View Full Details of The Glen Care HomeI have nothing but praise for The Glen. My mum passed away peacefully on the 4th of November. She was treated with dignity and compassion. My son and I were with her and they saw to all needs. Thank you so much for looking after her, it was a pleasure to know you all.
The staff are very helpful and help Grandad and he has turned a corner since coming into the home.
My experience is good but with my son being young it's hard for him to fit in so I feel that I should come more often.
My father is a resident at The Glen and he also compliments all the staff and management. The care my dad receives is impeccable and he is treated with utmost respect and dignity. I don't think I could have found anywhere nicer for my dad to be.
Mum went into The Glen Care Home in May and has been doing well after her stroke. She really enjoyed joining in some of the many activities that The Glen does and was pleased with her achievements. The staff are friendly, helpful and really communicate with the residents and their families. It really is a happy environment, bright and cheerful.
All staff are so friendly and helpful. Cater for individual needs, very happy with the care my great-aunt receives. I feel they respect her wishes and know my family member really well. Communication is also really good with regular updates on care plans. Overall, I’m relieved about how safe and secure and settled my family member is.
Mum spent two years under the care of The Glen Care Home, I found the overall standard of care excellent, lovely, welcoming, friendly and efficient staff where nothing asked was too much trouble. Absolutely fabulous team of people, highly recommend.
Fantastic few years of service to my late father. He was always clean and well-presented when I visited. The building was always kept to a high standard and the staff were great with the residents and visitors.
My nana has been at the Glen Care Centre for over a year now. She has settled well due to the consistent attention and kindness of the staff. The care has been excellent, reacting quickly to her changes in health both mental and physical and helping her emotionally showing so much compassion! I am always kept informed and involved with her care and encouraged and welcomed to visit. The staff work above and beyond to provide varied activities even contributing their own time and money to 'do up' the gardens.
My husband needed to move from residential care to dementia nursing care. We visited The Glen Care Home and really liked it there, but we had to wait because the new wing had to have the go-ahead to open. But he was finally admitted; he has come on in leaps and bounds and looks happy. The staff are brilliant and caring and kind. We are always made welcome when visiting. I have no complaints at all. It’s just a lovely brilliant place. So glad that my husband is finally settled.
Dad needed to go into nursing care straight from hospital and the minute I walked into The Glen Care Home, I knew it was the right place. The building itself is lovely, bright, modern, one level, and spotlessly clean. What has really made it perfect has been the staff; the kindness, friendliness and complete professional expertise have been exemplary. My dad passed away a few weeks after arriving and he was cared for very beautifully. The staff did everything to make him comfortable and to make me feel at home. I can't thank them enough.
Looking for a home for Mum, I went to visit The Glen Care Home and knew immediately it was the right place. Bright, clean, airy, and friendly. Mum settled in quickly and was very happy. The staff are amazing! From the domestics to management, they are kind and happy, and nothing is too much trouble. I found out how amazing the staff were when my mum sadly passed away a few days ago; I spent a lot of time there and stayed overnight. The staff went above and beyond to love and care for my mum and me! They brought me food and drinks, supported me, comforted me, and reassured me all through the night. They dealt with Mum with such dignity and respect; they sat with me and cried with me... their love and kindness overwhelmed me... this home is the best! There are always activities to interest the residents and keep them occupied... it was a happy home-from-home for my mum and for me when I visited. I never had to worry or doubt her care! Anyone looking for a great dementia home - go and look around!
I am unable to answer all the options as I have only once, so far, visited our neighbour but was very impressed by the welcome at reception and the staff which brought an extra chair into the room. Everyone of the staff around the home seemed very happy in their work, plus our neighbour said he had found everyone very pleasant and attentive. I have visited people previously in other care homes and have been quite upset on leaving but not from The Glen Care Home. Thank you.
Happy with most aspects of my partner's care. The only issue is with the decision to put my partner on a pulsed food regime. In my opinion, a more flexible approach would be more suitable for my partner's overall health and well-being.
I have full praise for the way all staff handle, help and care for the residents. They are knowledgeable, professional and helpful.
The way my mum is looked after is excellent, they are so caring and they like to have a laugh with my mum. Thank you.
My dad is happy and settled here. He came straight from hospital in May 2021 and the difference in him was amazing. The staff here are kind and friendly to both of us and I feel he's having the best care possible. Thank you!
The new dementia unit is a lovely environment. It is light, spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. Mum's room is of a high standard. An en-suite facility would be the ideal, however, as we have had issues with the copious amounts of toiletries we have had going missing, it would be helpful for staff who are stretched for time if there was a box/drawer for each resident in the communal bathroom. We have also had issues with clothes being shrunk or damaged in the washing/drying process. The staff are excellent and consistent which is a real achievement.
My mum was admitted to the home during lockdown so was a horrendous time for everyone concerned. Mum was very confused, being admitted from hospital, her behaviour was very out of character and her well-being had been compromised. However, my mum is now very happy, well cared for and stimulated. I could not wish for a better home. The staff all have time and show an interest in not only Mum, but her family as well. What a group of angels that worked so well with Mum in the early days. During her time at The Glen, Mum had a fall, broke her hip and ended up in hospital. The hospital gave up on Mum so I asked for Mum to go back to The Glen asap. 1 week back in the care of the Glen family, Mum had improved so much, due to the good care and love from the staff. So I think it's an amazing home for my mum she is so happy and that is what matters to us. The activities they provide are varied, fun, stimulating and very inclusive so carry on the good work.
Fantastic care home, friendly dedicated staff and a wonderful warm friendly atmosphere. Home from home.
