View Full Details of St Stephen's Care HomeMy Mother has been at St Stephen's for almost a year now and I feel confident she is being looked after very well. All staff (management, nurses, health care assistants, cleaners, and maintenance) are very friendly and caring to my Mother and do a fantastic job. Thank you!
From the moment we met the deputy manager for tea and biscuits, we were all spoken to honestly and with integrity. The staff and management have a high genuine level of care for residents and their families and friends. It feels like a close community where everybody is an integral part of the team. I was so relieved that my friend was in the best place and still had the freedom and independence to be his own person. Thank you for everything you have done, he is extremely happy.
We were advised to change Mum's home after her falling and breaking her hip. She went to St Stephen's when she came out of hospital. It was the right place for Mum to go. Since she has been there, she has put on weight and can now walk again due to the skills of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone is pleasant and caring. Can't praise them enough.
We would just like to say a heartfelt thank you from my family and me for the excellent care you gave my wonderful father in this most difficult time. It made such a huge difference too, having the support of such a professional and compassionate team. The atmosphere in St Stephen's is uplifting and friendly. Thank you all. We shall miss you.
The staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. If you need help or advice they always listen. They not only say that this is the resident's home by their family's home too. Very clean and comfy. My husband is always clean shaved and clean clothes on every day. Cannot fault anything.
My mum was admitted for observation from the hospital in early December. After two months in the hospital, Mum was deeply upset and confused, but within a few days, the wonderful carers in St Stephen's changed her mood totally. Now Mum is back to being the happy-go-lucky, cheerful person of old. Well done, St Stephen's
I cannot praise the staff at St Stephen's enough. My brother was in there for over two years. He suffered from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He couldn't do a thing for himself. The staff were so lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. The day he passed was made a beautiful and pain-free experience; it was very peaceful for him and us. I really can't thank them enough for the way they cared for him, also myself and his partner. This home deserves more than the stars I can give beautiful, caring people.
The staff who look after Mum are wonderful, kind and caring. I sometimes think there is not enough staff on for the number of residents. I have mentioned several times about the home looking tired and in desperate need of updating. The residents' rooms need decorating and updating badly! The kitchen for the staff and residents' relatives is falling to pieces, a new kitchen is needed desperately!
My mother is being cared for in an excellent manner by an exceptional group of carers. Everyone who works at St Stephen's is wonderful, and I extend a great thank you to all of them. My mother is happy, first and foremost, but she is also safe, clean and settled in her environment. It takes away a great burden from my shoulders knowing she is getting the best care in a place she feels safe and happy in. Thank you.
It is difficult to review as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic. Mum has been kept safe, well and clean. We have regularly window visited and the staff have been very helpful and supportive. I have always known Mum would receive the care she required throughout these very difficult times. This is due to all the staff at St Stephen's Care Home. Thank you.
The service provided during Covid has been excellent, particularly the performance of the staff. Staff are always on hand to answer questions which is reassuring. Overall, we are extremely happy with the care my mum is receiving.
The Staff have been extremely helpful in very trying circumstances, my mum has settled brilliantly the staff can't do enough for her. The food and environment are lovely she's back to her outgoing self. Although we know mum will never be what she was before the dementia set in it's so lovely to see her smile when on a WhatsApp call with the carers. Thank you all so much for your care and proactiveness with her care. My sisters and I have been really happy. We would definitely recommend you.
Dad was transferred from hospital to St Stephen's Court and it really was 'home from home'. The atmosphere was bright and friendly. The staff were very competent, compassionate and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. Dad could not have had better care anywhere, for which we are truly grateful.
My father has been a resident in St. Stephen's Care Home since November 2018. When my mother and I first visited the home prior to my father being admitted, we immediately felt reassured that it would be the right place for him. The atmosphere was just right, and the deputy manager made time to talk to us and show us around. The nursing staff and carers are second to none in the level of care they provide and they have always been most professional and caring. My father's room is decorated and appointed to a high specification and is pleasant and homely. All staff are welcoming and friendly and we are reassured that my father is being so well looked after.
St Stephen's is a very welcoming care home. The staff on reception make you welcome and are very helpful in all ways. The staff are amazing - very professional, caring, attentive and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them and it is evident that they are committed to the patients. We are kept well informed at all times. I have no concerns at all about St. Stephen's and would highly recommend it to anyone.
My mum arrived at the home in July 2018 straight from hospital. The staff talked through everything with us and explained everything that happens within the home. At every visit, the staff are always welcoming and you always feel you can ask them anything. My mum has Alzheimer's so cannot communicate well but she always seems content and settled, well fed, clean and looked after. Can't fault the home at all and would highly recommend to other families.
In December 2018 I was transferred from hospital to the nursing home with an 'end of life' assessment. The home was relaxing and unpressurized with their treatment being careful, effective and well managed. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and respectful, with a sense of humour. The rooms were cleaned well and anything faulty was corrected or removed. There was great effort to provide varied and substantial food. Drinks were frequent, both cold and hot. A wet room would be beneficial to any residents capable of using a shower. All visitors, family and friends were made to feel welcome. There were twice-weekly visits by extremely capable doctors, who listened assiduously and followed up with necessary help and advice. As my health improved, I was encouraged and support to go out and visit home. I am now in the process of being discharged from the care home but still enjoy returning to the care home for medication and examination by the doctors. I am very grateful for being transferred in December to a very caring establishment.
My mother has been a resident at St Stephen's for five months. Initially, she was very worried about her home but the staff made her welcome and comfortable very quickly. Any care home is only as good as the staff that work there. I have happily observed that my mother is treated with care and respect. The accommodation is light and airy and there is plenty of space for my mother to walk around.
Moving into a Care Home is not an easy decision but often a necessity. We all want the best care for our loved ones and at St Stephen's we found everything we could have asked for. From day one Mum was treated with understanding, dignity and kindness. She is nearing the end of her life now but we are content that she is supported and surrounded by a complete team of compassionate people. Her dietary needs, her personal hygiene, her medication, her social requirements and her living accommodation have been exemplary. Her daily needs are anticipated because the staff know and understand her. They go the extra mile, just as you would for your own family. We are grateful and humbled by their skill, dedication and support throughout a difficult time. We thank them sincerely for the ongoing support to Mum and our family.
