View Full Details of Green Park Nursing HomeMum has always been well looked after since moving to Green Park. She is always up and dressed, fed and watered with her room always clean and tidy. The staff do an amazing job looking after everyone's loved ones and always speak in a well-mannered way. If I had one small negative it is the rooms are a little dated and could do with being redecorated.
Our father was placed on the Kensington Unit, after a spell in hospital, it was our first time even visiting the care home. I can honestly say from the office staff on arrival to each and every one of the staff I can't praise them enough, the care Dad gets daily from all carers and nursing staff is nothing but outstanding, he's happy settled, even though we've nearly lost him a few times due to illness, I honestly believe the care he had is what's pulled him through, the activity team, domestics, laundry, and management are always there to answer any questions, they have such respect for everyone they're caring for, they also make families welcome, excellent home and care, I've also made some lovely friends here, thank you for giving me the peace of mind that Dad's well looked after.
I felt the time was right to put a friend with dementia in a home. I looked at reviews and happened to look round as they were opening a new unit so had spaces. She was not herself when she arrived and we had struggled to get her washed and changed to eat or drink. I left it 2 weeks to let her settle and I am so glad I did. She is clean, changed, hair washed, nail polish on... nowhere near the shadow of herself I took in who spent her days crying and no interest in anything. She was watching TV for the first time in ages and very articulate. Thank you to the staff for not only making it easier for us, but for doing an amazing job! I had wondered if I was doing the right thing.
My brother who has complex learning difficulties, dementia and health needs became a resident of Devonshire Dementia Nursing Unit in December 2023. I cannot praise highly enough the day-to-day care and support provided to my brother by the exceptional dementia care team of nurses, carers, support and admin staff. They are all extremely friendly, polite, helpful and we are kept fully informed. The food and cleanliness is excellent.
To put it simply, without this facility and all its wonderful staff my mum's quality of life would awful. There's not enough words to praise the quality of care given every day to all the residents, from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed nothing is too much trouble. Quite simply outstanding.
Mum had been in residential care at a previous home, and the care was awful. Since being at Green Park, Mum has improved immensely. The care is amazing, she is looked after so well. I cannot fault the Deputy Manager and her team for their efforts to make sure Mum is looked after.
The care my dad has received since moving into Green Park in July 2023 has been excellent. Each and every member of staff demonstrates a caring and personal approach to my dad and all of the family members who come to visit... Thank you.
We as a family are very happy with Green park, my husband is being well cared for, treated with respect, the bedroom is always beautiful and clean. The food provided is very good, enjoyed very much by my husband, the staff are all helpful and caring.
My father-in-law has been cared for at Green Park since July 2023. I have been really encouraged to see the level of care that he receives, it is clear to see that he is well looked after from the cleanliness of his room and surroundings to the compassionate way he is treated by the staff. This has really helped to give peace of mind to all the family that the decision made to put him in care was the right one.
My mum's condition has worsened considerably recently, however, the help and support from the staff have been fantastic.
I feel I need to write an honest review of the unit my husband is on Kensington Unit it’s a very challenging dementia unit the nursing staff work to a very high standard of care and are always professional in their manner and managed the unit well. The care staff are fantastic in dealing with residents they are kind and treat them with respect at all times I would also like to mention the activities team who are enthusiastic and work extremely hard and engage with the residents really well bringing music days and creativity activities which meet all the residents needs. I also have to say that the kitchen staff laundry staff and domestic and maintenance people are always extremely good and happy to help in any way they can. As for the manager and deputy manager they are always out and about on the different units always approachable to speak to about anything that may need addressing and will always get back to you to answer your questions he gets excellent care and attention.
My lovely mum passed away in January. I had to send this review to share our experience as the dignity and respect that was given to her daily and at her end of life was above and beyond. As a family, we would like to thank all the staff, especially management for their professionalism, empathy, and care they provided for all of us during and after this very difficult and sad time. The management encouraged feedback regularly both good and areas of improvement, acted upon this, followed up with relatives and residents, and consistently provided a caring, loving, family environment to all of the residents, their families, and their staff. Management, nurses, carers, kitchen, domestic, maintenance, and activity workers showed care, comfort, and kindness to my mum and my dad who visited daily and we as a family are thrilled to hear that Greenpark Nursing Home will be “The forever home” dedicated to nursing for Dementia residents.” Thank you all for being part of our journey.
First off there are some lovely carers here and the activity girls are amazing. However, this is overshadowed by the appalling management at this facility. Firstly my mother was moved to a different unit and the way the move was handled by management was disrespectful, to say the least. In the following months we have been ignored by management regarding care concerns. The icing on the cake was a resident meeting where we were basically informed that my mum and the majority of residents in Balmoral were being evicted. There were numerous discrepancies in the reasons why but basically it was a business decision. The way this has been handled is cold, callous and completely disrespectful and residents have not been treated with the dignity a respect that they deserve. Thankfully we managed to find an alternative facility and in all honesty cannot believe the difference. Management needs to learn a thing or two about professionalism within the care sector and basic human decency.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Appalling leadership and management from the home manager and deputy. Complaints are not addressed or actioned, care standards are at times beyond poor. Only a couple of carers actually show they care. The kitchen/dining area is dirty. Lack of basic equipment, hand towels etc. Food plain, boring, unappetising and never enough sent. Avoid this home in my opinion.
My mother was given notice to move out at the end of March however she needed hospital care, needing her to be admitted. They terminated her contract 2 weeks early making her homeless. Shocking behaviour from a care home.
Absolutely appalled to find out the community on Balmoral Unit are all being evicted. The home manager referred to all family members as bed blockers, duty of care is nonexistent. They say they are working with family members. All I've heard is my Mum had a missed dose of insulin. My mum is very poorly, aorta aneurysm which has bulged out further. The move and stress of having to move what she thought was her home will not be good. I've also heard another unit may well close once the Balmoral unit has been renovated. I wouldn't trust these, there were only two carers who did care for my mum, I can't fault them (not the home manager) and I bet this review will not be posted.
My Mum came to Green Park on end-of-life care. She had been in hospital for a month and it was noisy, busy and limited visiting. I asked for a quiet, comfortable and peaceful place for her family to be with her. Green Park was the perfect place. Mum’s room was beautifully decorated, clean and peaceful. All the staff were excellent, caring and compassionate. All of Mum's needs were met and we were always made welcome and encouraged to visit. During the last 2 weeks of Mum’s life, we were allowed to be with her as much as we wanted to and Mum was kept very comfortable and her pain was monitored at all times. Mum passed away peacefully with us all by her side. I cannot thank everyone at Green Park enough for all the care and compassion they gave to Mum and all the family.
Staff at Greenpark go over and above to offer the best care they can. They are keen to offer a variety of activities and environments to suit individual needs. You are kept well informed about any changes in their health or what activities they have been up to. Staff always have time to chat with you. Don’t be put off by the tired-looking reception as they are trying to improve outdoor spaces and areas. The staff make up for it with their caring, friendly and professional attitudes. My Dad has settled in well since arriving in March 2023.
I cannot praise this nursing home enough. My sister has come on in leaps and bounds since arriving here. The staff are wonderful, friendly, helpful and caring. She is much more responsive and much happier than she has been for years. It's amazing how she has improved.
My dad was cared for from February 2023 until he passed away on the 21st of May 2023. During his short time at Green Park Nursing Home the staff genuinely looked after him with such kindness. He was well-liked by them all and the family cannot thank them enough for the way they made his last weeks as comfortable as possible by looking after dad and all the family. Would recommend Green Park Nursing Home highly. Thanks.
