View Full Details of Beeches Care HomeMy stay at the Beeches was made great by the Manager & her girls. All gave me friendly helpful service, well above the call of duty. The only things which could be improved were the quality of the beds & the food, which was mostly good, but improvements were possible. I enjoyed the breakfasts & lunches, while the evening meals often consisted of sandwiches made with white bread (no taste or nourishment), not cooked meals. Sometimes soup was served not hot but luke warm, - less than appetising. More home cooking & less factory food & white bread would be a big improvement. Meals could be made much more enjoyable if wine and/or beer were on the menu. Would this be legal?
It was my elderly cousin's 94th Birthday and the staff went the extra mile to make it special for him. He has dementia but always says how well they look after him. Many thanks to everyone at Beeches Care Home.
Beeches Care Home has improved over the last seven or eight months, the recent changes to the interior areas and also to the outdoor spaces make for a better experience for residents and visitors. The professional staff are prompt in keeping me informed of any changes to my friend's health and well-being. Staff always find time to answer any questions I might have on any relevant topic.
Mum is cared for and looked after. Staff are approachable and helpful. It's a hard decision to put your parent in a home. The home know Mum and her ways and ensure she gets the most out of the home whilst taking into consideration Mum's ways.
We were very happy with the care my dad received at The Beeches Care Home. The staff were always kind and friendly. We felt my dad was safe and cared for well. Thanks to all The Beeches staff.
My uncle was admitted to hospital from his previous care home and the decision was made to look for an alternative care home that could offer end of life nursing care and I am so pleased that we chose The Beeches Care Home. Whilst there he was treated with all the care and dignity that you would expect for your loved one. The staff and nurses were easy to approach and constantly kept us up to date with his care needs. Whilst visiting the home we saw that he was clean and looked relaxed and happy, you could also see how the staff loved to interact with all the other residents and I would not hesitate to recommend The Beeches.
My father was a resident at The Beeches Care Home from September 2022 until April 2023 when he passed away peacefully. During his time at the home, the staff treated him with the utmost dignity and the nursing care he received was excellent. The team seemed strong and staff were always friendly and helpful when we visited. There were lots of activities for residents and the opportunity for family to join in too. My father's room was always clean and there was a real sense that there was an understanding of his complex needs. The appearance of the home is not luxurious and some areas are a little dated but this certainly does not detract from the high standard of care they provide which is the priority here. It is fair to say that there is a project for upgrading and redecorating in process currently. I would not hesitate in recommending the home to friends who may also need these services for their loved ones.
Both my mum and auntie were admitted to The Beeches just as the Covid lockdown was taking hold and so I wasn't really able to get a full picture beforehand of what it was like. Nearly three years on, I'm very pleased with the standard of care offered and I'd have no hesitation in recommending The Beeches. Unfortunately, my auntie passed away but the end-of-life care she received was exemplary, the staff could not have been more caring. The way that they helped my mum through this difficult period was very much appreciated. There have been occasional issues arising but what impressed me was the willingness and effort made by the management to address and resolve these quickly. The Beeches has a strong management team along with some very capable staff on the nursing/caring side. They're always prepared to go the extra mile. In terms of improvements, work is now taking place to refresh the decor etc. which I think was overdue. Steps to recruiting more permanent staff are also welcomed.
My wife was admitted to The Beeches Care Home and the care given was of very good quality. During the time she was there - approximately 11 weeks, she had nothing but praise for all of the staff. My family and I were grateful that The Beeches Care Home was chosen for her final days.
We sadly had to make the difficult decision to place Dad permanently in a care home in April as his dementia had deteriorated quickly. I chose The Beeches Care Home as it was local to me, and after looking at a few different homes, The Beeches Care Home came out top. I was worried he wouldn't settle, but he is settled and happy which I now know was the right decision to make. The staff here are friendly and caring and if I'm having a bit of a 'wobble' they reassure me. The staff do lots of activities with the residents and Dad loves the dancing! Dad enjoys all the food and says he is well fed. All in all my dad is happy and cared for so well and that is all I could ask for.
