View Full Details of Walton House Nursing HomeMy wife was in Walton House for just over a year with dementia following a stroke and two weeks in hospital. I attended the home on a daily basis and can say that they always treated my wife with compassion and dignity. The staff are a really nice, committed, friendly bunch of ladies and gents who form a really good strong bonded team and are a credit to the management and Walton House. Thanks to you for an amazing job in caring for my wife and making me and the family feel so welcome.
A massive thank you to every single member of staff at Walton House Care Home. My father was admitted to this care home due to the prognosis for end-of-life care. He stayed there for 3 weeks, sadly he passed away on 8th December 2024. From the day he was admitted, they treated Dad with love and kindness, nothing was any trouble at all for them. He was made very comfortable. They were always on hand when you needed them. Visitors and family members were also very well treated and I could not have asked for anymore from them in Dad's latter days. The rooms were warm and comfortable and very clean. The food was excellent and even the family members of the residents were offered beverages/biscuits. I would highly recommend this home and feel it deserves a 5-star rating.
We would like to sincerely thank the manager and her team of staff. They provided our beloved Mum with absolutely outstanding care from her checking into the Nursing Home on 13th August 2024 to her passing away on 14th September 2024. They treated Mum with love, kindness, dignity and respect and nothing was too much trouble. Very sadly, Mum was unable to go back to her own home, but Walton House was truly the very best alternative. We would also like to add our thanks for the care and support they provided for my sister and me. We couldn't have got through the traumatic time safely without them. We would like to give a special mention to one staff member in particular, who was an Angel of Mercy and guided us through Mum's final moments and the hours afterwards with everything that needed to take place. We highly recommend Walton House Nursing Home and we feel it should have an 'Excellent' rating rather than 'Good'.
I stayed at Walton House after leaving the hospital while waiting for a place at a rehab unit, I was very happy there. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and friendly. I enjoyed being able to sit out in the garden which made a significant contribution to my recovery. Having been on a feeding tube for several weeks, my appetite picked up immediately with the excellent food on offer and I steadily put on weight and gained strength. The carers were always conscientious and responsive and the nursing staff was very professional. I felt listened to and respected which is really important to me. I would not hesitate to recommend Walton House to anyone looking for quality care.
My mother has shown kindness and respect to her in her final days. The staff not only looked after us as a family. The home is very clean and tidy. The rooms are fully equipped. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, so helpful and kind. It is a nice friendly home, that I would recommend.
Our mother was a resident at Walton House all I can say is the care she received was second to none. The manager and all her staff should be very proud of the care they provide. Massive thank you to you all. You made all our family feel like extended family. Many thanks.
Our mum/nan was recently moved to Walton House as part of end-of-life care. The care and compassion shown by all of the staff were fantastic from the minute she arrived to the day she passed away. Nothing was too much for the staff, they were friendly, caring, compassionate, and professional. Our mum/nan only had a short 4-day stay at the home, but we couldn’t have asked for any more from the staff, and this is echoed through my family. They gave Nan the dignity she deserved.
My 94-year-old mum, who has dementia had a fall and broke her hip, the hospital informed me how ill she was and that she would need nursing care, which was in January this year. I am so thankful to have found Walton House, from the moment I spoke with the manager and visited the home, I felt this would be a good place for my mum to be in. The entire team of staff make you feel so welcome, they are professional and caring, and the home has a warm and friendly atmosphere. I am very happy with the care my mum receives and I am grateful to all the staff who care for her, I know some days she can be a challenge. I definitely recommend Walton House to those needing a nursing home for their loved one.
Mum has settled into the home now and seems so much happier than she was at home after dad passed away. After having a stroke and being diagnosed with dementia, it was essential that she should be given 24-hour care. Her anxieties have all but disappeared and she is really enjoying the company and always compliments the staff. I would be more than happy to recommend Walton House. We can visit unannounced at any time apart from mealtimes. We have just received a newsletter with lots of photos of activities from the past few weeks. It was so nice to see mum smiling and joining in the fun.
