View Full Details of Winsford GrangeThe care home has improved over the last few months in many ways. Management, staff and building improvements in all areas. The care and attention to the clients is also much better. We would like to thank all staff on the units for their work and support and hope that those improvements will continue in the future. The home has a lot to give. The place has a nice feel when you walk in now and a much happier place all round.
My dad went into the home in February 2024 when it wasn't that good. NO organisation staffing was an issue - level of care was non-existent, the home wasn't a happy place then in June 2024 everything changed for the best. - The manager was removed a higher nurse and staff. A particular staff member was amazing confronting all the families saying things were on the the up after an awful time then we had a new manager. Wow what a change he has made, he is amazing, all staffing and nurses. It really is amazing the decoration is amazing and the staff are so much happier. :)
Christmas Day our daughter, son-in-law and myself had our dinner with my husband, we were warmly welcomed, had an excellent delicious meal, three courses, drinks all serviced by the activities staff and kitchen staff who had all worked on Christmas Day to look after and take care of the residents and their families. My husband thoroughly enjoyed having his family with him. I often have lunch with my husband which he loves me to do. I look forward to these meals which are always well-cooked, well-prepared and tasty with a good variety, fresh vegetables and a pudding. The care staff were attentive and helpful.
My wife came into Winsford Grange at the beginning of June 2024 after 3 weeks in hospital, prior to that, she had been in another care home for approximately 3 and a half years at which she was settled. My wife, at first, was placed on Austin wing which was unclean and messy, there was even an ants nest in her room of which I complained and she was moved. Since then, there has been a dramatic change at Winsford Grange. She was moved to Chaucer Wing, this has had a wonderful effect on her, after a few weeks she became happier and more content than at any time in a care home. This is without doubt down to all the staff on Chaucer.
Since July the home has had many improvements. The staff and residents seem happier. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. After attending meetings with the management I feel assured that they are continuing to improve the home to the high standards it should be.
My husband has settled very well on Winsford Grange. We have been kept informed of all that has related to his stay so far. Love the care home's social media page, it shows so many happy smiling residents,(including my husband). I can see so many positive improvements since he has been in the home since June. Thank you to all the hardworking staff.
I can’t fault the staff but the general upkeep of the place is terrible. The gardens are overgrown and walking towards the reception is covered in weeds and dead plants the place looks really rundown.
The staff are caring and professional even the girls that clean the rooms know all the residents and make them feel comfortable. The food is good and wholesome, the resident is always happy and well looked after.
My husband was a resident for 3-months, from June to September 2021. In the short time, he was there, he was well looked after and was always clean and tidy. Due to Covid, I could only visit twice a week, but the staff kept me informed between visits. Sadly he passed away peacefully in my arms, but the staff were very supportive at the time.
Very welcoming reception. Everything explained as to the process of the visit. Clean and friendly environment and the staff were so helpful and pleasant, making a wonderful experience for my mum and I. Thank you.
Mum receives excellent care at Winsford Grange. She is kept safe and clean and when I visit, she always seems happy. The first time in a long time she says she is ok instead of being in floods of tears like she was in her previous home. The staff are excellent and genuinely care about her.
Pleasant staff. Mum being looked after very well.
My mum has been in this care home for over 4 years. The staff have always been very kind and caring towards her. There was a spate of a lot of agency staff but this seems to have been addressed. During the pandemic, they have kept me updated and Facetimed so I was able to see her, due to her severe dementia window visits would not have been appropriate. Excellent care.
Cannot fault anything; care and staff excellent.
I desperately didn't want our lovely mum to go into a care home but from day one, Mum was treated with dignity and respect. All the staff supported our family in coming to terms with Mum needing care and I felt comforted by their compassion and dedication to caring for all the residents. I will always be grateful to all the staff that looked after my lovely mum and made sure that I could be with her, as she passed away. Thank you.
I have found Winsford Grange caring and helpful in all matters. Although the last year has been difficult because of Covid-19, for all of us, I feel reassured that my husband has been looked after expertly, with both care and affection. The staff are not only there for him, but for his family too. I would highly recommend this care provider. Thank you for all you have done for us.
Couldn’t have asked for a better place for Mum to spend her last few weeks. We were all treated with the utmost care and respect at all times. Mum was cared for in a loving way, by staff who clearly do not just treat it as a ‘job’. Full marks all round.
I was worried at first as the CQC report said 'requires improvement'. However, the level of care and concern displayed for both of my parents is excellent. The staff also take time to make sure I'm ok too, which is over and above in my opinion. Thank you.
I visited mum while she was in the activities room. What a difference in her. She was interacting with everyone, smiling, laughing and she talked non-stop. It brought me to tears seeing her so happy. I'm so grateful for the care she receives.
My husband has only been in a short while but has settled in well to Winsford Grange Home. The staff are very caring and he is being well looked after (his words). He can't walk but is regularly looked after by excellent care and good activities - music/films/TV/jigsaws/nice cakes or treats!
