View Full Details of Davenham Hall Nursing HomeAll the staff speak to me, cleaners, laundry, clerical, care staff all say "hello", include me in any social activities, and give me numerous cups of tea. My friend came into palliative care in September and was not expected to see Christmas its now New Year. I stay with my friend during treatment (have lived in with him for 7 months as a voluntary carer) and staff listen to him and take his concerns seriously. He seems as happy as possible under circumstances. I would be happy as a resident if needed to.
I found the home to be very clean and homely. The staff are all really lovely and look after mum very well.
My aunt has been in the home for a while now and couldn't get any better care anywhere. The staff are very caring and pleasant, the home is kept clean to a high standard and the food is excellent so glad that we were able to get her in the home
Took dad a while to settle but seems fine now. The staff are always pleasant, and willing to listen to any questions I have. There is always someone around making sure residents are safe. In all everything seems good dad says they look after him well.
The care given to Mum is excellent. She often says she is very well looked after. There is a homely feel at Davenham Hall and the staff have taken the time to get to know Mum and to understand her needs.
My mother was admitted on 22/5/24 for CHC care on a permanent basis. Overall standard is good and she is quietly content after settling in. She has lived at home all her life and we were apprehensive to see how she would take to being in a home. Staff are polite and seem very competent with no major issues so far and overall our family are happy she is being looked after with the best care possible.
My wife recently became a permanent resident at the Barns following a 2-week respite stay. She has settled in really well throughout what was a very traumatic time for us both. She is well looked after by a very caring staff who constantly have to face numerous challenges on a daily basis. Overall services are excellent including the food and there are many planned activities with no pressure at all to take part. Most of all she appears happy within herself which is a great relief.
I am really happy with the level of care dad receives at Davenham Hall. Dad is happy and settled, he enjoys the activities very much. The staff are all really friendly and caring. It is so good to know that he is being looked after so well in such a safe and happy environment.
We have been delighted with the care support and reassurance given to us by both the manager and all the staff as my mother-in-law makes the transition from living independently to living in a residential home. They have done everything to help her settle in and it is a huge relief to us that she is in such a lovely environment and is safe and being well looked after.
Whenever visiting, there's always a warm welcome from the staff. It feels like home. During the week there's usually some sort of activity for the residents to join in. Mum's feedback; the rooms are lovely, the food is good, the staff are friendly - what more can you ask for!
We are delighted that our aunt is now living at Davenham Hall. All the staff are pleasant and caring, allowing us to relax and know that our elderly relative is in safe hands. A recent fall was dealt with quickly and appropriately with all communication and updates in a timely manner. Would certainly recommend this facility to anyone looking for care for a friend or relative. The house and grounds are delightful and well maintained which adds to the overall atmosphere of calm.
Since Mum moved into The Barns I have felt so satisfied with the care given by the staff and the atmosphere in the home. It is such a friendly relaxed atmosphere yet the residents are still getting the care they need. Dementia is so difficult to experience but the staff always go that little bit extra to make each resident feel valued and special. Although I am under no illusion that my Mum will recover, it gives me peace of mind that she will receive the best care possible while she remains at the home.
Dad is very happy and well looked after at Davenham Hall and considers the staff to be his friends. I recently took him out in the car and as we arrived back at the Hall he commented 'home sweet home'.
The staff are lovely, caring and patient with the residents. They have frequent activities on and get the residents engaged/participating. The food is very appetizing and homemade and varied which is great.
Very happy with the care provided by the staff at Davenham Hall. They were very accommodating when Dad needed urgent respite care in December 2023 and, given how well Dad has now settled, the stay has become permanent. There were a few bumps in the road initially, but they were dealt with swiftly and professionally, with Dad's safety at the centre of all decisions. Dad previously had a brief stay at Davenham Hall many years ago and I was very pleasantly surprised by the number of staff still there (and who all remembered Dad which was really nice). The facilities (bedrooms, lounges, dining room) are excellent, the food seems good and the activities great fun. All the staff are helpful and seem to really care. Dad is the second relative of mine to have care at Davenham Hall. My aunt was admitted a few years back and it turned out to be end-of-life care - she was treated with dignity and the situation was handled sympathetically.
Mum receives kind, gentle and professional service from the care team, who also manage to treat her, and her visitors, as individuals and show a sense of humour. Visitors are always made welcome - especially the children! Entertainment/therapy sessions are excellent. Medical issues are identified quickly and GP visits are arranged as necessary. Nurses keep us advised of issues.
My relative has been a resident of Davenham Hall for four years. The staff are excellent in their duty of care, and make sure the family are well informed at all times of any concerns that may arise. The recent refurbishment is of a high standard, and very comfortable for the residents and visitors. The regular weekly activities are varied and enjoyed by everybody. Very well organised. The grounds are maintained to a high standard and it’s relaxing to sit outside during the summer months, which benefits the residents, enabling them to enjoy the outdoors. A well-recommended care home.
Mum moved into Davenham Hall in November and since then she has been looked after by caring, thoughtful and respectful staff. She has been encouraged to join in with activities and has thoroughly enjoyed singing along with the CDs and choir. Staff are very easily approachable and knowledgeable and are willing to discuss changing needs. I have peace of mind knowing that she is safe and thriving.
Staff are courteous but obviously very busy. Overall good care is taken of my sister although the food does not always meet her personal requirements Sometimes extremely difficult to get through on the telephone.
Myself and the wider family are all extremely pleased about and impressed at the standard of care my mum has received in The Barns. The staff are all genuinely caring and attentive to my mum's needs. I'm very impressed with the amount of, and varied activities that are provided to help stimulate Mum. Any doubts about whether The Barns was the right place for Mum were quickly dispelled by the care and attention of the staff to Mum.
