View Full Details of Woodlands Care HomeMy Dad was previously in two care homes that were shocking, Woodlands is such a contrast. My lovely Dad has Parkinson's and Dementia so needs nursing care as can no longer walk. He has been here now for 6 months and I hope he can remain here for the time he has left. The staff go over and above with their care. They look after all residents so well and generally care about them. Everywhere is clean. The bedrooms are really nice and the food is lovely and very varied. I cannot praise this Care Home enough. All staff are lovely and helpful, from the admin staff to the cleaners. I love visiting my Dad here as there is a really nice atmosphere and everyone is like family.
My father moved into Woodlands in February 2024. The staff are extremely kind and very helpful. They show great respect to my 93-year-old father. I would recommend Woodlands because they provide such a high level of care.
I can only say positive comments about Woodlands. The staff are caring and professional, this includes domestic workers, nurses, carers and the office staff. All staff have treated my mum with care and dignity. They are considerate of myself and my family members. The rooms are kept clean and tidy and are comfortably furnished. It gives me great comfort that my mom is staying and receiving care is a peaceful environment to an outstanding level. Thank you.
The staff are always very kind, supportive and patient with my elderly parents and the home is always spotlessly clean.
The staff from Woodlands and all the different teams are so polite, caring and considerate. I couldn't have asked for better treatment for my mum. End-of-life care is superb - my mum said it is like family all so friendly. They treat her with respect and dignity and obviously follow all the policies, procedures etc. The manager is a good leader for staff and very approachable as the nursing team, cleaners, laundry, kitchen and admin plus maintenance team. One word - Exemplary! Ward Seniors too!
My wife was admitted to Woodlands Care Centre 2 months ago with advanced dementia which I was no longer able to provide good care for at home. Woodlands is local and had been verbally recommended to us by relatives of residents. With my sons, we had also explored 2 other local care homes which could provide specialist dementia care. Neither of these seemed to provide the same degrees of homely, friendly, sociable and efficient services that Woodlands offered. We were impressed! Over the 2 months, we have found that all the dementia nursing and the administrative staff, seemingly always friendly and smiling, have provided excellent caring services for my wife. She settled into Woodlands very quickly, without any problem. Visiting is free and easy with no restriction and there is ample car parking. The surroundings are pleasantly rural. Any particular requirements received quick positive responses. My only slight criticism is that the rooms are fairly small, although they do have ample storage space. We did have to supply and install our own TV system. I thoroughly recommend Woodlands to any potential enquiries
I'm very pleased with the care my mum has had at Woodlands. There will always challenges caring for folk with dementia but Mum is not noticeably agitated and the staff are attentive and familiar with Mum. I have come to know the staff by sight and name. Mum is treated with dignity and respect to my knowledge and there is an awareness of what Mum enjoys and gives her peace.
The loving care and attention given to my wife in the month quoted above was as superb as it has been over the past years for which she has been looked after in Woodlands. The staff have an affectionate and easy relationship with her which puts her and all residents at ease. Over the four years that she has been in Woodlands, I have never had any occasion to question or complain and am very happy that she, I and our family have been so fortunate.
Efficient, kind, caring, lovely staff go above and beyond taking care of residents. Food is excellent. Takes stress off me knowing my husband is getting one-to-one care.
Mum has great care in Woodlands, the staff are attentive and caring. We couldn't have asked for a better place. Thank you.
Brilliant staff, make everybody feel very welcome and at home.
Lovely staff, friendly and caring and look after the residents brilliantly.
Lovely garden, a small enough nursing home that there are always staff members around and great care taken of my mum.
Everything was amazing, she was so happy and thought she was staying in a 5-star hotel.
I have felt very "at home" when visiting my friend at Woodlands and enjoyed sitting in on a full service once when I came on a Wednesday afternoon. I think the staff and chaplain are very warm and welcoming and also very caring towards all the patients. There was a tea party on Friday once, and that was really special, with an accordionist playing requests in the lovely garden. The weather was beautiful that day.
I cannot comment on Food and Drink as I have not been about at nighttime and Activities were not relevant. As the payment was by NHS continuing care, again, I cannot comment. But I am happy to stress - I was delighted by the care and support given by all staff - way about that I have witnessed elsewhere.
My wife was only at Woodlands Care Centre for three months before she died of early-onset Alzheimer's disease. She was in the last stage of Alzheimer's and everything had to be done for her as she couldn't speak or move. The staff on the Beeches unit treated her with great care and dignity having to feed, wash and change her. The carers on the unit were always friendly, helpful and approachable and would accommodate any requests made to make my wife's quality of life the best they could in the short time she had left. I am greatly indebted to them and highly recommend the home to anyone wanting the best care for their loved ones.
My mother took a little while to settle in (to be expected). She told me many times that she is very happy at Woodlands - rowan area; the reasoning behind it is she gets maximum independence but has help when she needs it. She stated that "no one interferes there if she needs it". I find that all staff are polite, caring and approachable, and include relatives with email etc. Friendly atmosphere and choices are given to all.
The care my wife receives from the staff at Woodlands Care Centre is exceptional. They are patient, sensitive and understanding of her complex needs. Above all, she is treated with dignity. I cannot praise the Woodlands team enough. Putting a loved one into residential care is never going to be easy but woodlands have done everything possible to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Since moving to Woodlands in January 2020 my father’s health has visibly improved. On my recent visit he was very well and looked as well as he did 7 years ago. I ascribe this to the outstanding care he receives from all the staff at Woodlands.
