View Full Details of Sandy Banks Care HomeAfter having trouble correctly placing my dad in the correct type of care home I cannot thank the staff and management of Sandy Banks care home enough. They are more than attentive and professional. They really care about my dad and his well-being and have given peace of mind to my sister and I after what has been a very trying 8 months or so. He has required hospital visits whilst being a resident and they have had constant communication with the hospital even sending staff members with him to ensure his well-being, regular doctor checks at the home, chiropodist visits and also a hairdresser. They have entertainment for the residents who wish to join in and for those who don't several areas where residents can relax. Thank you very to everyone at Sandy Banks for looking after my dad and giving us peace of mind that he is being well looked after.
All the staff at Sandy Banks Care Home have been wonderful, their devotion and care has been outstanding. They were always so kind and caring and nothing was too much trouble when anything was asked of them. It was a home from home for our mum and we always felt welcomed on our visits as a family to see her. The staff gave exemplary care at a time when mum needed it most, I can not praise or thank them enough.
All the staff at Sandy Banks are amazing. The care, devotion, and kindness is outstanding. They made Mum and us as a family feel at home from the minute we walked through the door. I can't praise them highly enough. Their compassion to care for everyone is truly commendable.
Staff kind and responsive, work very hard. Bedroom clean and tidy. Always dressed in own clothes, it helps because his name is embroidered on his chest. The home smells clean. A cheerful place.
My grandad moved to Sandy Banks from another care setting. Since his move 12 months ago, myself and my family are extremely grateful for the constant care, help and support my grandad receives 24 hours a day. The home is beautifully decorated and extremely clean.
Mum became a resident in Sandy Banks in October 2019 due to her dementia deterioration during the COVID lockdown restrictions. Although we couldn't visit, she was made to feel very welcome by the Manager, staff and care team and settled in really well. Sandy Banks Care Home is well-led with a dedicated team who provide outstanding professional support and care at all times. Mum was always treated with kindness, patience, dignity and the upmost respect during her time in the home and was always encouraged to join in the various activities each day which were adapted to individual resident needs. During the end-of-life phase, the whole team showed empathy and compassion not only to Mum but to family members with their continued daily updates and support for which we are forever grateful. Would highly recommend Sandy Banks Care Home as they always go the extra mile and consider each resident's requirements/needs before making any decisions.
After a very stressful few months of trying to find a new care home for Mum, we found Sandybanks, a home that cares. From the day we moved Mum in, we felt in safe hands. To visit now and see the difference in Mum in the short time she has been at Sandybanks is quite unbelievable, the care and support all the staff have given to me, my sister, and of course, most importantly, to Mum has been more than we could have wished for. The home is spotlessly clean. It's only been a few weeks since Mum moved in, but we now leave after a visit knowing she is cared for, and that's all that matters.
Mum, who suffers from severe dementia, has been resident at Sandy Banks for 9 months. Her care here has been outstanding and little things that had been a problem at her previous care home have been resolved or just magically disappeared. Mum is happy and since a daytime personal was instituted by the home in coordination with social services has been a lot more engaged with her surroundings. Mum is getting all the care she needs and the family are all extremely happy with the care she is receiving.
My mum has been resident at Sandy Banks for about four months and suffers from severe dementia. She settled in very quickly after spending quite a few weeks in hospital following a stay at another care home in the Lake District. Sandy Banks is more local to us so we are able to visit her much more often than previously. Since arriving at Sandy Banks my mother has improved her sleep patterns, is gaining mobility that she lost in the few months before her move, and is clearly very comfortable in her surroundings. The staff at Sandy Banks provide excellent professional care and are very responsive to all our questions and comments. Sandy Banks has given us much relief from our anxiety about my mum's situation and we are completely happy that she is being looked after very well.
The care and attention given to my husband by the wonderful staff is second to none. I leave after every visit with total peace of mind, which is so important. I cannot thank them enough. I trust them completely.
My grandad has been a resident now for around five months, and Sandy Banks is going to be his forever home. My grandad is very settled and happy in the home. The staff are professional, friendly and approachable. The staff always contact me with any necessary updates/information that I need to know. The bedrooms are lovely, clean, bright and spacious. The activities they offer to the residents are fantastic and well-varied. The home goes the extra mile to decorate for special events: Christmas, Valentine's, etc. Would highly recommend.
