View Full Details of Berkeley Village and Cuerden GrangeMy brother has been here from 2024 and he has settled down very well and he's very well looked after. Management look's after us very well when we visit.
Staff + management always friendly and helpfull look after the residents well. Always clean and tidy. The food is really god, lovely homemade food. Plenty going on for them, take them out on day trips. My brother gets looked after well He enjoys living here.
Somewhat of an experience here, bad to worse. If you want to be cared for, no. Waited 30 minutes for the toilet. 19 falls in six months. The smell is terrible of wee. Cleanliness 1, managers, zero. The company is all about money. Care days out, no. Got told to obesity. Food poor.
My cousin was a resident from February 2019 to March 2020. She does have late-onset psychosis and needed emotional support. On a number of occasions, she phoned me to ask the staff to attend her to toilet her as she had used her buzzer with no avail - sometimes waiting over an hour. The kitchen facilities on the first floor were inadequate and often untidy and dirty. Most of the staff were helpful but I did hear poor client interaction over the phone. The management did not inform me when there was an incident or change in her care or medication. I am next of kin.
This care home is understaffed. Buzzers are going constantly and the smell is overpowering. My neighbour was shouted at in front of visitors and told she should be in a mental hospital by one member of staff. She was refused toileting as it was lunchtime and the staff were busy. Staff refused to use the hoist as it was too much trouble, causing her to fall on several occasions. These falls were not reported to her next of kin. The manager did not bother to say goodbye, she blanked us on the day of departure. So glad she is out of there, 200 words could not describe this place.
I have been extremely pleased with my choice of care home Cuerden Grange staff treat my mother with courtesy and great care at all times. She is always clean and well presented and smiling which shows she is settled and content. Staff work hard and always take time to acknowledge you answer your concerns or queries. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cuerden Grange.
National press coverage of care homes is all about underfunding, staffing levels and poor care standards. Having recently placed my 95 year old mother into Cuerden Grange Residential Home my experience could not have been different. Rooms and common areas are immaculate. The staff are hardworking and demonstrably caring towards the residents and the managers must take full credit for the overall ethos and ambience of the home. I shall be forever grateful for the care and support offered to my mother and to me through, what has been an extremely stressful time.
My mum has been a resident at Cuerden Grange for a number of years and in the main she has been settled and happy. However, there has been a massive turnover with regards to the management and staff recently and this has caused her to become insecure and unhappy. The departure of the well-respected activities co-ordinator has also seen a noticeable change in the atmosphere amongst the residents and in the day room. At the minute it is not the same friendly, relaxed and upbeat place it used to be, which could be attributed to the change in staff.
This care home is clean to high standards. Patient care is paramount. The surroundings are impeccable and tasteful. It makes our family feel better knowing our Dad is well looked after.
Good parking for visitors, staff always available and willing to discuss any problems. Care of the residents is excellent and arrangements for hospital visits very good. All in all, I am very satisfied with the care and attention given to my cousin.
Some very caring assistants here. A great pity that the activities coordinator is leaving as she has been a fabulous "breath of fresh air". Mostly happy with the care home but a pity that the current, cosy, well-ventilated lounge will be changing soon, as the previous room (now dining) was totally un-welcoming and not a good shape for sitting in. The outside doors couldn't be opened there either as they lead onto the car park.
Shower time is not long enough! Dad says he barely has time to get wet! Dad is slow and needs more time please. Dad also mentioned the banging of fire doors at night wakens him. He loves the food and the staff - well done and thank you!
Residents are well cared for by friendly, approachable, hard-working staff. The rooms are kept clean and fresh smelling. A special mention should be given to the activities coordinator who ensures the residents are kept busy and entertained. Outings are also organised so they get the best out of life.
The client has down syndrome and dementia she is generally cared for very well. This last week she was hospitalised and the care home staff were extremely professional in supporting her. Very pleased to witness such dedication.
My great aunt came into Berkeley Village and Cuerden Grange initially for respite but as a family, we are now looking at permanency. The staff have been amazing. Very helpful. My great aunt has settled very well. Love the activities they do. Always very clean and always made to feel welcome when we visit. Highly recommended.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming to visitors. They are kind and caring with residents. The activities co-ordinator is excellent as she tries to encourage all residents to take part in daily activities. The lunchtime menu would benefit from a little variation as soup and sandwiches daily can be a little boring. The annual increase in fees has been well over the rate of inflation over the last 3 years and I think this is unfair to those residents who pay for their own care.
My Mother has lived at Cuerden Grange for some years now and is settled and generally very happy there. Mum feels safe and comfortable, she has a pleasant room with her own things around her and staff know her likes and preferences and respond positively to these. Any minor issues, questions or problems we have encountered have been dealt with appropriately and Mum can participate as much or as little as she wants to in the regular activities offered to residents.
I feel that Berkeley Village has done an amazing job when looking after and caring for my cousin. The staff are absolutely amazing and always friendly. Every inch of the home is polite and loving. They always make family of the resident feel welcomed. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect home for my cousin. There's nothing to fault.
My daughter is very well cared for at Berkeley Village. She is kept clean and has a good, varied diet. All members of staff are very friendly and caring and my wife and I can visit at any time and are always received in a most friendly way. The measure of care is so reassuring and can be highly recommended.
