14/16 Riversdale Road, West Kirby, Wirral, CH48 4EZ
View Full Details of Riversdale10 /10 for all staff who work there. The food is excellent and well-cooked by the chefs. Building and room require sprucing up which I believe is happening (Room needs a toilet instead of a commode in my mum's case) value for money response is based on the cost of care which is the same everywhere, the fact the council pays less is 100% wrong.
I am a close friend of a resident in the care if Riversdale. The staff and facilities are excellent and I would highly recommend it to any new user.
They are caring for my mother as I live away and as such I am very grateful for the time and effort they give her it does set my mind at ease knowing she is cared for in such a manner. Shame the group didn't buy a sheep or goat for the lawn at the back as it would be nice for the residents to get out there in the fine weather (sunburn permitting !).
Moving your mum into a care home is a very stressful and worrying time. Riversdale has been amazing to my mum and us! Mum has settled well and made friends with other residents and the staff. Riversdale is a very special home with the most amazing staff. They work very hard and look after the residents so well. Many activities and social occasions take place for the residents and families to enjoy. Can’t thank Riversdale enough for all they do.
My father had nearly five happy years in Riversdale Care Home. He passed in February, very sad but well looked after. His end-of-life care by the staff was exemplary and Dad's family cannot thank them enough for their care and kindness.
I would like to thank all the staff at Riversdale. From the first contact, when I turned up unannounced to visit the home, all the staff have been professional, friendly and welcoming. To move Mum into a home, after a fall, was a very hard decision to make, but it was made much easier by the patience and understanding of all the staff.
Every time I ring the bell to be let in and sign the visitor's book, I'm met with a smile, chatty and genuinely pleased to see me. The staff here are superb in every day. They offer me a coffee/tea, then update me on my mum's progress, any problem, and any issues or concerns I may have; they listen, and it's dealt with ASAP. Recommended highly. All of the staff here are first-class and caring.
I can not thank the home and staff for being so supportive of my mum. They have gone over and above to help my mum settle in and feel at home. She was very nervous and run down when she arrived in May 2023 and in 4 months she is happy, laughs takes part in the activities. The food is brilliant and she enjoys every bit of her meals. She always looks clean and tidy. Thank you so much.
My mum moved into Riversdale in May. All the staff and management have been helpful and very friendly at all times. They have all helped my mum settle in well. They have helped us all as a family deal with the situation.
Dad spent an enjoyable three weeks on respite. Excellent service. Friendly and caring staff. Always ready to discuss issues and provide the best care for Dad. Dad was happy and stimulated. The staff made him feel at home and took the time to stimulate him and give him some outdoor exercise. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Thanks to the manager and team.
The atmosphere whenever you visit is always happy - residents smiling and good interaction with staff. The staff provide excellent care and support to residents and family alike in a very professional manner but also with humour and friendliness. The interaction between all the staff is excellent and is to be commended. The increase in the activities for residents is also very welcome and very good. I would have no hesitation in recommending Riversdale for the care the residents get. Food is excellent and varied, and the residents always look clean and tidy.
I would like to thank the management and all her staff for the wonderful coronation celebration that they provided for the residents and their families. The decorations, celebration food and gardens were lovely and we all enjoyed the lady entertainer whose singing added to a very happy afternoon. Thank you all for your hard work and kindness.
My mum has only been a resident in Riversdale for a few months and in that time she has been looked after by excellent staff who are very caring. Recently she celebrated her 100th Birthday, and the staff were enthusiastic and caring, and the family can't thank them enough.
We are increasingly concerned about staff shortages and mistakes. The management has admitted they are unable to meet needs. Sadly, we are resorting to ringing Adult Services emergency helpline for advice and intervention. On the plus side, there are carers here who go above and beyond and are the glue holding this place together. I write this review after previously leaving excellent comments a few years ago.
The care home staff are second to none. They provide my mother with outstanding care. It is clear that they not only take pride in their role. They genuinely care about the resident's well-being. My mother turned 100 whilst she was in the home, and the manager, together with the carers, made such a fuss of her and made sure it was memorable. You are always dubious when choosing a nursing home; however, for us, we couldn't have picked a better one.
This is my home; I love it here. The staff are amazing, they are all so lovely and helpful. The manager clearly helps us and is easy to talk to. The food is really good and tasty. The garden has been wonderful over the summer. The home is so welcoming, and the activities are good. The cleaners are fantastic, and the home always smells lovely and clean. This home is boos. Could not wish for a better place to be.
Mum has been a resident here since April 2021 and has settled really well. She has moved to a cooler ground-floor room where there is more hustle and bustle and it suits her so much better. She eats well and is very well cared for. The staff are all very good to her and she is very content. Her room is nice and all concerns have been sorted.
Mum has only been here a couple of weeks but has settled in very well due to the very caring staff.
Mum was transferred from hospital to a nursing home which was not ideal but the staff were welcoming and couldn't do enough for her. Her room is bright and well furnished. We are encouraged to add some of her favourite pictures etc to make her feel it was her space. Mum always remarks about how kind and friendly her carers are. Covid restricted our visits for many weeks but our telephone calls were welcomed. Mum is in a safe environment and is quite settled. The position next to the sea is lovely which is ideal for little trips out in her wheelchair. There have been a few changes in management possibly again due to covid, we believe this will soon be resolved.
Although my wife and I wish we didn't need to use the home we have found it friendly and extremely courteous to both my wife and myself.
