View Full Details of Belong MacclesfieldMy wife has better social interactions than if at home. Her personal care is handled better. She is given good loving care, which I think more than compensates for her deprivation of liberty. For me to give this level of support 24/7 would have been daunting.
I visit every six weeks or so and find the staff extremely friendly and helpful. I'm recognised, which is lovely, and generally offered a drink. Usually, Dad is comfortable and happy, well cared for. He is often asleep. There have been occasions when I have not known the staff because they were agency staff and I have found them less interested and caring but this time has been better.
Excellent social interaction however some of the basic standards of care required, e.g. personal hygiene, ensuring clothing that clearly needs washing is washed and ensuring basic hygiene items are always in every room. This was during Christmas but the standards should not be allowed to slip. This is not typical - for the past two years, we have been extremely satisfied with everything Belong has done.
All staff encountered display courtesy, professionalism and empathy when engaging with their residents. My mother was greeted like an old friend and continues to enjoy being spoiled every day. The range of activities offered to her is wide-ranging - from games and quizzes to singing and going on trips out. Every time I visit I am regaled with tales of what she has been up to in the previous week or two. Premises and facilities are well presented and maintained. The 'house' she resides in has a lovely south-facing balcony area, large lounge area with TV and a comfortable dining area. Her bedroom is a good size and the en-suite wet room is spacious. The small household model gives it a family feel and I'm sure, puts residents at ease.
Belong Macclesfield has been my mum's home for the last four years. Throughout all this time, the staff and management have continually exceeded expectations, showing such kindness, care and empathy to both Mum and our family. They make my mum feel special and deeply loved. Everyone stops to talk to her and they somehow know the right words to use - whether to make her laugh or to just lift up her spirits when needed. We are so grateful to each and every person, regardless of job title, who strives to do their very best, day in and day out.
Mum has been living at Belong for five months and had home services before that. The staff in her house have been and are amazing. They do not just "offer support services" to my mum but they care about her, her happiness and comfort. I feel that Mum is living with extended family who have, in turn, become part of my family. I cannot think of anywhere else that I would want Mum to be. Well done to everyone.
Always a friendly greeting at the front desk. Lots of meaningful and fun activities. Household staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I have appreciated their concern for my husband and I while I have been ill. Bistro is a great place to socialise and have a lunch or snack. We have been overwhelmed by my husband's Christmas presents. Very thoughtful gifts.
Mum has been a resident for nearly three years and we have got a lot of respect for all the staff and carers on her support, her welfare is well catered for. Some of the internal amenities could do with a little TLC, can not give examples as it's an overall impression. To conclude, perfectly satisfied with all aspects.
Mum has been at Belong Macclesfield for 10 months. It was a massive adjustment for her and for us but throughout it all, the Belong staff, care staff, nursing staff, managers and also reception staff, activities staff, catering staff and others. They have all been amazing. We have never doubted their focus and commitment to Mum's health and happiness. Nothing has been too much trouble. Any concerns we have had have been responded to promptly and compassionately informed of all issues pertaining to Mum's care. It feels like a genuine partnership between family and staff, even to the point of feeling like Mum is staying with extended family. Well done Belong! You set a high standard and I feel privileged that Mum lives with you. Thank you.
My wife has been in Belong Macclesfield for just over 2 years. She has dementia and suffered a major stroke just prior to entering Belong. I have, sadly, much experience with other care homes with other relatives in the past and can honestly say that none has offered such care as Belong. The staff are consistently caring, helpful, and friendly and I know that my wife will be safe in their care.
The people who I dealt with are very pleasant and helpful. Everywhere looks clean and well-decorated. It's nice to go down to the bistro for coffee and its different surroundings.
We have a very good experience of working closely with Mim's carers so that we deal with anything that crops up, i.e. 'partnership'! Clearly, I am not there at eating times but one thing she does enjoy is a shepherd's pie - may sound trivial but I hope it's on the menu, i.e. tasty and easy to eat with a fork. Fruit and custard is another favourite!
