View Full Details of Rowans Care CentreSince mum joined the residents at the Rowans, we feel we have an extended family. The staff and management team are very caring and understanding of mum needs, mum has Parkinson's and Parkinson's dementia and has other needs which the staff are always there to help her with. As a family we feel we can have quality time with Mum, Dad loves having his lunch with mum and a brew is always available
My mother-in-law has been cared for with dignity for about 20 months, since June 2023, in the Rowans. The staff look after her very well and the food is always nice. Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff try to meet her needs. They always have her safety at the forefront and try their utmost to keep her as content and comfortable at all times. Thank you for all you help, care and best wishes.
Good care home but could do with improvement, activities not always carried out very limited. Most staff are very good some put on the ones who are very good and dedicated, kitchen staff excellent nothing to much trouble. Most staff are very friendly. On the whole a good care home.
The staff are brilliant and always take care of me when I visit my mum. They are looking after my mother very well and taking care of all her needs. They are all stars and do an amazing job.
A very friendly cheerful home, all staff from kitchen, cleaners, carers and managers are friendly polite, and efficient. Sometimes my mother has to wait for attention but never long enough that I have to go looking for staff. The grounds need to be tidier but this is a small point but would be nice to see it improved plenty of car park availability at the home with spaces for your car at a very local shop if needed, overall I would recommend the Rowans, good value, great care, well done!
Mum was fortunate to get a place at the Rowans Care Centre for intermediate care following hospitalisation. We realised that her frailty meant that a permanent care home would best fulfil her needs and mum has now moved to a lovely spacious room and is settling nicely. The staff are wonderful; very attentive to her needs, very caring and kind and can't do enough for her. We are kept well informed of all developments; kept well in the loop. It has been an enormous relief to me as her carer for the last 10 years! Thank you all!
We have been made to feel welcome, like one of the family since my husband was admitted. The care he is receiving is very good.
My 95-year-old mother was admitted to hospital after breaking her left hip. She was transferred to the Rowans Care Centre after 5 days. She was very fragile, unsteady and didn't eat or drink much. She is quite difficult to deal with. She slipped away quietly at the Rowans. Care was satisfactory.
My life in Rowans Care Home is very good. I am really well looked after and cared for by very nice staff, who make sure all my needs are met and make time to chat with me. My room is light, airy, spacious and and kept very clean. Menus are well thought out and there is always enough choice, even if I would like something different. Residents' special celebrations are done with a lot of thought, consideration and hard work. Thank you! I would like more crafts/arts/activities on the timetable please. It would also be good if recycling could be done on-site.
A very friendly and caring environment which is difficult to fault. Inside, the home is very light and spacious and generally well maintained. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. The grounds are not quite so well maintained but it is clear that money is spent where it is most needed - on the inside and on care.
I can only pass on positive feed back from my experiences of all aspects, areas and departments of the home. The staff are all very approachable, friendly, competent, caring, patient, experienced and go above and beyond their line of duties to ensure residents feel at home. I am extremely happy that my Mother in law is in their care and feel reassured on every level. Well done to everyone! I'm very grateful. I know as her previous carer for many years just how much hard work is involved!
Initially when arrived at the home from hospital, staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large, well maintained, and well equipped. Daily cleaning of your room with excellent attention to detail. Handful of care staff are very friendly and a credit to the home, along with a number of nurses, as cannot do more for you. Only downside here is not all staff are as caring and focused on your needs required. Food and drinks are available at all times, and if there is something you fancy that isn't on the menu they will do there best to accommodate. Only issue is, I found hair within the food a number of times. Activities are an area of improvement needed, as didn't really witness many happening, or tended to be the same repeated handful of activities only. Manager could be more hands on and visible on the floor of the home day to day, as often spend most time in the office. Overall the home needs areas of improvement, which is a shame as few staff are an asset and keep the home going
The people at the Rowans have been so caring for Mum. Couldn't have asked for nicer people the care is outstanding and so confident at all times, that nothing is any trouble. Thank you for your love and support. A particular carer and the full team are outstanding in their work.
From the first visit to the Rowans Care Centre, one staff member in particular and the team were very pleasant and helpful showing us around and explaining all that any patient requires. Mum arrives and was welcome and soon settled in to lovely care home. Mum was a little nervous of the new environment and one staff member in particular took the time going the extra mile to reassure mum and that was very much appreciated along with all other team members. They all shine and look after all at the home. It's a truly amazing place with very hardworking staff. Thank you, you made our mum's experience perfect and lovely.
My mother-in-law is very well looked after in the Rowan Care Centre. She is 91, has dementia and mobility issues, but is always delighted when she sees a staff member. We are very grateful for the amazing care she has from 3 carers in particular and the rest of the staff that cares for her. Thank you.
My father was a resident at the Rowans for over 3 years, he was treated just like family by all the staff. He couldn't have been looked after better, the care provided was wonderful, the homemade food amazing along with the incredible homemade celebration cakes produced by the extremely talented kitchen staff on his birthday! This gave my mother and myself peace of mind that he was so well provided for and was happy in his surroundings. We cannot recommend the Rowans highly enough for anyone who has a family member needing care.
1. Showers - should be 2 times a week minimum, not once. 2. Bed sheets not being changed except when wet or soiled. 3. The room floor is not properly mopped or clean. Large spiders walking around! 4. Personal care is slow, especially at handovers, which is when I want to get up. 5. Door banging all the time - needs a snubber. 6. Burning fat smell from the kitchen every mealtime. 7. 'Continental' staff do not know what 'gluten-free' means. 8. No privacy - staff came into the room whether I was on the toilet or having a wash.
My mum has been a resident here for a while now and since her time here she seems completely relaxed and settled. The staff are exceptional in their care and attention shown since my mum moved here. I was less than impressed with her former care home so I was a little apprehensive about Rowans but I needn't have been as they are 1st class in every aspect of the care they give. Can't recommend them enough for the amazing job they do.
Although my mum was here for a short time before she passed away, we felt our choice of this care home, was the right one. We were shown kindness from the start by all staff and communication was excellent. Mum was well cared for and so were we.
My husband stayed at The Rowans for 4 weeks to recuperate following a hospital stay. The staff were very warm and caring and responsive to his needs which are quite complicated as he has multiple medical issues. He was treated with a lot of kindness and great respect. He enjoyed the food a lot too and there was a good choice and plenty of it.
