View Full Details of Springfield Care HomeMy mum has Alzheimer's and has moved to Springfield Care Home a few weeks ago. The staff are amazing with her and are helping her to settle in. She loves the activities and has made improvements since she moved here. Overall it's a very friendly and welcoming home.
Mum has been in six months and has been treated with kindness and respect from day one. The home is clean and comfortable. The staff are professional, caring, approachable, and friendly. Would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for residential care for a loved one.
Following a couple of respite visits to Springfield we decided that we could no longer care for Mum in her own home and decided that Springfield would be a good option for full-time residential care. She is in a lovely big room and the staff are all really nice to Mum and helpful. As her capabilities have deteriorated rapidly and is now unable to walk, it has confirmed our decision to have her in full-time care. We are always greeted by staff members and they all seem to be up to date on mums care. There has been a problem with getting responses with the local surgery but the staff are as frustrated as we are.
I have found the home to be a safe caring place for my Mum. Staff treat her with respect and dignity. The home is spotless and clean. She is included in activities she enjoys dancing. The food is really good, Mum loves her meals. I feel settled and very happy Mum is in such good hands.
My mum has had to come into the care home as her dementia was getting worse and she was no longer safe living at home alone. I am very happy with Springfield mum seems to be settling in nicely, the staff have worked hard settling Mum in and making her feel safe in her new environment. All the staff and management are lovely and very approachable.
Mum moved into Springfield in March 2024 and she settled really well quite quickly. This is down to the staff at Springfield making her feel welcome and a part of the Springfield family. All staff at Springfield are wonderful with the residents and their families, they are very patient, they give residents time and are very kind and caring and encourage them to join in with the wonderful activities that are organised each week. The food is also lovely for the residents. As a family we are very happy with Springfield and the love and care that Mum has had during her time there.
My mother could not be any happier. She feels safe and well cared for. The care team are brilliant. She is taken out and activities and entertainment are available for her. I would recommend the home to anyone.
Springfield Care Home was the perfect choice for my mum. From day one the staff have been very professional and reacted to any needs quickly. The activity lead encourages every resident to participate in activities including morning outings to the library and church activities. The food at the Springfield Care Home is very good with a choice for each meal.
Care staff are all attentive and look after the residents to the best of their ability but to us as relatives, the home seems short-staffed. Communication from management to relatives is lacking, for example, we as relatives have to ask instead of being kept informed after doctor visits etc.
We recently moved my mum into Springfield after a stressful time at another local nursing home. The staff at Springfield are very professional and easy to approach. The whole atmosphere is friendly and the residents are given the attention and care they need. Since moving here, my mum's whole personality and well-being have improved, and we are very happy and satisfied with our choice.
My dad had two weeks respite in this home. Staff were lovely, a very relaxed atmosphere. I was able to visit my dad whenever I could. The gardens were beautiful, Dad was able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. He said he'd enjoyed his stay, all the staff were great and would have stayed again.
As a family, we visited lots of homes before deciding on Springfield Care Home. Since Mum has been here - 4 months, she has improved immensely from the daily stimulation of company, activities and the care she has received. The staff and management are friendly, caring, approachable and have a generally welcoming, caring and friendly approach to both residents and their families. This is definitely the right place for our loved one.
Even though Dad was only there for three weeks, the staff made him, Mum and the family very comfortable. Could not have asked for them to do anything more - they were great.
My mum was in the home for just two years. She passed last Sunday. I can't praise the staff enough for her care. Over the two years, she had the best care, food and activities. Last week has been very hard, and the staff have looked after my sister and I so well. They made sure we were eating and taking care of ourselves. The last day was amazing. Even at the end, Mum showed how much she loved the staff and was loved by them. Again, we can't thank you enough.
My mother has been in the care of Springfield Nursing Home from August 21 to January 22. During this time, she was treated well in all respects by caring staff. My mum felt safe and comfortable in the home and was treated well with dignity until she passed away.
I do not have adequate superlatively to describe the standard of care offered to my mother whilst at Springfield. My ambition was to provide her with comfort and dignity. She had all that and a lot more. Everyone from senior management to hygiene is caring and fully engaged in the whole care ethos. Cannot praise highly enough!
My friend, who was a very independent and mentally aware lady, sadly suffered a stroke, which took her speech, swallowing reflex and the use of her right side. Staff at Springfield took time to get to know her as a person, involving friends and relatives in that process, which meant they could provide individual care. These have been challenging times due to Covid for everyone concerned, but the home maintained the safety of their residents, staff and visitors appropriately and always with a smile. I am a retired nurse and former matron/proprietor of a nursing home, so I speak with experience when I say it was always a pleasure to visit my friend. Thank you to you all!
My sister was cared for from January 2019 to March 2021. She was always happy and treated with care and respect by all staff members, as was I on my daily visits to her.
Placing Mum in a care home was the last thing I ever wanted to do. The decision was taken out of our hands when we physically could no longer adequately care for Mum at home. The first choice of nursing home that had been chosen in January 2020 was not able to take Mum due to Covid being in the home. They referred us to Springfield Nursing Home, and I will be forever grateful that Springfield were able to quickly accept Mum, and for the care they gave to Mum. As soon as it was possible, we were able to visit Mum in the Covid safe conservatory, and when visiting was permitted into the home, this was carefully managed to maintain safety for staff, patients and visitors. Mum deteriorated quickly in the last week, and the care and love that was given to Mum were incredible. If you are reading this review trying to make a choice of where to place a loved one, please arrange a visit, the home and staff are amazing; thank you so much for all you did for Mum.
Our close family friend came to Springfield for what turned out to be end-of-life care. The staff were very kind and considerate to all his personal and other needs. Our visits were not restricted to any particular time of day or night nor to any specific duration. Nothing was too much trouble no matter what time of day. His care and treatment were exemplary and very reassuring to us that he was getting the best.
