View Full Details of Marley Court Nursing & Residential HomeMy father has been at Marley court since just after New Year 2025, and I honestly cannot thank all of the staff enough for what they have done for my dad. All of the staff are so friendly and so helpful, nothing is too much for anyone. And the care they give for each resident is second to none. And the activities held every day (apart from Sundays) are varied in their nature and are very inclusive of any resident that wants to join in. My dad has progressed towards recovery from an accident in huge leaps and bounds, it's amazing to see how far he has come in just a few months, and alot of that progress can be attributed to the genuinely fantastic staff at Marley Court. Everyone has helped my dad to settle in so quickly, all the staff and residents know him and his cheeky little smile now. My family and I are so glad that we chose Marley Court for the care of my father, and he is so happy there. Thanks again to everyone at Marley.
Mum was moved to Marley Court from hospital, in a frail state , after being in and out of hospital with a variety of illnesses. She has been in now for 8 weeks and she has been the most stable she has been for over 12 months due to the level of care she has received from the home. She is eating well and loving the variety of food, which has led to her putting on weight. She is always clean and well dressed in her own clothes and looks forward to having her weekly hair appointment with the homes hairdresser. There are activities most days which I never thought mum would join in but the staff have gently encouraged her to integrate with the other residents at her own pace which is a joy to see. As a visitor I have been made very welcome by all the staff at all times of the day and it has been lovely to see my mum so settled.
My mum who is in palliative care in Marley Court for almost 3 weeks is happy and settled with the care that she is getting here. I like to thank a specific member of staff especially for his caring manner towards my mum and also to other staffs who looks after her daily needs since she has been here.
My Father was recently admitted on palliative care. For the 10 days before he passed away he was cared for in the most respectful & thoughtful way. All the staff from the cleaners, carers, kitchen staff & nurses carried out their work with empathy & compassion. They made a very difficult time for our family more bearable for us to go through.
Very happy with the care my Dad is receiving having moved him from another care home in February. Marley Court has a family atmosphere with plenty of activities for residents and the staff are great.
My friend been a resident at Marley Court Nursing & Residential Home for the past six months, and overall, we have been very pleased with the level of care she has received. The staff are genuinely compassionate and go out of their way to make residents feel comfortable and valued. They always greet residents with a smile and seem to know each person by name, which creates a warm, family-like atmosphere. Facility and Cleanliness: The facility itself is clean and well-maintained. The common areas are bright and cheerful, with plenty of natural light. My mother's room is always tidy, and the housekeeping staff do an excellent job of keeping everything in order. The gardens are lovely and provide a nice place for residents to get some fresh air and enjoy.
My mother moved to Marley Court over 18 months ago for what we thought was end-of-life care. With the care afforded by the team, she is thriving and has become very fond of many of them. The pleasant, helpful and professional team seem to genuinely love their job and the residents. On the whole, the home is clean and the bedrooms are undergoing refurbishment. The services brought in such as hairdressing, chiropody, optical and auditory are efficient and convenient. As a family, we are so fortunate to have found a place for Mum here.
Mum loves being here and settled in straight away, she enjoys all the home-cooked meals, and the team are all very friendly and happy to talk to her anytime (she can't speak back but enjoys them talking to her). Mum is happy at Marley Court, it is always very clean and homely with lots of entertainment going on.
Mum has complex needs which require careful, sympathetic and patient management. The staff at Marley Court are fully in tune with this and go out of their way to make her as happy and comfortable as possible. The family visit every day and so have a good first-hand knowledge of the welcoming and friendly atmosphere and how the home is run. We are very happy with the overall care, attention and support Mum gets on a daily and nightly basis. We also appreciate the Managers, Advanced Practitioners and carers' prompt response to our requests for information and their willingness to 'keep an eye out' for Mum when problems arise. The staff are friendly and proactive in catering for Mum's needs. Nearly every weekday there are activities in the lounge and staff encourage the residents to join in. In the summer residents can chose to sit outside and pet the resident rabbits Bonnie and Clyde.
My mother went into Marley Court in a very vulnerable and frail state, following several spells in hospital. She is now thriving due to the high quality of the care given and is enjoying being taken care of in such a warm and caring environment. She did struggle in the beginning to settle in, but because the staff are so kind, now it has become the place that she feels safe in, and I know that she is safe too, which means that I don't feel worried on a daily basis any more. Every member of staff is helpful, friendly and professional, and it's clear that they care deeply about the residents. The home is kept spotlessly clean at all times, there are no unpleasant odours, and the food is nutritious and varied. My mother is always very clean and in fresh clothes, and she likes having her hair done by the visiting hairdresser! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff - she is very well looked after. We have been very lucky to have her be a resident at Marley Court.
