View Full Details of Chapel FieldsMy mum moved into Chapel Fields with dementia, it was a very distressing time for us all but the staff at Chapel Fields were so kind and supportive from the start. They made a very difficult move bearable, we could ring or call in at any time. She enjoyed lovely meals, her clothes were always immaculate and clean on every day. Her hair was always styled which was so important to her. She enjoyed music therapy very much and was always keen to join in various activities despite her dementia. She had a very strong Christian faith which was nurtured the whole time she was there with regular services and every religious occasion celebrated. The last weeks of her life the staff made her so comfortable and let me and my sister stay with her the whole week. They we so gentle and kind and very respectful. My dad was also in Chapel Fields for a shorter period and also spent his final days there. Again, he was so well looked after in a beautiful clean room and again we stayed with him and were treated so kindly. We will always be grateful in particular to 3 staff members. Our experience and the care they gave to our parents is something we will always treasure.
My father was in Chapel Fields for the last 9 months of his life. I think it's a lovely care home, some of the staff members really got to know my dad, some found it harder to communicate with him. He had to have 1:1 care for the final 4 months and it was extremely reassuring to know he was being so closely monitored. The management team were helpful and supportive when we applied for continuing healthcare funding (based on clinical need). I tasted the food numerous times and it was generally good, especially the Sunday roast! The staff were helpful and I got to know some of them quite well. The only one negative experience I had was on the day my father died, I have emailed my feedback about that to the management, although am awaiting a response. On the whole, I would have no hesitation in recommending Chapel Fields to anyone who is considering it, and if I had responsibility for any more family members (which fortunately I don't) I wouldn't hesitate to move them in too.
My aunt has been a resident at Chapel Fields Care Home for 2 years. The nursing staff have been excellent in caring for her medical needs. She has always been treated with dignity. Her room is due to be decorated and refurbished in the next few months. Activities excellent and good choice of food on the menu.
The staff are welcoming and wonderful. I feel my aunt is in good hands.
Mum is happy in the home, the staff are lovely and the facilities good, although Mum doesn't use any of them. Any issues have been dealt with satisfactorily.
We as a family are confident that our mum is being well looked after at Chapel Fields.
Such a well-run home, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The care delivered is second to none and they go out of their way to meet the needs of all of the residents. The management team should be very proud.
My mother is well looked after and cared for. She is encouraged to attend activities and join in community outings. More information regarding changes in medical and personal care requirements needs to be passed on to family e.g. pressure sores and cleanliness.
My mother was left in her room alone, in a wheelchair with no safety pressure mat/alarm in place and the buzzer on the floor out of reach, feet plates up, no footwear, dirty duvet, a jug of water out of reach and no glass. The records from the daily report incorrect - the last comment was 4 hours previous saying 'settled in the lounge'. The nurse in overall charge was informed and not actioned. I alerted the staff. This took place after two formal complaints and meetings with management.
I visited a dear friend of mine today. I have to express how impressed I was. What a lovely, homely environment and the staff were so friendly and caring. It is such a relief and comfort to know my friend is being so well cared for. Thank you all so very much.
My partner has been in Chapel Fields Care Home for approximately three weeks. She is very settled, perfectly happy and is enjoying her time here. In the short time we have known Chapel Fields, we are happy with the services that they offer.
Sometimes dishes aren't suitable for residents' needs.
As a family, we were dreading putting our nan/mum into a home and not being able to see or spend time with her as much. But Chapel Fields Care Home has been so supportive, allowing us to visit as often as we would like and spend as much time with her as wanted. Nan always seems happy and is always busy joining in with all her activities. We never thought she'd settle as quickly as she has and we are so thankful for all the amazing staff at Chapel Fields and their kindnesses.
I am very pleased with the care both Mum and Dad are getting.
A lovely and welcoming environment with staff who are so friendly and helpful.
My mum spent ten months at Chapel Fields Care Home and received the most excellent care during her time there. As a family, we were distraught when we had to finally admit her - we could no longer cope with her condition (vascular dementia). The staff were without exception so caring and helpful throughout Mum's stay. The food was excellent and her room was comfortable. Sadly, Mum passed away in February and the staff supported us so well during those last few days - we could not have coped without them. They are all angels.
My father became a resident in March 2022. It was an extremely difficult decision but one which now we know was the right one. The staff are extremely professional and very caring, and we are happy that all of his needs are being catered for. On a recent visit, he told us that he wouldn't want to be anywhere else now as he feels safe and secure! Recently he has experienced more health issues, but we are kept informed of these at all times. The kindness and support shown to us by the staff is excellent. Thank you so much.
I have only known the home during Covid so hard to make a fully informed assessment. All I can say is staff seem considerate and caring and my mum generally seems content. In terms of the quality of care, difficult to be definitive but the home appears to do its best. Overall, I am happy with the care provided.
My mother has been in the home for the last ten months. I feel my mother is in a safe, secure environment where she is well looked after by all the staff. Although bed-bound, she is always included in any of the occasions/celebrations that the home partakes in which has helped my mother settle into life in a home.
My mother-in-law moved into Chapel Fields Care Home during the pandemic and as such, we were unable to view the home first. However, the decision to locate her there has proven to be the right choice. She is settled and very well cared for by the lovely staff, who have helped her adapt to life in a care home.
