View Full Details of Florence Mill Care HomeMy grandma has been living here for a few months, she seems happy. The staff where she lives are good, they like to help and have a laugh with the residents. I've seen the management team in my grandma's home (there's a few homes on site), they seem lovely and always take time to speak to the people that live there, they speak to staff too, asking if their okay. They organise parties for people's birthdays and singers come in, some people who live with my grandma got up and were dancing. I would recommend Florence Mill to other people.
The staff on Waterside unit are very kind and caring, they work really hard ensuring the comfort of all the residents. They are constantly checking that the residents have everything they need be that food, drink or personal care.
In the short time my dad has been in the care of Florence Mill Care Home, I can only give positive feedback. From day one, we were made very welcome and I feel that the staff looking after my dad in 'Moss' are excellent. It has a very warm, family vibe and my dad seems happy. Unfortunately, my dad is bed-bound so unable to sit in the lounge and enjoy the company of other residents and daily activities that take place but staff are always popping into his room just to have a little chat and to check his needs! Which is reassuring to me and my mum. The food is always lovely, my dad says, and varied, well suited to Dad's situation (has to be fed). The only small negative I would say, the rooms are a little tired, especially the one my dad is in! Fitted units a bit shabby and flooring needs replacing but curtains and bedding are lovely and always clean.
I've only put satisfactory for safety because when my dad first came here he said he felt a bit scared, however, he said he feels much better now.
The staff are great but once or twice had to have a word about things going missing. There was also an issue with an injury.
I would like it if other residents didn't walk into my grandmother's room at night as it really scares her and she seems frightened when I arrive. I also think that carers should be still doing there jobs when activities are on and not be pulled from pilar to post doing multiple things.
Great home with great carers who are very attentive and offer a fantastic level of care. My mum is very happy in the home which offers a great deal of comfort to me and my brother who visit frequently and are never disappointed.
Mum is well cared for and has settled in well. She has now been in Waterside House for almost a year and she is safe and well-cared for. I am kept fully informed about Mum at all times and informed of any medical issues.
Worst place ever. Found my stepdad in bed with his coat on 4hrs after admission. Huge breaches of data protection, extremely poor management. Manager was rude and dismissive after I complained about a major incident that took place. Would never recommend this place.
Both my parents are now residents in Florence Mill, each with differing needs. We as a family have found all staff very efficient, and approachable and have made Mum and Dad comfortable and secure in all their needs. The main lounge area is bright, and spacious for residents, staff and families to interact in activities and events throughout the year.
My mum has been in Florence Mill Care Home since March 2023. After a few teething issues she has settled well and appears happy and well looked after. I live in Canada and have a regular weekly call with her. Any issues I may have had are dealt with professionally and speedily, especially by the care manager who has been an enormous support for me.
From mum arriving at the end of January, there has been nothing but care and attention to her needs and ours as a family. The staff are exceptional, from ensuring hygiene to dressing them in their own clothes, caring what the individual actually looks like, knowing what they like to eat and drink and having a general conversation with the individual. We feel mum is content, safe and cared for. To me superstars and thank you.
My experience has been mixed. Some of the staff are wonderful and some can be dismissive, we have asked on a number of occasions to give dad food he likes as he eats very little. The entertainment lady is excellent but some of the younger staff lack initiative. I have had some serious concerns that are apparently being addressed.
Pleased with the time and care that the staff give to residents.
The staff at Florence Mill Care Home have made my mum feel comfortable, safe and secure. They take great pride in making Florence Mill a ‘home’ away from home and treat their guests with dignity, respect and understanding. I’ve not seen my mum sing in years!
I would like to write this review as a big thank you to the staff of Waterside, Florence Mill Care Home. They work so hard and it doesn't go unnoticed how they have helped my mum over the past years. It has been a difficult few years but I take some comfort that they do their very best for her and accommodate her needs. Thank you again, the staff of Waterside.
After being assessed as requiring residential care, my father was placed wrongly on a dementia unit when all he needed was help with mobility and personal care. His mental health suffered and I moved him after a week. In the 7 days he was there he was moved several times. Very badly managed.
Due to Covid restrictions and my husband only just becoming a resident. I have not been into Waterside House, however, all the staff I have met both inside and outdoors are all very friendly, helpful, cheerful and kind.
My aunt is living on Brook House at Birch Court Care Home. They do an amazing job. My aunt is well cared for, they show her kindness and they treat her like she is one of their own family. The staff always have smiles on their faces even though it's such a difficult time during Covid. The house manager is wonderful always happy, smiling and polite and always very helpful. He deals with queries or worries very efficiently and he has put my mind at rest in the past. I know my aunt must be missing her family but shes in the best place. I would recommend Birch Court to anyone looking for a care home.
I am very pleased with the loving care my mother has received in Birch Court Care Home. The staff has gone above and beyond to make Mum's stay as comfortable as possible. I can not thank them enough as we are all going through these bad times at the moment. It is a comfort to myself knowing Mum is being taken care of. Thank you.
