View Full Details of Safe Harbour Dementia Care Home BebingtonThe staff are amazing and go above and beyond to look after my friend and the other residents. They do make Safe Harbour as homely as possible for the residents, and there are lots of activities for the residents and their loved ones to get involved in.
My dad moved into Safe Harbour Bebington in July 2023 from his assisted living flat, as his Alzheimer's progressed it just wasn't an appropriate place for him to be staying - he was wandering and bored. He moved to Safe Harbour for a 2 week trial and settled in immediately so became a permanent resident. The level of care is second to none and he is happy, healthy - putting on a little of the weight he lost in the last few years and he has lots of new friends there. One of the things we loved about Safe Harbour is the number of chaps that live there, they have a men's club every Friday where they play cards/games and drink beer (alcohol free). The residents have a busy schedule of activities, meals, drinks and snacks. Lots of interesting events - Dad stroked a skunk and cuddled a meerkat when the petting zoo visited! Staff are fab The GP visits weekly, all residents are seen on the round. Regular visits from the hairdresser and chiropodist too. It's a lovely, happy and safe home.
The staff here are wonderful. My father-in-law, who has Alzheimer's, is always clean, well-dressed, and smiling. There is always some form of entertainment, and it shows how much the staff care for their residents every day. You are always welcomed as a visitor at any time by pleasant, happy and caring staff like one big happy family. I don't think he could be in any better place than safe harbour.
My aunt has dementia and has been in Safe Harbour for 3 and a half years. My brother, sister and I are her only living relatives and no longer live in the area. My sister in Canada, myself in Northamptonshire and my brother in Warrington. Therefore, we cannot visit as often as we would like. When we do go (with no prior warning to the staff) it is obvious that she is so well cared for. Her room is immaculately clean, she is always clean - hair and nails always beautiful and she is very happy in herself, as are the other residents who often chat to us. The staff are amazing - always friendly and helpful. Communication is excellent - they always let us know of any issues, medical or otherwise that occur. I would have no hesitation in recommending Safe Harbour to anyone looking for a home for a loved one.
Since my dad moved into Safe Harbour the care he has been given is outstanding. All the staff are very friendly, caring and professional. I know my dad is well cared for not only do they care for dad they also provide fantastic entertainment that caterers for all residents. All I want for dad is to be happy and safe and here in Safe Harbour he truly is. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a setting to look after a loved one.
A friendly, compassionate and caring team. Have always been helpful, given timely updates and photos which is so thoughtful and reassuring. It's nice to see the care and affection the staff have for the residents.
My husband has been in Safe Harbour since January 2023 - he has mixed dementia of Alzheimer's and Vascular dementia - the staff are wonderful - caring and understanding as they have helped me along this incredibly difficult journey. I can visit any time of the day and night and I am always met with a smile. The staff go beyond what is expected of them and genuinely care about their residents. I feel very fortunate to have found Safe Harbour as I navigate this awful disease. The staff are so knowledgeable of dementia - my husband was refused daycare at a previous home in Heswall - even though they had a dementia floor - Safe Harbour embraced him as a daycare patient prior to his admission. I would recommend Safe Harbour without hesitation.
My mum had been in safe harbour for 20 months before she passed away this month. I cannot praise the staff enough they go above and beyond to take so much care of everyone and are very supportive of the resident's family. I feel so lucky that I found safe harbour and would highly recommend it to anyone.
I find Safe Harbuor very friendly and the staff are always glad to help. My husband is being looked after very well. He seems to be happy and becoming more animated and takes part in activities especially when it involves 60s music. The staff work hard as it must be difficult at times with all the different personalities to deal with.
My husband seems very happy healthy and content with his new home. All your staff are very kind and supportive. He is much safer living with you in his diagnosis than our lovely Poppyfields which is so open and large. We thank all of you for his care. I feel much more content knowing that he is safe and enjoy the little videos that you sent me. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. It was very kind of you to allow our family to have tea together with my husband in the dining room, so thank you all again.
Mum has been a resident here since 2020. She moved in the midst of the national lockdown, and it was a very difficult time. She settled surprisingly well as she has advanced dementia and the staff have always been fabulous with both her and me. I get regular updates regarding any medical reviews or medicine changes and photos (when she's in the mood for one). I can't fault the staff or the facilities. There are regular themed days and entertainment and residents are encouraged to join in but not pressured if they aren't in the mood. I am very pleased that she is here as she is happy and settled.