My father became ill and we were advised by a health professional that Walton House would be a very good choice and most suitable for his needs! We were grateful for the advice as it can be a very unnerving time placing your loved one in the hands of strangers. Well no more! Strangers that are not! Everyone is so lovely, kind and friendly and we are fully informed of changes to medication or dietary needs which is very reassuring. My father's clothes are kept clean and fresh and he is happy to be involved with all activities the activities organiser offers from having outside entertainers, games, quizzes and baking. Doing such things was important for us in confirming our choice of home as I know just how much my father would benefit and appreciate the stimulation of socialising. I have never ever had any doubt about Walton House. Thanks to management, nurses, carers and all other staff we heartily give our thanks and appreciation for all their hard work and dedication.
Went to see my mum today on her birthday. The staff had arranged a birthday surprise for her. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Beautiful surroundings, staff, management and catering. I cannot speak highly enough of this lovely, clean, comfortable, well-run home. The smile on my mum's face said it all. Thank you in buckets!
This is an excellent facility. The staff are friendly, helpful and are looking after all my mum's needs. The rooms and common areas are bright, airy and clean. I would recommend Walton House to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones.
My lovely dad had been suffering from dementia and was admitted to hospital in February 2023 after a fall, then on to Walton House. The care he received was great, nothing too much trouble and all the staff were absolutely amazing. In his final days, all the nurses and care staff were considerate and caring and treated my dad with the utmost dignity, right up to his leaving this earth at the weekend. On behalf of my mum, brother and other family members, I would like to say an enormous thank you to all carers at Walton House.
My mother was in this home for 20 months until her death last week. The staff have been very professional and caring. My mother always said she was very happy and comfortable there and I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.
I cannot thank all of the staff at Walton House Nursing Home enough for the excellent care they provided to my Father In Law. My Father In Law was only a resident for just over a week but he was very comfortable during his stay and was incredibly well looked after and had nothing but compliments for the staff. The compassion that they showed to all of the family when he passed was lovely and very much appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend Walton House to anybody.
Our family have been very pleased with all aspects of Mum's Nursing Care, especially during Covid and lockdown. We have been pleased with being able to visit for half-an-hour, once a week with a screen in place, but of course, would like to see Mum every day like we used to.
After having the daunting task of looking at several care homes for my father when he became seriously ill in 2019, I was at my wit's end. Then at last we walked into Walton House and we knew at once that was the place. The staff were so friendly, we could tell immediately that they cared. When in hospital, my Dad had forgotten how to feed himself, how to hold a cup and had lost seven stone in weight. Nearly two years on and he is amazing. He feeds himself, no problem, he can hold his own cup and has put weight back on. The staff give him loving care and are kind and patient. The manager is always helpful and leads a dedicated team of nurses, carers and support staff who work together and have made such a difference to my Dad's life. When we go to visit he is always dressed well and clean. He always has a smile on his face and his relationship with the staff is lovely to see. I am confident that my Dad his happy, well looked after and loved. Thank You Walton House.
My Mum has been a resident in the home for the last 20 months. She was transferred here from the hospital and placed on end-of-life care. Unbelievably and thankfully, she has done amazingly well thanks to the excellent nursing care provided by the staff. During the most difficult of times, the staff have continued to do their best, not only for residents but for their loved ones. As a shielder during the pandemic, I have found it distressing not visiting but staff have always been available to speak to, at the end of the phone and provided excellent updates. They also provided zoom calls which were the next best thing to a visit and very much appreciated. I particularly loved the little photo postcard of my mother, which was lovely and unexpected. They have also tried really hard to reassure and boost morale which must have been so difficult. Special.
We are very impressed with the care, professionalism and skills of Walton House management and care staff. The communication we the family receive especially in these difficult times is excellent. My mother can be difficult to communicate with but the staff have developed a loving trusting relationship with her and it’s evident every time we visit. It’s been very hard for the family to accept Mum having to be placed in care. But knowing that Mum is being cared for by Walton House really helps the family come to terms with it. Thank you all.
Sadly, my partner had a very bad stroke and it left her paralyzed on one side. She cannot speak and has to be fed through a tube. With all the complications, it was a constant worry, but since she moved into Walton House, life has been a lot better. I've found the staff and nurses to be very helpful and understanding, my partner is happy. Care staff and nurses take a time-out to talk to her and get her involved in any activities, she's well looked after and they always put my mind at rest knowing she is safe and looked after is a big weight off my mind. Especially during these covid times, all the staff are very kind and polite, my only regret is that I never got her in sooner. It's been a godsend to get her into Walton House, and I would highly recommend this care home.
