View Full Details of Swansea TerraceThe staff and management are amazing. The care my mum has been given is first class. Mum came here at the beginning of the year, she is very settled, nothing is too much trouble, they are very attentive to my mum's needs. All the residents are very happy and content.
My mother was discharged from hospital just before Christmas and was offered a temporary care place at Swansea Terrace. From the day she arrived to the day she left mid January the care was exemplary. She was encouraged to sit downstairs and interact with the other ladies which was so important to her mental health. There were lots of activities and visitors came to the home providing entertainment. The meals were served at specific times and the food was very good. Drinks and snacks were served mid morning and afternoon and she could have a drink/snack anytime she needed one. Everyone that worked at the home did everything to provide the best care and I was never worried about how she was being looked after. This is the first experience with a relative being in a care home and I was nervous about what to expect. I am very happy to confirm that my overall experience of Swansea Terrace has been a very positive one and I would recommend them to anyone.
I would definitely recommend Swansea Terrace Care Home. My mum has been there since August and she is doing great. With the help of the team at Swansea, she has been encouraged to socialise and I'm happy to say that she is doing so much better. I live out of the country and each time I call Swansea, the staff are very polite and always provide me with an update on my mum. I'd like to thank the manager for her support and also give a huge shout-out to the activity coordinator. She has kindly arranged for me to talk to my mum on a weekly basis using a particular messaging service. This has meant the world to me as I get to actually see my mum and speak with her. I'm so happy my mum is there. Thank you to everyone!
My sister has been in Swansea Terrace for a short time while she recovered from hospital. While she has been there I've found the staff very helpful, my sister may be a handful in her way but the staff have gone out of their way to keep me updated on any matters they have to deal with.
Swansea Terrace is the best, very good. Staff 24/7.
Very satisfied with Swansea Terrace.
The home has changed immensely since my mum moved in and new management took over. The staff are caring, communication has improved and I feel happy that my mum's needs are being met. The activities coordinator finds simple activities that keep the residents happy and moving as best they can and there is now a lovely camaraderie developing among the residents. Great to see!
I have found the 6 weeks my wife has been in Swansea Terrace. My worries and stress levels for my wife, first moved in because of falling out of bed. After talks with the manager, they fitted the safety sides to the bed and I was pleased with the manager's response to my request and the rest of the requirements she has sorted out for me.
Mum is happy here. Staffing levels are very good and staff are helpful and considerate. Activities are provided that are varied, enjoyable and inclusive. Meals are good, with a selection of options to choose from.
Very good caring staff and management made my dad very welcome, we as a family are very happy for Dad to be here.
The home is clean and well-staffed, they can't do enough to help, the activities are amazing, pizza making, singing and dancing, which my mum enjoys. My mum is very fussy with food and they will make her anything that she likes, they really are amazing with my mum.
Excellent experience from when I came in from home bedridden to 90% fit. Excellent staff, care etc.
During the refurbishment there has been extra work/cleaning etc and some usual activities have been cancelled. Staff have been rerouted onto other duties including extra cleaning and supervision.
My husband is a resident in Swansea Terrace Home. The carers are very good with him and make sure he is always adequately cared for and I am happy for him to be staying there. At the moment the home is being refurbished throughout. They have had new windows and they are re-decorating throughout. The manageress is very approachable and very good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the home to anyone.
Mum first came to Swansea Terrace in May of last year when my sister and I thought it to be a good home for her. Shortly afterwards, things began to deteriorate; poor food, large turnover of managers, buzzers left unanswered and no activities. We were very much considering moving her. However, so I have since learned, safeguarding issues amongst others were raised, the big guns were brought in and things appear to be on the up, slowly. Only time will tell - watch this space.
My mum has received nothing but excellent care here. The staff are so caring and treat Mum so lovingly. She has had a horrendous experience, which left her traumatised. They have helped her to lessen the fear, by carefully and patiently dealing with it in a gentle and dignified way. I could go on because I can't thank them enough, more than words can say!
I found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and caring to everyone. The premises were clean and tidy and there was plenty of staff available at all times. I would say from what I saw on my visit a very caring home for the residents.
I have been visiting a resident for at least six months now. I'm a retired nurse with experience in the care of the elderly for many years - my friend always speaks highly of the carers, treatment and food. Quite often in care homes, there's a smell of incontinence - bit not so at Swansea Terrace. I feel the residents are treated with dignity, which I feel is so very important to the elderly. I have found all staff to be pleasant, welcoming, attentive and professional. I like the feeling of space at Swansea Terrace. If I need care in future years, I would definitely choose Swansea Terrace - so compliments to all management and each and every one of your lovely staff.
The staff are very rude when you find them. My friend was left in bed until after dinner and was never changed all morning. The food was cold and disgusting. Would definitely not recommend. There is no care at all. We had to take our friend out after a week.
Early phone call with desk very helpful and obliging. On arrival, shown to my friend's room, using a lift, by a kind male carer. My friend lay almost flat with meal on tray. My friend was attempting to eat. I helped her to raise the back rest - easier to eat that way. A cup of tea was requested - took an age to come. My friend does not require a beaker to drink from - the staff changed for a cup and plastic glass. Bedding blood stained. Medication delivered, not observed taking/swallowing it by a carer. "Solid pads" bin in bathroom overflowing. Asked a carer to dispose of waste. No handwash in the dispenser. Bins too full to dispose of - paper towels. Staff very kind and helpful. Heard discussions of being short staff and redundancies.
