View Full Details of Rivington Park Care HomeI am constantly trying to speak to my mother at the care home. As I do not live near it is really important to keep up communication. I only had a conversation with the manager yesterday 22/04/23 how poor this was. Have called today and yet again got an answerphone. We have only just been made aware a new company has taken over the home and things are meant to be improved. I can not see this.
As a family, we are very pleased with all the care and support my sisters get. They have settled well and quickly. The staff are always helpful with any situation that occurs. We always have peace of mind, knowing they are safe and cared for.
Sadly being a distance from my Nan we don't have a hugely positive experience. We struggle to get through to her mobile and have now been told that we can have a quick call with her if the home is free to take a call. Living on the other side of the country, I'm not sure why communication is being cut off when we'd happily call my Nan frequently to give her more to look forward to each day. The home seems understaffed when we have been in person and when calling. During one phone call, we had to call an ambulance for my Nan as she was so breathless and the carer said "this happens all the time, you just don't know about it".
My mother has been in Rivington Park Care Home for around seven years now. She is, at present, in the later stages of (dementia) Alzheimer's. At this time, she now resides in bed and requires more care. The standard of care she receives is brilliant, she is treated with dignity and love. Any problems with her health, the manager always lets me know. The home and herself are spotless. My mother always looks squeaky clean and very comfortable and relaxed. The staff don't only look after my mother, they also give me support. Walking in feels just like home.
Our father recently had a stroke and the nurse was excellent in their assessment skills and efficiency in getting the GP. We are informed at every point which is fantastic. He was very well looked after waiting for the ambulance. They make sure they know their residents so day change is reported. Following his discharge from the hospital, his senior carer that has just completed their Care Home Assistant Practitioner course which shows their dedication was amazing, ensuring his safety was paramount. We cant these staff enough especially for taking care of our dad.
A warm welcome on entering the home by the receptionist, and very courteous staff. The home is very clean. Enjoyed my visit. Thank you.
A great place where dad is happy and feels safe. Lovely staff and good food is his assessment.
My mum has been at Rivington Park for just over a year and her care has been excellent. Mum has severe Alzheimers and is now bedridden so she requires lots of care and support. She has been well looked after here and my thanks go to the staff who have looked after her especially during this difficult time with covid being around. You are angels.
During my last visit to review my mother's care and support with the manager, I was extremely pleased to see a 100% improvement on my previous review of Rivington Park Care Home. Recent staff changes have ensured a smooth changeover for the better. I am very happy with everything on offer for my mother, who is extremely happy being looked after by such dedicated and caring management and staff. Well done to all involved (ten out of ten).
My mother-in-law has been here for 2 years now at Rivington Park and I am very happy with the care given. It is a small friendly home and I am always made welcome by all staff. They have a varied amount of activities including regular trips, quizzes and various entertainment acts that come in to perform for the residents. They also organise special days like Valentines, Summer Fairs, bonfires etc.
The staff are very good and caring, but always seem understaffed when I have visited. My Nan is very happy and has settled well in her new home. The home is dated and carpets are showing their age but overall the staff and management are great and if my Nan is happy and well looked after, that's all I can ask for. Carpets could do with a shampoo.
I usually visit twice a week and the staff are always friendly and helpful. My stepfather is now almost bedridden and the care he receives is of an excellent standard. He is always kept clean and comfortable and treated with dignity.
Very satisfied with my mother's care. All staff very helpful and caring. Communication very good.
Very satisfied with my mum's care. A friendly home.
A home with a heart. To move from your home of over forty years is a huge change. My elderly mother has now been a resident at Rivington Park for a few months. She has, as I have been met with kindness, care and compassion. Staff have answered any queries with politeness and efficiency. Nursing needs have been addressed and we have been kept well informed by staff. There is a cheerful attitude to residents who are cared for with dignity and also with consideration of individual needs. The food is excellent, home cooked and with plenty of variety. The housekeeping team keep the facilities spotless and laundering of clothes is perfect. An activities coordinator who is so proactive with family most welcome to join in. My mother is safe, cheerful and the peace of mind for all concerned is immense. We can enjoy time with her and are appreciative of this. Well done and thank you to all at Rivington Park Care Home.
My husband is in Rivington Park as he has vascular dementia. He has been here since February after 5 weeks in hospital. He was assessed as needing 24 hour nursing care but as he has been well looked after here I feel he is now ready for residential care as he is able to walk, talk, use the toilet etc. He needs help with personal care. Rivington Park is a lovely nursing home but for my husband??
When visiting, I have found that my mother has always been treated with respect and dignity. Mother's room is of a good standard with most of the required facilities. The staff have always encouraged to drink more as this has been identified as a weak area on my mother's part. From what I have seen of the meals, they have been nutritious and more than enough. I am aware that there are a number of activities organised for all residents. In view of the above, I would not hesitate to recommend to other families to use this location.
Rivington Park presents as a warm, friendly establishment for residents to live in. This atmosphere is consolidated by all the members of staff working here. The management staff are friendly, approachable and willing to answer any questions. The nursing staff are supportive and acutely aware of the resident's needs. Any issues regarding health care are acted upon immediately. The care staff are wonderful and empathetic to the needs, treating the residents with dignity and understanding in all situations. The activities coordinator is amazing, she lights up the lives of the residents. The catering and housekeeping staff all do a wonderful job.
Staff always ready to assist with problems. Staff interact with residents on a regular basis.
My mother has been a resident at Rivington Park for over 3 years and requires total nursing care. She is not in a position to comment herself. Her care has always been provided to a very good standard and she has been made to be comfortable all the times. Her condition is regularly monitored and staff are always friendly and informative as are senior staff and management. The reception area is always welcoming. Overall impressions are very positive.