My wife was discharged from Hospital on Tues afternoon, 3rd Sept '24. I can only say all the staff here have been nothing short of excellent and kindness itself. We could not ask for any better service and assistance at this very difficult time for ourselves and our family. Thank you to all the wonderful team here at Marley Court.
I really rate this nursing home. My father has dementia and can't walk but the care levels are superb. I can see that they always are thinking of his needs and my dad seems happy. There is always a relaxed atmosphere in the home and visitors are made most welcome.
Mum has been in Marley Court for the last 8 months as she required nursing care and had to move from a residential care home. I can honestly say that the care and attention mum has been given has exceeded my expectations. All the staff in the home go above and beyond! I have always been made to feel welcome when visiting mum which means a lot and the manager has always had an open door policy should you need to raise any concerns or questions. I would not hesitate recommending the care home for anyone looking for a loved one.
My uncle received excellent care from the team at Marley Court. It is a very warm and friendly place. He entered palliative care at the end of March and every member of staff was dedicated to making his final few weeks as comfortable as possible. His friend was allowed to visit with her dogs and that brightened his day. He had a lovely, bright and quiet room. Everywhere was clean and fresh and there were never any unpleasant smells. The staff were also meticulous with my uncle's personal care. He was washed, shaved and dressed in fresh clothes every day. I was asked to label all of his clothing which was not a problem. The staff were very good at updating me on my uncle's condition. On my last visit, I arrived just as my uncle had died and the staff were so kind and compassionate to me at that upsetting time. It is hard to accept that a relative needs nursing home care but I can honestly say that Marley Court made the whole experience as caring as possible.
My mum has been at Marley Court for several years, she has a plethora of health conditions including dementia and can be difficult to care for. The staff at Marley know her so well and understand her moods and needs. They are patient and caring and know when we need contacting. The staff manage her medication and health conditions in a concise and professional manner - we are confident that she is safe and cared for. We are allowed to take her little dog to visit her on a regular basis which makes the place more like home. We are happy with the standard of care provided (and the patience of staff when dealing with her ‘difficult wants, needs and requirements’). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone in search of a ‘place to live’ for a loved one.
My dad has been in Marley Court for 12 months. I could not be happier with the level of care he receives. He relies completely on the staff and his care has been excellent. The staff go above and beyond. My dad always looks clean and smart which I was worried about as he can’t do this himself and he is a proud man. His clothes are always clean and smell fresh. The care staff are excellent and always have a smile on their face and happy to have a chat when they come into my dad's room or see us in the corridor. Marley Court itself has a lovely garden to sit out in summer and a 5-minute walk to take my dad in a wheelchair for ice cream and walk to the canal. Inside the home is very clean never have I been into unpleasant smells. There is a good choice of food and plenty of drinks and snacks throughout the day (and probably at night too but I’m not there to see this). My dad is very hard to please and really didn’t want to go into a care home but even he says he wouldn’t get better.
If your loved one has to have round-the-clock nursing care, it’d be pretty hard to beat Marley Court! Caring, thoughtful, competent staff - some of whom are nothing short of angels. As a family, we also love the range of activities arranged for the benefit of residents’ mental and physical wellbeing (both in-house and trips out where possible). Everyone is really hard-working under often challenging circumstances. Well done to you all!
Mum has been in Marley court for a number of months. Initially, Mum was very poorly needing lots of care. Staff throughout have been amazing showing they have really got to know and understand Mum's needs. The care has been great which is good to see and I feel I can relax a little knowing mum is safe and well cared for. They know her likes and dislikes and recognise when mum is unwell and know what to do for her. The care team are brilliant with her, often getting smiles from mum when no one else can. The best thing is seeing Mum well looked after and seeing she is happy, thank you.
We were happy to get a place here, on 1st inspection it was clean but very tired, needs an update bathrooms, entrance, and outside lighting on the car park. But it didn't smell, which was a plus. It became apparent that it was only good if you feed and move around yourself. We could be sat in the room with my dad 2-3 hours, no one knew we were there. Not a single visit from staff, cold coffee/tea not drank on a table out of reach, not much use if you are in bed. No help to get up, no chair in your room to use for you. Sometimes he would drink so much when we helped him, I am convinced he hadn't had a drink for hours. From the window could see staff on very regular fag breaks. I could name on one hand the caring staff. Unshaven not wearing a full set of PJs as it was easy for them. No dignity. At the end, one nurse told him to stay still, whilst she tried to do something, he had Parkinson's. To add instant they can't find a lot of his clothes, not even a sorry or reply to calls.
The care and compassion shown to my dad was exemplary by all members of staff. Dad was moved to Marley Court for the final two weeks of his life and he could not have been anywhere better. Likewise the support given to me was exceptional.
