View Full Details of Priory Park Care HomeMy elderly in-laws moved to Priory Park approx 2 months ago, this was a forced move from a previous home and we were worried that it might prove problematic and speed up the diagnosis. In 2 months the change has been very positive, both are encouraged to walk as much as possible, they are eating properly (all home cooked) and both are happy and have settled in well. The home manager and her staff have been brilliant, making my in-laws actively engage with them and the other residents, the carers have a very happy, friendly and tactile approach and it's had a really good effect on them. It isn't nice to see any of your relatives with dementia having to reside in any care facility, but we are so happy with their progress and the fact that all the staff treat with them dignity and with a fun approach brings a little normality to a difficult situation. Credit where it's due, so thanks to Priory Park and all its wonderful staff.
We were initially worried about Dad going into a Care Home for the first time. It was a difficult decision after such a life of independence. Six months since he joined the home he's very settled, happier and stronger than when he struggled at home. The staff are really wonderful with him. He knows them well and they know him. We see the same familiar faces each time we visit and they love giving him a happy life which has restored his dignity. We happily recommend the home to anyone.
My dad has been at Priory Park Care Home in the Dementia unit for about 4 months now. He has settled in really well. He is eating better, sleeping better and overall is happier and alot more relaxed. I cannot praise the manager and her team enough for the care and compassion they have shown my dad, he has very complex needs and every one of his needs are met. 5 stars is not enough for this home and the way they look after Dad, if I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you so much to the manager and her team.
Coming to terms with the fact that you can no longer provide the level of care a loved one needs and that a nursing/care home is needed is never an easy decision. When looking for a home, we visited Priory Park Care Home and met with the manager, who spent an hour showing us around and discussing the care Mum would receive. In February this year, Mum become a resident, and I have always found the staff caring and approachable and have been kept informed of any decisions or needs relating to my mum's care. Not only do the staff care for Mum they have also been there for me too, and their support is much appreciated.
My mother-in-law has Alzheimer’s dementia. She moved into Priory Park recently after having a live-in carer at home for 7/8 months. Before moving in she had become increasingly upset, very distressed and anxious with changes in her behaviour with the carers in her own home. We accepted and followed all the professional advice of the care home manager, including not visiting initially for a few weeks to allow her to settle in. I am both relieved and extremely pleased with how well the transition went and is continuing to go without her being anxious, distressed or displaying behavioural changes. A very big heartfelt thank you to the manager for all your professional knowledge, advice, help and support and to all the staff for the welcoming, understanding and looking after her with kindness.
When entering the care home, we are always met by pleasant and friendly staff from the manager and throughout all of those who take part in the care and support of my sister. We are advised about PPE and current protocols around safety, security and the care of residents. We are offered a drink whilst visiting. We are very happy with the thoughtful, kind and caring attitude offered in the way that my elderly sister is cared for in the confusion of dementia.
After worrying about her loneliness and lack of social interaction for a long time, she has settled really well into Priory Park. The staff are all so supportive and attentive to her needs both physical and social.
It was a massive decision to move Mum from her home, but Priory Park is a lovely caring home from home. The Manager and all the staff are wonderful, they are an amazing team. Mum is very happy at Priory Park she is well cared for, settled and is safe. All the staff are very approachable and go out of their way to help and put plans in place to make things easier for Mum and for us. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done professionally and with a smile.
My father spent time in two previous care homes, neither of which could care for his needs so I was relieved to see him cared for well in Priory Park during his Discharge to Assess time. The staff were very supportive of his needs and gave him lots of time and attention during what was a difficult and stressful time for him. He wasn't easy to care for but the staff showed empathy and consideration for him at all times, never moaning about him when we visited. On the contrary, they really did see the beauty of him and cared for the needs of myself and my mum when we visited. They reassured us and offered valuable insights into my dad's behaviour and prognosis. They also supported us when the time came for my dad to return home and made themselves available should we need to get in touch. The manager was very involved with the day to day running and had a full understanding of my dad's needs. She gave my mum as much time as she needed during visits, helping to reassure her.
