Mum went in for respite and enjoyed it so much she wanted to stay on a permanent basis. She has everything she wants and the staff are very attentive to her needs, Mum is easy going and the staff enjoy the daily banter with her . The food and the accommodation are first class and the staff are a joy to meet on every visit . I am so happy that Mum is settled and I have no worries about her future.
The staff make this place. My mother was very well looked after and treated with dignity and respect. All the staff we met were helpful and positive. There was plenty of food and brews provided and my mother came out looking in better shape than when she went in. Looked to us like the staff tried hard to entertain the residents as well. Overall the team did a great job.
My experience at this care home is an eye-opener. The staff and owners are alright and professional.
Reasonable accommodation and well-trained and attentive staff. Any problems are quickly addressed, and wherever sorted out for the residents. The home is clean and well looked after and changes made to keep it up-to-date and pleasant for both residents, their families and others who may visit them.
Dad was admitted to Headroomgate after a fall that resulted in a broken hip, he was unable to manage at home on release from hospital. The staff and management have been wonderful to dad. They eventually got him up and about and mobile enough for him to go back home. I don't want to mention anyone by name in case I miss someone out. It can't have been easy trying to look after a 95 year old that thinks he is 55. My thanks to you all.
Knowing mum is well cared for gives us peace of mind. Throughout the pandemic, she has been kept safe and secure. She is very happy with her room which we have been able to personalise. Health permitting mum is generally content. Thank you management and staff for your loving care and attention.
My mum has been a resident at Headroomgate Care Home for a year now. Throughout this time I have always found the care she has received, and all my interactions with the Home, to be excellent. The manager and staff have always been caring, respectful, friendly and very helpful to both my mum and myself. My mum has dementia and when I visit it is very reassuring to see that she is settled, happy and well looked after. Would recommend Headroomgate Care Home to anyone in a similar position.
My mum aged 92 years old has been a resident at Headroomgate Care Home for a few weeks now. Initially, it was a temporary stay but needs must it's now permanent. Her care has been exceptional in all areas of need. She has been treated with respect and patience allowing her to maintain her dignity at a time of huge changes in circumstances. Full Mark's to the manager and her team for whom nothing seems too much trouble.
My Dad is a resident here and has been for years. He has a condition called Korsakoff syndrome, which is a chronic memory disorder caused by a severe deficiency of thiamine (vitamin B-1). He does remember his family and is very familiar with the staff at his residence. He is happy and his confidence has progressed over the years, coming out of his room and joining in games and socialising more and more. We, the family can talk to the staff at any time, we communicate very well at regular intervals. We are very happy. The staff are amazing at Headroomgate Care Home. Well done to all the staff.
My Aunty has been a resident for over five years at Headroomgate. She is very happy in the home and staff are very caring towards her. She suffers from early dementia and her needs are met by the staff and the home. I feel she is very safe in the home. The recent covid-19 has been a real worry and concern for her wellbeing. The staff have used PPE at the expense of the home and any deaths within the home have been as a result of the government's failure to provide covid testing for residents and staff. The staff have been heroic during a very difficult time. My aunty has a major birthday coming up shortly and I am confident that she will love to see it as a result of the sacrifices made by staff and fellow residents. A caring home which I can fully recommend.
My father has been at Headroomgate Care Home over a year now. I am very pleased with the care and accommodation that is provided at a reasonable cost. A few issues have arisen and these have been dealt with to my satisfaction on the whole. Recently my father's room was changed and I was notified, however, on 2 other occasions I was not and hope to pursue this.
The home is cheerful and accessible for residents and their friends and family. I am not sure about taking part in regular activities to assist in the keeping of healthy, active and fun things to do.

The management and staff at Headroomgate were excellent with my daughter who had been in a coma and come out of it with brain damage. She is only 47 years old, the home being for old people.