My husband has dementia and has been at Safe Harbour for more than a year now. The care he has received during this time has been excellent. The staff are all amazing. He has always been treated with kindness, understanding and respect. They take time to listen to his rambles and interact with him. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere within the home and they have always made me feel welcome when visiting my husband which I can do anytime. His room is always spotless and he’s well dressed and shaved. I have also been impressed with the wide range of activities provided for residents and all are included whatever their ability. They provide a variety of food and cater for wide range of needs. Thanks to everyone at Safe Harbour. You’re definitely the best and a true Home from Home.
We have used Safe Harbour for both respite and daycare periods for my wife. On every occasion, the team ensured that both myself and my wife were completely at ease. I must add, however, that my wife also attends weekly for a daycare session and is already familiar with the staff. At first glance you might feel that the fabric of the building could use a “lick of paint” but don’t be fooled as that is only superficial, Safe Harbour has its priorities in the right place, ensuring that the service users are looked after. My wife has some complex dietary needs but everything is taken care of without any fuss. Everyone of the staff I have met has been cheerful, courteous, helpful and supportive. My wife is always happy to attend daycare and I feel totally comfortable in leaving her in their safe hands.
After 4 difficult months in her first residential care home, Mum moved to Safe Harbour in early November. In the past 6 weeks Mum’s wit, energy and spirit have returned. Mum’s become more engaged in her care and enjoys participating in the wide range of social activities. Mum’s eating hot meals again, it’s such a joy to see her tucking into food after several months of declining. Mum’s allowing the care team to assist with her personal care, whereas in her previous care home, this was always distressing for her and difficult to achieve. I can’t fault the team of carers, support staff and management at Safe Harbour, their knowledge of dementia care, their sensitive, skilful approach and their excellent care and patience have enabled Mum to feel safe and have enabled her to build up trust and develop a sense of belonging. We were encouraged to bring in her own bedroom furniture and fill the walls with photos of her loving family, so she really does feel safe and at home. Safe Harbour really does live up to its name!
My mother has been in Safe Harbour for nearly eighteen months now with dementia. Living in London, I rely on the staff to keep me up to date, which they do brilliantly. The apprehension of putting a parent into a dementia home was quickly relieved when I saw how well Mum had taken to it. She loves the care and attention. She is always well-presented. The home does its best to keep doing interesting things for the resident's safety. I am kept advised of any small thing that Mum has. I couldn't ask for more. The home itself is clean and tidy, and Mum's room is very nice. It has been a tremendous relief for myself and my brothers to have found somewhere where she is happy.
Safe Harbour is such a caring environment with lovely staff. It makes such an emotional time that bit easier. I’m so pleased my mum is safe and settled. They really know how to manage dementia and how to meet her needs. I feel so welcome too.
Caring, confident, competent and responsive. Always on top of a situation, calling in expertise when necessary. Lovely, cheerful and loving staff. Well-managed and led with staff showing a high level of motivation, determination and respect.
Dad has been a resident here now since June 2022 and the quality of care he’s receiving and the staff are excellent. Nothing is ever too much trouble and every member of the team we’ve encountered has been great. Really well managed and the communication with us as a family is excellent.
Excellent care - Brother always clean and content. Makes dreadful conditions easier to cope with. Staff very good. I have some experience over my lifetime, visiting other places and this definitely right place t look after Brother. Well done to staff and management.
Since my dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia in his 60s, we have struggled to find appropriate support. Many homes that claimed to offer dementia support could not cope with my dad’s “wandering”, and his worsening cognitive ability inside a fit and active body. Safe Harbour has been the only residential facility where staff have been unfazed by my dad’s needs. As a specialist dementia setting for EMI residential (and nursing), staff are capable and positive about calming, distracting and reassuring my dad when he is confused and distressed. Nobody wants to face the reality of putting a loved one into care. But our distress was worsened by finding so few settings that were willing to work with us as we took this next step. Finding Safe Harbour was a blessing, and we are grateful to the staff for all that they do. Thank you.