The manager of the home is excellent. She is a true advocate for people with Dementia. My dad suffered severe neglect from the hospital he was in and it was because of her persistence and the team at Priory Park that my dad survived and is now recovering and getting better. He is settled in this home and they feed him well. I can tell he is happy there and even on his birthday they made a cake and sang to him. So, it's not just about the basics but it's about making the residents feel loved and part of a family.
My mother suffers from Alzheimer's and has very complex needs. She can be aggressive to staff. The staff show professionalism and caring abilities towards my mother. The care home is always clean and tidy. Staff are friendly and to the new chef- food looks great! Management keeps us updated and staff understands mum's needs. Overall, very pleased with the care provided.
The manager and their team at Priory Park have been outstanding in their care towards our family member. Their open and transparent approach has allowed us to feel secure that our loved one is in the best place. They are well looked after, safe, provided with opportunities to partake in activities and have their individual needs met as they should be. The manager is incredibly approachable and this is refreshing and reassuring, particularly with a pandemic in place. Nothing is too much trouble for the team, they are all warm and welcoming and take time to speak to all relatives not just the service user. We could not ask for any more from the whole team at Priory Park from management to care team and cleaners to kitchen staff, you are all wonderful and we are so grateful to have such an amazing team looking after our loved one. Thank you!
I cannot recommend Priory Park enough, the whole team from management to the healthcare assistants on the floor have helped our family deal with a very difficult and complex situation and have kept Mum's wishes and best interest at the forefront in all decisions. They have not only assisted Mum with her needs but have supported our family tremendously. Mum loves it here and feels at home which is all we can ask for. Nothing has been too much trouble at any point, no matter what time we phone or visit. The care home setting is lovely, fresh, bright, and clean and they have plenty of activities to help keep Mum entertained and she is socialising more which is something that had stopped when living at home. The chefs will go out of their way to cook something that Mum fancies and have really supported in her dietary requirements. Highly recommend the manager and her whole team.
Mum is a resident at Priory Park. The staff and management are all understanding to her complex health and care needs and show great kindness. As a family we have experienced good communication with all the team, they keep us informed and involve us in reviews. Every member of staff at Priory Park is friendly and certainly do their best to help mum in any way they can.
As my mother went to Priory Park during the lockdown in January, I was not allowed upstairs to see her, but they were very good having a hub to visit. The staff are all so friendly and caring, and my mum seems very happy there. The new manager has been very helpful with any requests!
My dad has been a resident at Priory for a number of years, on Coniston. I would class the staff as my extended family as they provide, especially at this Covid time, the care and love to my dad that I cant. I can ring at any time and have a reassuring chat. They have communicated of future plans to enable safe visiting. The staff is amazing and we, as a family, would like to say a big thank you.
Mum has been in the home for almost five years. When she first arrived, she was in such a state that we thought we were going to lose her. However, since then she seems to have thrived (apart from an incident of abuse by a member of staff during the previous ownership). This was very traumatic for the family at the time but was dealt with. Mum seems none the worse for the experience, otherwise, we have been satisfied with her care.
Much improved since the new manager has been in place. The home is more organised and cleaner. Keep up the good work.
The care and consideration shown to my brother throughout and especially at the end of his life was superb. I was so gratified to see how kindly he was treated by the staff on his floor. When he sadly died, the care and understanding shown to me was wonderful. I think Priory Park is an excellent place and the staff throughout are magnificent.
My father was a resident recently and as a family, we can’t complain about the care he received. The staff treated him with dignity and respect as he wasn’t the easiest person to look after. He always looked clean and tidy. The treatment he received at end of life was faultless. All the staff we so compassionate and empathetic towards my father and my family. The staff treated the family with so much respect and couldn’t do enough for us. They were also compassionate and empathetic with the family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this home to friends and family. Thank you so much for everything.