My mum's behavior was very challenging, but the staff at Sandy Banks never forgot the real person that Mum was. Their patience and compassion towards Mum made a real difference to her care. In her dying days we could really appreciate the affection that the staff had for her, and we are so grateful to have had Sandy Banks and all the team for Mum's needs.
My dad, who has advanced dementia, has been a resident at Sandy Banks for some time. As a family, we are incredibly grateful for the care he receives and the dignity he is afforded by all the staff. They are incredibly supportive to us too and we feel like members of the extended Sandy Banks family. They keep us up to date with Dad’s condition and are very prompt in letting us know of any niggling and emerging issues. They are also very accommodating and caring in ensuring Dad is always at his best when we go to visit – not an easy ask at all. It is always obvious how much they care for Dad as a person rather than just another resident. It is all very reassuring in very difficult circumstances.
The care our dad has received since he moved to Sandy Banks in Spring 2022 has been outstanding. The whole team are caring and patient and very skilful at coping with his complex needs. The fact that he is happy and settled is a testament to their skill and care. They have been supportive of us as a family, helping us at meetings about Dad, including providing expert information about Dad. Living a long way away from Leyland, I am unable to visit as often as I would like, but whenever I ring to check on Dad, the staff are always friendly, and they give me detailed updates. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Thank you to the whole team.
There are not enough stars for me to choose, and also I may find it difficult to find words good enough to express how we feel about the staff and management at Sandy Banks. My husband is treated with the utmost respect, and his dignity is always respected. No matter what we ask the staff or management for, they respond immediately. I have often gone to visit my husband and walked in on carers talking so lovely to him and making him feel wanted and secure. My husband is very precious to me and our kids; therefore, we expect the best treatment for him, and I am happy to say this is what is given. My husband cannot speak for himself, so we are his voice, and I am quite sure he would agree wholeheartedly with what we say. On walking through the home, I am very conscious of how other residents are being looked after. I can honestly say that I am more than happy that we decided to have Sandy Banks look after my husband. So, to you all at Sandy Banks, a big thank you from myself and my family.
My dad had been in two others care homes before Sandy Banks, where the attitude of the staff and level of care was very poor. He spent the last 5 months of his life in Sandy Banks. The entire staff were absolutely superb and the level of care outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and you could tell the staff really did care about the residents. After our previous experiences with care homes, Sandy Banks was a breath of fresh air on a totally different level. We can't thank the staff enough for the genuine care, compassion and respect shown to our dad.
Having my mum placed in a care home was a very traumatic experience especially as it was during the Covid lockdown. She had complex needs and with not being able to see her left me feeling at a loss but the reassurance that I needed from the staff helped me through the tough times. When eventually I was allowed visits it was still hard for me to accept the difficulties Mum was having with her mental and physical health, the staff kept us informed at all times on her progress although it was always hard to see someone you love, it was good to know she was safe with knowledgeable staff to take care of her, of which we will always be grateful.
My Aunt spent her last 15 months of life at Sandy Banks having been in their care from May 2022 to August 2023 when she died at the home. I always felt that the whole team at Sandy Banks cared for my Aunt with dignity, respect and love as well as providing her with excellent and exceptional care, from the time she arrived at the home to her well-managed end-of-life care. As a registered general nurse/senior NHS manager who has commissioned care from care homes around the UK, I know how difficult it is to find a care home for a loved one that is able to consistently deliver and sustain good care with a dedicated team, but Sandy Banks did just that. I believe we found the right home for my Aunt to live her last months of life and her end-of-life care and attention to detail by the care team was excellent. Thank you to all the staff and the management team at Sandy Banks for your love and care delivery to our wonderful Aunt.
My aunt has been in Sandy Banks since May 2022. I and my family are very impressed by the continued care, respect and love my aunt has been shown during her stay by all the team at Sandy banks. They always treat her with respect and the whole team are lovely and caring. I am so grateful my aunt is being looked after so well and always looks clean and well-dressed when we visit her. A great big thank you to all the team.
Sandy Banks Care Home is a welcoming, warm and well-led care home which takes excellent care of our much loved mother with advanced Alzheimer's. The whole team of staff, without exception, are lovely, caring and work hard to provide exceptionally high levels of care. The team offers a rich blend of different skills, talents and personalities, which are much appreciated.
