View Full Details of Dovehaven LodgeFriendly, attentive, professional care in often challenging environments. Visiting mum is emotional and usually upsetting yet the staff show empathy to me in addition to mum. Impressive and consistent.
Nice clean smell, lovely staff on duty. Gran was sleeping but was nice and cosy and clean and peaceful. In all the time grandma has lived here she has never had a urine infection. In the last place she had a UTI every month.
Mum is always clean and comfortable, is given plenty of food and drink, drinks are in a jug with date left in mums room. Always greeted well by staff.
After three years in the Beech Unit, my wife has moved to Rowan. In the three years, we witnessed nothing but kindness from the staff. They were always caring and interested in her welfare and looked after her every need. They were also interested in our family and kept us up to date. She has moved because she needed a quieter atmosphere. She certainly seems to be calmer.
When my mother-in-law came to Dovehaven Lodge, I was very concerned how she would cope with the move. However one staff member in particular and her team have been wonderful. She is well cared for, and helped with her meals. The staff are polite and welcoming. I would recommend this care home to other people.
Can't speak highly enough, Dovehaven Lodge is excellent in every way. The care my mum receives is better than excellent, and her room is spotlessly clean. Feel so lucky that my mum is spending her final years in such a fabulous place. Thank you to everyone.
Carers use kind language with the patients and check in consistently. He has everything he needs in his room. His room is cleaned regularly. His personal hygiene is handled with care.
I find most staff go to great lengths for my mam from domestics to office staff. I have a few issues with the laundry staff or rather the way some things are washed and how they are put away. Yes in the grand scheme of things my mam is well looked after safe, warm, well fed and above all cared for.
I think my mum is as settled as she ever will be. However, there are always different staff that aren't quite as caring as the regular staff. I take my mum cappuccinos and find depending on who is working, depends on whether she gets any. The food doesn't look as good as it was either.
My mum is very happy here she is well cared for.
Basically I can sleep at night knowing mum is in the best care I could wish for - after a few years of constant anxiety when she was living at home with visiting carers. Additionally, it was her wish to come into care here, due in no small part to the excellent (loving!!) care you guys gave my dad before his death in 2016. I speak for the whole family when I say thanks to you all.
There appears to be very little stimulation or activity for residents in the Rowan unit. Residents sitting in the lounge looked bored - no TV, music or interaction with each other. The staff looked tired and bored. The room smelt awful and the bedding was soiled. I was disappointed in what I saw. Lunch looked less than appetising - pudding always seems to be rice pudding!
The care home is all ground floor. Corridors are wide and airy with handrails provided. Fire and evacuations are excellent. Management and staff are very good accessible and caring. Treating residents with great dignity. All the equipment is at hand for example baths, showers, hoists etc. Rooms are and all the home is clean to a high standard. Lots of various activities are laid on and food is excellent and varied. My wife is very happy to stay there and I visit every day.
The home is warm and welcoming to everyone who comes. The staff are very good and look after the people well. The food needs to be warmer as it's always cold. My mum says the food is not good. I feel this needs looking into. I find the photos that are taken make the room look nice and welcoming to everyone. Keep up the good work. The place needs more staff only two on duty this is not good.
Always a friendly welcome and carers are very helpful.
My husband has settled well which makes me feel better. He likes the majority or the staff.
After an initial settling-in period where things were slightly up and down which as a family we understand, we're pleased to see our mum being extremely well looked after. The food is loved by Mum and her personal hygiene is well cared for. We would highly recommend Dovehaven Lodge.
The room was in need of repairs: the plug socket needed plastering around, and holes in the wall where things had been removed. The door handle had clearly been moved several times, the cupboards were tatty and the doors didn’t shut properly. The wrong type of bed in the room. Staff constantly on phones whilst working. Residents are not encouraged to participate in activities or to shower. Very unwelcoming staff. The staff did not knock on the room doors before entering. The general impression I got was that staff would do the absolute minimum to justify their days' work.
Excellent service. Really good with my father, very caring and patient with him. My only criticism is there are no staff at the weekends. Meals are very good, balanced and nutritious.
Very supportive management team. Unexpected move out of area, however Dad was treated with dignity and respect. Put us at ease, very informative and kept in the loop constantly. Thank you for caring and looking after Dad.
