffe Manor for several years and I hope that a recent incident was just a blip. A person admitted on a very short stay, whom she had never seen before, wandered into her bedroom and woke her. I hope that Westcliffe Manor will consider refusing short-stay admissions to avoid any possible future upset for permanent residents.
When my father was showing signs of confusion and dizziness we called Westcliffe Manor for help. My father was well cared for and had a secure one-night stay where the staff were kind and helpful. The facilities were excellent, once we established his health issue he was allowed to go back home. Thank you very much.
