View Full Details of Asmall Hall Care HomePlacing your loved one into a care home is one of the most difficult decisions any family can make, particularly when all you want is to have them at home with you. Then I had to come to terms with the shock of a complex medical diagnosis, a loved one with challenging dementia, all happening at the start of COVID-19, and personally, it felt like a living nightmare. We cannot think of anywhere else we would rather our beloved Dad have been; he had the best of the best throughout all his time with Asmall Hall. We were losing Dad when he was initially admitted into care from a six-week respite. But with their love, care and support for our Dad and ourselves, we eventually had our lovely Dad in our lives for four more years. We cannot thank the whole amazing team enough at Asmall Hall. They managed all our rollercoaster of emotions, and I do not know how we would have coped at times.
Following a fall and a decline in our mum's mental health, we were advised that Mum needed 24-hour nursing care due to her complex needs we were offered Asmall Hall. From Day one the staff from reception, management, nursing and care team, along with the catering team were amazing, kind supportive and above all able to meet our mum's needs with patience, kindness and dignity. Mum had very complex needs and could be very challenging. Thank you to the night staff who are often forgotten for the endless games of ball and singing /dancing and your patience, she didn't like to sleep! Unfortunately Mum died in December, the end-of-life care was outstanding, the dignity and support offered to Mum and us as a family will never be forgotten, you are all angels. As a family, we will never be able to thank you enough for all you did for our lovely, lively and often a bit naughty Mum, she loved you all.
I can't thank the owners and staff enough at Asmall Hall, they are caring, compassionate and thoughtful. It was difficult to find a suitable care home for my mother-in-law when she had to move into a fully supported environment 2 years ago. I visited many homes in the area and what stood out about Asmall was the number of attentive staff who were with the residents in the lounge. Most of the other homes I had visited were lacking of any staff let alone staff actually interacting with residents. From the moment she moved in, she settled really quickly, this was helped by the many activities and entertainment provided for residents, she really is living her best life. She has gone from being depressed and anxious to outgoing and chatty, this is 100% down to the caring, compassionate activity-led environment she now lives in. I feel incredibly lucky that they had space for her when we were looking! Thank you for doing an incredible job!
My mum has been a resident at Asmall Hall for a short time. when I visit my mum I can see a huge difference in her, she has improved in every aspect. She is happy, more talkative and interacting more and she is always spotless. The staff at Asmall Hall including every single staff member from the manager, nurses, carers, receptionist, kitchen and cleaners are all just fabulous, great care is given to all residents and going the extra mile shows. You feel so welcome when you arrive. I have been in care myself for over 30 years but this home definitely beats any I have worked in or even seen for that matter and that is down to these fabulous people working at Asmall. I have finally relaxed knowing my mum is receiving the best care I could wish for and what my mum deserves. I can't thank you all enough you are all doing a fantastic job. Just a lovely homely environment.
My brother has Parkinson’s and dementia. Initially, we didn’t realise the extent of his dementia. After a fall we were told he needed one-to-one care. We were worried about finding a care home where we could be confident he would be well looked after and his needs met. Asmall Hall, what a wonderful place. From the very first day, we felt a huge sense of relief. The experienced nurses and carers are experts at managing his challenging behaviours. All the staff, from the top down, treat him with dignity, patience, humour and kindness. He is always clean-shaven, hair combed, and smartly dressed which was always important to him. His behaviour is still very challenging and unpredictable towards staff, but we know that he is getting the best care at Asmall Hall and we are so happy and grateful to have him in such a wonderful place and to be so well cared for. Words alone can’t explain how highly we regard this care home. He has been a resident here now for 14 months. It's his home.
Moving a loved one into a home can be very distressing. I found a lovely home but my mother's needs became too great. She was hospitalised and unable to return. After 7 weeks, the hospital said she was bedridden and incontinent. I was left in the position of having to find another home that could cater for her needs. Recommendation and word of mouth are the best ways of finding such a place. I am SO glad that I heard about Asmall Hall and went to view. Recently taken over I cannot praise it enough. The accommodation and care, the friendly and compassionate staff at all levels, food and overall well-being of the residents are wonderful. If you are considering a care home then do not hesitate to look around and see for yourself what a welcoming and caring environment it is. My mother walks around the home. Contrary to the hospital's assessment is neither bedridden or incontinent because the staff have taken the time to encourage her in every aspect of her life. Thank goodness for homes like this!!
