View Full Details of Thornton Manor Nursing HomeThis home offers an exceptionally high level of care to all the residents, the care team go above and beyond the level they offer. Having read recent newspaper reports of care homes giving poor care, I was appalled to see Thornton Manor included in a very poorly written article. The centre is clean, offers a high level of catering and is undergoing major upgrades that do not impact on the residents. My mum has been here for almost a year and we are truly grateful to all of the staff and the hard work they commit to.
My dad has been at Thornton for a few years now and has seen a wide range of improvements whilst there. There is so much for the residents to do if they choose, the staff are so friendly and caring. Unfortunately, my dad has to be in a nursing home but I am happy that it is Thornton.
No one plans to need to live in a care home, but if you do then Thornton Manor is as close to a home from home, with a family away from family as you are ever going to find. You might find posher looking care homes, but when the chips are down it's caring that matters. Thornton Manor tailor personalised care to each and every resident and staff member and it shows in how really challenged, sick residents get the very best fun, life and quality out of their lives. From animal farm, crazy golf, dancing, games, baking days art and crafts are the icing on the cake of good all-round quality nursing care...and it helps the staff are slightly bonkers, in the very best way possible, as they are up for fun and games or quiet times as the residents need. So glad we found this place.
Very pleased with the care my mum receives at Thornton Manor, the staff are brilliant with her. They treat her as though she's a member of their own family, kind and considerate. The improvements made recently are great, she was even seen playing crazy golf. I can't wait to be able to go back and play a game with her.
My husband has been at Thornton Manor since last July. At first, I didn't want him to go there because of the travelling for me but I am so glad I made the decision for him to go there. They are all like my 2nd family now. Loving and caring, dedicated staff.
I'm 37 and had to move here from where I lived due to a stroke. All the staff are friendly, and I'm glad I came to this home. Staff include you in things, they are reliable and treat me in a way I feel safe. I would recommend to any family looking for somewhere.
My daughter receives excellent care and support here. The staff are caring and professional. The manager is almost always available and seems to constantly planning and implementing activities and projects to entertain and improve life for the residents. My daughter is happy there, and that is the most important thing.
After some less than positive experiences in other establishments, the level of care offered by the outstanding staff of Thornton Manor is a joy to behold. Staff make time to form relationships with residents, which plays a huge part in establishing comfortable living for them. Nothing is too much trouble. Excellent.
My mum moved to Thornton Manor in February this year. I cannot praise the manager and all the staff enough. Everyone is so welcoming and reassuring to us as visitors. The care my mum is receiving is brilliant, the treatment she receives is respectful and genuinely caring. The atmosphere and ethos is warm, safe and relaxed. I feel mum is receiving the best care possible, I no longer worry about her as I know she is in good hands.
A marvellous care/nursing home my wife is an iconic lady by name, she is treated just the same as the other patients/residents, having suffered a medical negligence accident, her memory, balance and everything, thankfully with very good care from Thornton Manor Care Home. She recovered 90 percent, it's taken 3 years. I've travelled 1000 miles yearly to support my wife at 84 years, it's very hard.
