My mum continues to receive excellent care, it was a big shock to mum when she lost the use of her arms and legs in the summer of 2022. All the staff at Douglas Bank Nursing Home made sure my mum retained her dignity, making sure each day she was cared for, and given choices for example choosing her own clothes and helping with washing and dressing, providing support both physically and mentally, including mum in activities and social events ensures mum to socialise with other residents.

I live far away and am unable to visit my dad often. The staff are aware of this and always happy to update me by phone. I feel when I talk to them that they know my dad well and obviously listen to him.

I think I can safely say for my family as a whole that we are more than happy with the help, care and comfort provided for our dad. There is always a smiling friendly welcome from the lovely staff, every area is spotlessly clean and orderly, and music is always playing with the staff fully engaging with the residents. Our dad is always happy relaxed well fed, clean and well groomed. It is a big comfort that our family that our dad is safe well and thriving here at Douglas Bank Nursing Home.

Douglas Bank is a comfortable care home, from what I have seen so far. The staff are efficient and on hand immediately should there be any issues. The lounge area is particularly cosy and warm and Mum seems to enjoy her time in there watching TV. Her room is satisfactory and clean.

Fantastic carers! They ensured my Dad settled into his nursing home ok. He's always happy. Dad's room is always clean and tidy. The food choices and quality are brilliant.

The most important thing is my partner is happy. His needs are met and I feel he is looked after very well. The manager has done an excellent job with the changes, the staff are just lovely and we always feel welcome. The rooms are spotless and all clothes are folded and hung very neatly. Nothing is too much trouble for management and staff. I would highly recommend Douglas Bank.

Douglas Bank is always very clean and organised. The staff have been very helpful and kind and treat residents with respect and dignity. They are very knowledgeable about residents' conditions and are more than willing to advise and update families when appropriate. Couldn't fault the staff at all.

I am currently wheelchair-bound and cannot use my hands. I feel the staff work really hard to look after me, washing, dressing and feeding me. In addition to this, they make sure I am in my chair and taken down stairs to socialise with other residents which I enjoy. The meals I am provided with are excellent and my care is discussed with me on a daily basis as part of my care plan.

My father was transferred from an EMI residential care home as they could not manage him. The placement was wrong, there were problems with falls, my father left the home without their knowledge, medication was also problematic. Since transferring to Douglas Bank my father is more alert, taken off sedating medication. Physically improved. Staff excellent, manager excellent, carers excellent. I would recommend Douglas Bank for dementia patients.

I am a current resident at Douglas Bank, I came on the 23rd December 2022 from another nursing home where I was mistreated. At Douglas Bank, I was greeted by the manager and nurse straight away. It was a Christmas party on the day I arrived, I was gifted with presents, which was very generous as I was completely new. A carer showed me around the home and unpacked my belongings. A nurse came and explained everything to me, making me feel relaxed as I was nervous from my past experience. The home feels like a family, as I got included in the new year take away with the staff and residents who were awake, making it special for everyone. Due it my current situation I felt very low in myself, the nurse helped me out of the dark place. I will never forget the care I received from her, she went above and beyond. Everyone always keeps on top of my personal needs, ensuring I am comfortable. I would definitely recommend Douglas Bank Nursing Home.

My grandad came under the care of Douglas Bank a few months ago, he appears to be happy and content and there is very good communication between staff. Lovely staff and a lovely home overall.

Since our Mum came to Douglas Bank, she has received excellent care. The staff are so supportive and have made sure that Mum has settled during a difficult time. We can enjoy our visiting times safe in the knowledge that when it's time to leave, Mum is happy and feels safe, which is all we can wish for.

Cannot praise Douglas Bank Nursing Home enough! My husband has recently moved into there and he is being well looked after by all the staff. They are so caring and professional and it feels so homely. He has mixed dementia and Alzheimer's and I feel so much better knowing he is receiving the best possible care. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursing home to anyone and I would like to thank the manager and each and every one of the staff for making my husband so very welcome.