My dad has been a resident at The Beeches Care Home for nine months. He is very happy and has made lots of friends both with staff and other residents. He thinks the food is wonderful and he loves his clean, private room where he can sit and watch his TV. He regularly participates in events run by the home, most recently the Jubilee celebrations. He loved the singers who played recently too. From my point of view, he is safe and happy, he’s treated with respect and dignity and he isn’t lonely anymore. Both of us can’t recommend The Beeches Care Home highly enough.
I am so grateful to all the staff at The Beeches Care Home for the kind, consistent care they offer to my Mum. There have been challenging moments over the past couple of years for all sorts of reasons, and they have been terrific in looking after Mum. She is in much better physical health now than for some time, and though some aspects of her illness are difficult for all of us, the team at The Beeches always do an amazing job. Visits are clearly easier now, for which we are all grateful, but throughout Covid the home kept us informed of all regulations and kept us seeing Mum as much as was possible. I am thankful each and every day to know that Mum is well looked after, safe, enjoying meals and cups of tea with other people around her. Facebook photos and video clips of her singing and enjoying activities always brighten my day, as do regular phone calls between visits. No care home is perfect for everyone - but The Beeches Care Home continues to be really excellent for my mother; I'm very thankful.
After visiting a number of homes for our Mum, my sister and I were immediately drawn to The Beeches. From our first point of contact, we were made to feel welcome and on our initial viewing were assured that this was the place our Mum would be safe and would thrive. Indeed, 2 years down the line that is exactly what has happened. She is in better health than for many years. The social aspect of being around people is amazing. The staff arrange and deliver many activities which keeps everyone's spirits up. The good weather this summer certainly helped. Being able to sit out in the courtyard and have ice creams was a particular highlight. Especially during this difficult Covid period. The management and staff are always approachable and have done an amazing job in keeping us all informed as to the regulations re: visits. Being able to chat through the window has been invaluable. Overall, our Mum is very well cared for. Treated with respect and dignity. Her needs are met and she is safe and healthy. Thank you.
Mum is well cared for. The staff are all friendly and take an interest in her. There seem to be plenty of activities to keep her occupied and the staff are interested in keeping the residents happy. The rooms are a little scruffy and it's a shame there is no garden space for the residents to enjoy.
Unfortunately, this home did not meet the family or the resident's expectations, and we are unable to recommend this home to any new residents. I'm sure that it must meet some resident's expectations, but not our mother's.
The Beeches has been brilliant with my dad. Right from the outset, communication has been excellent, every member of staff I have dealt with has been helpful and supportive. They are lovely with Dad, even when he’s had his challenging moments. There is always someone to talk to, and they take the time to keep you completely informed about all aspects of care. The Covid situation is extremely well managed, and they make the best out of a difficult situation. I feel reassured he is there and being looked after very well.
My wife and I had the opportunity to visit our elderly aunt today after many weeks of waiting, the first visit due to lockdown being greeted via a carer and taken through the Covid flow pre visit system. Our first gathering proved to be a very enjoyable experience, and we were very pleased to see her looking extremely well presented and happy. Our contact with both admin and carers at The Beeches has always been professional and pleasant, and they always remember to ring you back when requesting an update; it's nice to be able to return home knowing that our aunt is happy, safe and well cared for. Thanks to you all.
Mother has been resident at The Beeches for approximately 18 months. She suffers from dementia and is 96 years old. The home is very well maintained and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. During the lockdown they have kept us informed of all that is going on and they have managed to keep virus-free which is exceptional and we are all very thankful.
A very caring environment, my wife is well looked after and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I would certainly recommend The Beeches as I feel my wife could not be in a better nursing home.
As I used to work at The Beeches, I wanted my Dad to reside here, as he was deteriorating. I knew the standards of care and how respectful the carers are, form the housekeepers, cooks, carers, RGN's and maintenance men. Dignity is maintained at all times. I also recommend to my friend for her mother as she wasn't happy with the card standard at her old care home. She had a new lease of life once she resided here. More than happy with care.
