View Full Details of Abney Low Nursing HomeThe staff at Abney Low are exceptionally kind, helpful and professional. Recently, he was in a very bad way, which meant three of us stayed all day and overnight - we were looked after with such kindness. The staff also keep us informed at all times of how his care is happening.
Although he has not been at the home that long he has suffered bad and deteriorating health problems (which have not been caused by his stay at the the home but as an unfortunate health decline but he has been and his family treated with dignity as have the family) throughout. Obviously these events are upsetting but it is something he has to overcome and unfortunately I think will arise again. Thank you and your staff for all you have done and continue to do in the future. Thank you.
My dad has recently moved in and has settled in really well. The staff are lovely and he is really responding well to them. We unfortunately had an episode where he was really poorly and the staff treated him so well. Their response with the medical teams went above and beyond, their support to both dad and the family was exceptional. We will be forever grateful to them for treating us so well. I would not hesitate in recommending Abney Low to anyone.
Permanent staff provide good care and are engaging with residents and family. Some care isn't consistent due to agency workers being used. Communication is sometimes difficult with staff. No top up fees means this home is good value for money. In summary my dad is happy and settled and feel good quality of care given. Building is a bit dated but always clean.
My mum joined the other residents in November 2024. She has settled so well. I am more than happy with the care and attention she has received. I am comforted when I leave Mum there because she is looked after so well.
My nan has been here for 2 years, she has dementia and is not good with change, all the staff helped her settle in so quickly without any problems. The care they give is outstanding treating her with love and care always. We often find a member of staff just sitting with her giving her some company. The staff are laughing and joking and keep everyone upbeat. Fantastic home, couldn't ask for more.
My mum has been under the care of the nurses and staff since she's been here. All the staff have been amazing in making Mum feel comfortable with their friendly, caring attitude. The nurses are brilliant keeping me up to date with Mum's medical conditions and always ring with the latest development regarding Mum's health. I can confirm that all the staff that have been in contact with Mum have given her the highest level of care and love.
My husband has been a resident since February 2023, his first few months were quite difficult both for him and me. I feel like the last few months he has settled better with the help of good staff and management. If I need to seek help and advice about anything everyone is very helpful.
I visited my nan at The Anchorage for the first time last month. It was wonderful seeing her looking so happy and being so well cared for at the home. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming to us.
My father moved into The Anchorage in January 2022. The room he has is spacious and light. It needs to be decorated and a ramp is required so he can go out into the outside space. He feels safe and secure and is well looked after. Although the constant change in staff is a concern, he is well looked after and quite often chooses to stay in his room. Overall, I would say The Anchorage and its staff are very good.
I have always found the staff extremely friendly and caring towards my mum. Whenever I visit my mum, she always has a happy demeanour and is well dressed. I can see that she has settled in the home and is "happy" being there. This brings me great comfort and I am very grateful for all of the hard work of the staff to provide a safe and pleasant environment for my mum in her twilight years.
A warm welcome by staff and very friendly. My father has a ground-floor room which has patio doors looking out onto a small courtyard which my father likes. He seems contented and finds the staff very caring. The house is an old building which needs updating.