Excellent, caring environment. Helpful staff and a positive atmosphere. Cafe in the foyer is a large bonus and the food is good. Highly recommend, we would not want to be anywhere else.
My parents were residents in Oak House and I have spent many long days and nights there. The kindness that I observed from every single employee was continuous and beyond exceptional. I always left Belong feeling so incredibly thankful that my parents were there where they were taken care of with an abundance of love and warmth. Of course, I felt guilty for living so far away but I can honestly say that I think they were happier there than they would have been in any of my siblings or my home. They felt Belong was their home. My parents would not mince words or give praise if it was not due and I never once heard them complain. In fact, my dad would proudly whisper in my ear, “Isn’t it nice here?” They were always treated with the utmost respect and their dignity was maintained throughout. I cannot adequately thank all the staff in Oak House, the nurses, the receptionists and any other staff involved who gave care to my parents. You make a difference. You are the best!
My mother and father were in Belong for the last two years. If there were another 10 stars available then Belong Macclesfield would get them. Staff are personable, well trained and extremely kind to all. My parents were treated as family members in the home and thus were so happy there and swiftly settled. It was home from home for them. The rooms are spacious and well laid out. The housekeeping/kitchen dining set-up is wonderfully practical and resident friendly too. Nothing is too much trouble. Having experienced previous homes, this was just a different level which was so reassuring. Systems for medication and doctor's visits are excellent allowing for swift reviews or changes to care. The care we also got as relatives was also very supportive and responsive. The cafe set-up is also great and allows for an easy change of scene without having to go far. Thank you Belong for looking after our parents so well, you’ve been wonderful and we really appreciate it.
A good transition from home, thanks to admin staff and staff in Cedar House. Particularly impressed by staff in Cedar House; kind, patient and proactive. Excellent attitude to residents and visitors. Same applies in the Bistro. Ample opportunities for residents to snack between meals; a bowl of fresh fruit would be a nice addition if feasible.
Mum broke her hip in October 2023, since then household care staff in Oak have put in place a care plan of emotional and physical reassurance for both Mum and me. Hip op was cancelled due to complexity and so Mum has had to manage with a raised shoe. Through the care and support of staff in the household, Mum is beginning to walk with the aid of a walking frame. Two care staff to assist presently but hopefully, now Mum is strong, they will soon reduce to one staff member. Fitness training support from Belong Macclesfield, two times per week, is most welcome and helping Mum's progress.
My mother-in-law has been receiving dementia nursing care at Belong Macclesfield for just over twelve months. The facilities and the household set up for residents is fantastic and not something I have seen at other care homes that I visited before choosing Belong. In addition, the care provided by all staff is unparalleled with staff providing excellent personal care and generating a warm, loving, environment for all residents within each household.
Witnessing the decline through Alzheimer's of such a loving and loved woman, our magical mom and the love of our dad's life, has been indescribable and a real struggle. When my sister, our untiring girl-on-the-ground advocate, managed to secure a place in Willow House 16 months ago or so, we were so relieved. I live on the other side of the world, which limits the frequency and length of my visits, but through family descriptions, videos, pictures and my own visits I've experienced the warmth, specialist care and humour of all at Belong. They've helped us navigate the emotions and practicalities of this awful disease; Mom and our whole family are so respected and valued by the Belong family. We pinch ourselves that this kind of support is even possible and no words can thank everyone enough for what they do and how they do it. They turn up every day, helping our wonderful mom retain dignity in her dimming twilight and we feel her caring angels really do love her.
A family member is a resident of Willow for dementia care. The staff go above and beyond in relation to their care. Their genuine interest and concern for the welfare of residents in their care shines through. They offer constant reassurance and support to not only the residents but also the family and friends of each resident. The overall quality of care is excellent. Whilst the building and facilities provided are very good, it is the quality of care provided by the staff that makes this home so good. They provide the optimum quality of life for their residents. Well done and thank you for caring.
