View Full Details of High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing HomeMum has been at High Peak for 15 months, during this time she has been well looked after. She enjoys the food and her interaction with the staff. Every time we have visited, the staff have been helpful and the room's very clean.
High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing Home is a large detached property with a large garden for the residents. The rooms inside are spacious and well-maintained. The bedrooms are also spacious with en suite facilities. The management and carers are very friendly and efficient.
My dad was reluctant to go into a home, but once in, he had the best care possible. The carers gave him so much care and attention that he loved being there. I feel he's had the best quality of life he possibly could coming towards the end.
I was apprehensive about putting him into a home as we have been together and married for 62 years. His quality of life at home was not good and was very hard for me to care for him. When he went in, he was welcomed with open arms, and the care and attention they gave was outstanding. All the visitors were made welcome and also cared for. I, myself, always offered a cuppa. Fantastic place to go.
My mum has been in High Peak Lodge on a short-term placement for about the last 2 months. She had previously been in a different home that basically just left her in bed all the time for a month. Since Mum has been here, I have nothing but praise for the nurses, carers and all staff at the home. They are wonderful with her and ensure she is up, dressed and in the communal areas every day, mingling and keeping her mind active. Today was her birthday and when I visited they had planned a surprise with all the staff, singing 'Happy Birthday' to her as they took a cake with candles for her to blow out. She was overcome with emotion, it was such a thoughtful and lovely surprise. I feel so comfortable there myself whenever I visit. I know she is being well looked after and is safe and loved.
My wife has been a resident in High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing Home for over five years. I have never had any concerns about any aspect of her care. She has always received respect and love as we all as very good care. I do not ever remember any instances where I was concerned about her well-being.
I write on behalf of our family - our mother has been in High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing Home since December 2021. She a difficult case for staff due to family conflict. However, my mother loves her home at High Peak. She has a fantastic relationship with all staff and residents. She enjoys partaking in all activities. The staff are extremely patient, friendly and helpful. They ensure she has a balanced diet of regular visits from all her family. Staff are extremely professional and on the whole, as a family, we are extremely satisfied with all aspects. Would highly recommend.
I have been visiting my wife at High Peak Lodge for five years, and I cannot praise the staff and management enough. I am always warmly greeted, and the staff are very pleasant. The home appears to be well-run, and I am kept informed of any issues regarding my wife's condition.
When first visiting the home, we noticed that it felt very homely and didn't smell of anything nasty - it just smelt nice, it was clean, and the residents looked happy. They looked like they were being looked after well. All the staff go the extra mile while caring for the residents. I feel confident that my partner is being cared for, as well as I would care for him if I could.
Every time I have visited, Mum is clean and comfy and seems happy to be here. All staff take time to take to her; she has favourites. Before reviewing, I asked her how she feels being here, and she is happy, which is all we can ask for.
My Nan moved to High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing Home in January, she required palliative nursing care and although she was only at the home for just under 5 weeks we cannot praise the staff here enough. The manager, nurses and care staff all took the time to regularly communicate with the family and offered comfort and support as my nan’s health deteriorated. My Nan sadly passed away at the end of February surrounded by her family, with comfort and dignity due to the high level of care provided by the home. We are so grateful to the care provided in the last weeks of her life and on the day she passed. We could not have asked for any more support on that day. As a social care professional, I had previously heard good feedback about High Peak Lodge and had some interaction with the manager of the home that led me to believe that my nan would be well cared for here and resulted in this being our preferred home. Thank you so much to all the staff at the home.
Amazing place, I cannot thank this home enough for what they have done for my family, they have been caring for my Dad, till he sadly just recently passed away. They also are looking after my Grandma, who has been with them since August (2020) she was only given 3 months and these amazing people got her to her 100th birthday in February and she is still going strong. All the staff from the management down are just fantastic, I cannot recommend enough.
My mum was a resident in this care home for two years and in that time she made lots of friends and formed great bonds. We had peace of mind she was well looked after and her special care was catered for her.
I have nothing but positive things to say about High Peak Lodge, despite the fact that my mother sadly only had the benefit of this home for two weeks before she passed away. After having contact with a number of different care homes locally, High Peak stands out as a friendly, warm, empathic home. Although many homes say that they focus on the individual, this is borne out in the whole culture of High Peak. I remember the manager asking me about my mother prior to her moving to High Peak, and when I started to talk about her physical needs she was clear that her priority was to learn about my mother's character; this was a refreshing contrast to the questions I had been asked by other care homes and even social care staff. The manager is clearly very committed to making the lives of her staff, residents and their relatives as positive as possible; the staff all spoke very highly of her, as did she of her staff. I cannot recommend High Peak highly enough.
My mum was set to High Peak Lodge for the last few weeks of her life, all the staff were very supportive and kind and mum was looked after really well. It was a tough time but we were all supported really well there.
Dad lived at High Peak Lodge for 6 months and was always treated as an individual with dignity and respect. Dad's spiritual needs in addition to physical and emotional care were included by all staff, which meant a great deal to his family and friends, especially when unable to see him in person due to covid restrictions. All staff should be proud of the care they give and the 'extra mile' they go. Thank you.
2020 has been a challenging time for everyone, but having to place your mother in care following a stroke alongside Covid restrictions was heartbreaking. Thankfully the management and team at High Peak were welcoming and wonderful with mum nothing was too much trouble. They felt like an extension of our family. Knowing mum was safe and being looked after meant the world to us, care staff does not get the credit they deserve. Covid meant no face-to-face visits but the home set up video calls for family and window visits which were really appreciated and valuable to maintain contact especially during mum's last months. At all times we were kept updated if the nurse was required for anything big or small, unlike many hospitals. The activity coordinators set up a WhatsApp group so family and friends could share photos and videos with mum and the home could share photos with us of mum joining in activities, priceless during covid times. I cannot thank or recommend High Peak enough
My Mother was admitted to High Peak in May 2020 after surgery and due to advanced dementia and is still a resident under the covid arrangements. I cannot speak highly enough of the care our Mother has received from the whole team from the nursing team and domestic staff to the leadership team. Despite the challenges of the pandemic period, this team have managed to find a balance of superb open and honest communication whilst maintaining a 'home from home' feel with lots of friendly interaction and humour which our Mother loves! A special mention has to go to the activity co-ordinators who provide sensory interaction and enable the whole family to stay in touch with Mum via a private, family WhatsApp group - this lifeline has, without doubt, made a huge difference to the otherwise adverse impact that the pandemic restrictions could have had on her health and wellbeing. A huge thank you from all the family to everyone at High Peak for everything you are doing!
I was really happy that my grannie was at High Peak. She was so well looked after, all the carers and other staff were lovely. I used to visit with my dog, we always got a warm welcome and she used to love coming to the home. The atmosphere is very homely and it was a perfect place for my grannie to live her final years. I've visited during numerous activities for the residents, there was so much going on that I didn't get to see, but I saw plenty of posters and photos of the activities. They really try to make the days happy and full for the residents. High Peak is an amazing nursing home, and I will always be grateful that they looked after and cared for my grannie as if she was their own family member.
I was very happy that mum got a place at High Peak and the support and care given to mum was outstanding. As mum's deputy I had to deal with finances and other paperwork and knowing that she was being well looked after gave me peace of mind. The honest and open communication between the home and family was very much appreciated. It was only fitting that on the day of the funeral mun should leave from High Peak as this had been her home for four years. The staff turned out to say goodbye and the guard of honour was very moving. This will stay with me for a long time.
