View Full Details of Stocks Hall Nursing Home SkelmersdaleQuite simply, the love, care and attention my father receives from all nursing and cares at Stocks Hall Nursing Home Skelmersdale was above and beyond what I expected. His final moments of life were dignified and attentive. Words are simply not enough. My father has very complex needs and requirements, to put it mildly. Thank you - I need not have worried, and the time he had with you was perfect.
Have to say the advice, guidance and support when making choices about care for my father was second-to-none. Grateful for the great work the manager and her team do. Would have no reservations in recommending it. Many thanks.
My mum has been at Stocks Hall since October 2020 and has very challenging behaviours related to her dementia. She is always well cared for, and the staff are helpful and pleasant. They keep the family appropriately informed about Mum, which has been particularly important during the pandemic. The staff appear to have good knowledge and understanding of dementia and associated issues. In addition, I am aware that staff within the home also have good knowledge of non-dementia related care needs, which has helped my mum greatly. They also link in with local clinicians as required. The care provided to Mum is centred on her needs. I have stated below that I don't know about activities because currently, I don't. However, prior to the pandemic, the activities and trips out were excellent. I would happily recommend the home, especially for individuals with challenging behaviours.
The care from the staff has been excellent. Sadly due to the COVID situation, interaction with the family has been very limited. Prior to face to face visits, his condition has markedly improved now that he can see his family, hopefully, this improvement will continue.
The staff are exceptional in the way they have cared for my husband both clinically and socially. Dignity and respect at all times. I have always felt so lucky to have found Stocks Hall and for my husband to be accepted. It’s the only nursing home that I could confidently recommend to others.
I am satisfied with the care of my husband is receiving. The majority of staff appear to care despite difficult moments and do the best they can.
Some areas neem refurbishment; bathroom, outside areas and marks/holes in the walls where previous light fittings, etc. have been. Issues sometimes need repeat discussions before they are acted on. Staff are always friendly. Messes, like food/drink, need cleaning up sooner than they are. Residents need more frequent trips out.
My dad has been in two other homes but has never been happier and the staff and the environment are truly amazing.
I am so pleased with the care my husband has been given by the staff who are all so caring. I visit most days and witness how good they are with even the most difficult residents. My husband has settled so well after his previous care home could not meet his needs. The staff here have no problem with him.
My father is well cared for. The staff at the home are all very friendly.
The best care home my mum has been in. Her care is beyond reproach. The home is very clean and welcoming, the staff are excellent. Thank you for the care and dignity that you provide.
My husband has been here over a year. It's very pleasant, staff are great. On the whole very pleased. No issues whatsoever.
We as a family have found the home to be highly satisfactory in all the important areas of care. Staff are professional, committed, dedicated and caring. They have the resident's care and health as a high priority and are not defensive when asked a question. The staff both care and act with great dignity and empathy.
After trying different homes that were more local, Stocks Hall was the only home that would accept my husband, of that I am truly thankful. The care the staff give is second to none and is a credit to all concerned.
I am very happy with the care home. The staff and all the carers are very helpful and very caring. They not only look after the residents but their families as well. One day, whilst visiting, I was crying and trying not to let anyone see but one of the carers saw me and took me somewhere quiet and listened to me and we had a chat and I was very grateful to her for the time that she spent with me.
My mum spent almost 7 months here after her original care home refused to take her back after an A+E visit with a urine infection. Mum died aged 92 probably cardiac arrests, she had, had no hospital visits nor seen a GP in 7 months- a testament to the care provided at Stocks Hall. She has recently enjoyed trips out, eating cake at a shopping centre and just over a week before she died had enjoyed the annual summer fayre, winning a tombola and eating cakes. Mums death was not expected in regard to her age and heart condition but she lived and enjoyed life up to the end. Thanks to the staff at Stocks Hall.
The care home is very good. Every member of staff knows our relatives and names her. They deal with her particular and complex needs kindly and gently. I observe similar treatment of other residents. However the overall impression of the FABRIC of the home is not good, the new floor has made a difference but improvements are desperately needed to brighten and make more homely rooms and common areas. The second bathroom on first floor should be immediately revamped.
