View Full Details of Loxley Hall Nursing and Residential HomeLoxley Hall and all the wonderful carers that worked there looked after Mum and her every need during the last years of her life. They were attentive and considerate - be it medication or personal care by organising little things like a hairdresser, painting Mum's nails, which were important to her, and made her feel better in herself. When we called on the phone they would take the phone to her and hold to her ear, when she could no longer do that herself. Personal touches and nothing was too much trouble. There were also many great activities for social interaction when Mum was well enough to join in. A very memorable touch was the Christmas lunch for family to come and have that very special meal together in Loxley.
My mum was suffering with dementia and only spent one week at Loxley Hall for end of life care. We could not have wished for a more caring place for Mum to pass away peacefully with her family at her bedside. All the staff were incredibly supportive to us all and treated Mum so kindly - for which I will be forever thankful.
Both my godparents were residents at Loxley Hall Nursing and Residential Home, my godmother for 5 and half years and godfather for 1 and half years, both passed away in 2024. I cannot praise anyone or anything highly enough. Care, compassion and love are the 3 words I can use to express my thanks to all at Loxley. Also their kindness and love towards me. Oh and laughter, always someone laughing.
My mum spent her last few months at this wonderful care home, having fallen and broken both hips in a previous home It was decided due to her growing needs she would need more nursing care. Mum had vascular dementia too. The brilliant and caring staff and the warmth within Loxley Hall were fantastic, they cared and listened and supported. Mum was safe and happy. Exceptional home! Thank you just isn't enough.
For the short period mum was in Loxley Hall Nursing and Residential Home, the staff were very caring. The staff couldn't do enough to help, mum was bed bound and needed a lot of care and attention.
The staff and management were amazing. They cared for mum at the highest level. Mum was treated with upmost dignity at the end of her life, which we will always be grateful. They also looked after the family making it a calm experience.
Your whole team have been so kind, helpful and efficient. From the time we arrived, you have always been helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Every detail was delivered with a smile. As a family, we really appreciate all you have done. Thank you.
Mum has been in Loxley since December 2018 and I cannot praise and thank the staff enough for all they have done and keep doing for Mum, the personal care, the hugs and time they give her. Loxley has a great friendly feeling everyone knows each other and more importantly, all staff know my mum so well. The staff has stayed consistent over the past nearly 6 years which In my view shows it's a happy place to be. Nothing is too much trouble, very approachable, keep you well informed and most of all the care they give Mum is wonderful! It is reassuring to the family knowing that Mum is safe, well cared for, and fully trusts all staff at Loxley. Thank you for all that you do.
Very good all-round - no complaints. Cannot find anything to complain about. Good home to be looked after.
Like moving into a five-star hotel.
This is a genuine review from a grateful family. My mum was fortunate enough to join the community of Loxley Hall Nursing Care Home in 2023 following three years in a care home and a short stay in the hospital. The staff and the home, in our view, extended Mum's life beyond what was expected by giving proper care, love and attention to her until she eventually passed away. From the senior staff to the carers themselves, the place always felt friendly and had a happy and professional vibe. We never had any concerns and were, in fact, reassured that Mum was being looked after so well. We often walked along Mum's corridor unannounced to hear staff singing and chatting with her. We only have nice things to say about Loxley Hall and particularly the staff. Keep it up.
Loxley Hall cared for my mum for the past two years till she passed away on February 17th 2023. Everyone of the staff in this home cared for my mum they gave her all the care and attention she needed but above all that they gave her love and dignity. I cannot praise everybody enough from the bottom of my heart I thank you. They also helped me through the end with support and loads of hugs Thank you.
On arrival, gran was in bed with only her top half dressed. On browsing through her care diary which was on hand I noticed she hadn't had a bed bath for five days. When I queried this I was told she only has one once a week. I am intrigued to know when/how often she gets a shower or a bath. We had to ask for her to be hoisted out and into her chair, as I had asked her, she said she wanted to get up. Gran has capacity and deserves to have a choice and be heard. When carers were supporting her out of bed she was talking to them but they were ignoring her. I was upset to see she wasn't in the lounge and noticed her legs are very stiff and seem to have ceased up due to being restricted to her bed. Also, I am very worried about bedsores.
My aunt, who was 97, was in Loxley Hall for the last five months of her life and I couldn't have been more glad of my choice for her. The atmosphere was that of a family. Everyone knew my aunt, from the Manager to the Maintenance Operative. I felt that she was safe, well cared for and cared about at all times. Not only were there great care and nursing staff but the lovely ladies in admin were just as empathetic and always had time for me and my queries. Communication was imperative as I live a long distance. Calls were made when needed and a hug also came my way when needed. My only regret is that she hadn't gone there earlier, as the stimulation and activities provided would have enhanced her life enormously. Thank you so much Loxley Hall, I cannot praise you highly enough.
The staff are brilliant, very friendly and look after the people really good.
Our mum has complex needs and all the nurses, care staff, housekeepers, Manager and Deputy Manager all contributed to her excellent care. They are kind, person-centred and skilled and ensure our mum's dignity is respected at all times. The activities coordinator is exceptional in how he supports the residents, especially where visiting has been so limited due to covid. The Manager and Deputy Manager are approachable and supportive to mum and us as her family. We feel very confident in our mum's care.
Loxley Hall continues to look after my dad and give him the best care. He has been in several homes and I cannot compare them to Loxley. During the pandemic, the Manager and the team have worked tirelessly to ensure the residents are safe and protected. My family and I feel comfortable that my Dad is well cared for. I often receive photos and updates from the carers, which really puts my mind at ease. I cannot thank them enough. I would highly recommend Loxley to anyone considering the difficult decision of choosing a care home.
When looking for a care home for my mother-in-law nearly five years ago, Loxley Hall was by far the obvious choice. From the moment we walked into the building, it had a lovely, warm, homely feeling. From that first day, the staff have been amazing. My father-in-law visited my mother-in-law each day until she sadly passed away in May 2021. He was made to feel so welcome when visiting. My mother-in-law thought the world of every member of staff and they couldn’t do enough for her, to make her feel at home. They showed her complete respect and dignity until the end and as a family, they supported us immensely. A couple of months before my mother-in-law passed away my father-in-law joined her at Loxley and they made their last few months together so memorable to which we are eternally grateful. The staff are the most, caring courteous people that you would want to look after your loved one, to which we are truly thankful. Thank you to everyone at Loxley Hall.

The staff were superb, they were so friendly and welcoming and treated mum with dignity and respect. They always made time to discuss each stage of mum's care. I really can't convey how reassured I was that mum was at Loxley for her final days. Thank you.
My father was at Loxley Hall for over two years and has recently passed away. I am so happy he spent his last days with such kind and loving people who not only cared for him but for his family too. They are a credit to the care industry who do not often get positive recognition. Thank you all for your hard work, patience and dedication.
