View Full Details of Millbrow Care HomeI visited two friends - one who is a bedridden stroke victim and was very pleased to see how she was being taken care of. A homely, clean, bright room with clean bed linen. Just wish the staff had popped in more often than they did. As the patient is unable to press the buzzer if needs something. The staff were very attentive friendly and welcoming. The second friend was in the sitting room and was being taken well care of was nicely dressed in clean clothes - also saw a lady I used to work with some years ago. She was also a stroke victim but could sit in the lounge in the chair. She said she likes it there.
I have always found all the staff very accommodating and friendly and always willing to help in any situations.
The home is not the most up to date but in terms of care it is second to none. The staff are very friendly and always look to go the extra mile for you. Considering the job they do on a daily basis and what they have to do with the condition my nan is currently in, they all keep professional but down to earth and make us feel safe knowing my nan is here. Credit to the staff.
I'm very happy with the quality of care that yourselves are providing at the home, as every time I visit the home, it has a happy and cheerful atmosphere. The carers are fantastic and the activities that everyone can participate in are wonderful. If I had one problem, it would be I never seem to see a manager present. The numerous times I've wanted to talk to the manager she is never there but overall a lovely home .
Having had initial reservations about the home when looking for somewhere for my mother and father-in-law to be cared for, I must say that my opinion has completely changed. The staff are amazing and do a wonderful job looking after and interacting with the residents. The home itself has a more welcoming feeling since its recent re-decoration and improvements to outdoor facilities. Daily activities are organised and available for residents to join in with. Possible suggestions for improvement would be: Better communications with ALL close relatives regarding changes, updates, events, etc. A simple notice board with this information would suffice as not all relatives can visit on a weekly basis or hear about meetings, etc. Staffing levels to be monitored, particularly upstairs. I often feel my father-in-law looks unkempt. This is not a criticism of the staff as they are fantastic, however they are expected to do so much that there isn't always time to change his clothing, etc.
A very friendly home with a very welcoming atmosphere both by decoration and the staff. The facilities seem excellent and the new garden pavilion area is fantastic for the residents. Every time I have visited there are are activities going on which the residents seemed to enjoy taking part in.
I have been visiting my mother in here for about ten years, calling at all times and in that time I have never found anything wrong or worrisome. On the contrary, the staff have always been very kind and cheerful. Baal epitomises these qualities and whilst my mother is in this care home being looked after by all of the staff, my mind is at rest.
Positives: -Overall more + veg than - veg. -There is a lot of activities which my relative really benefits from. -Staff seem caring and attentive. -Home is always clean and tidy. Less positives: -My relative sometimes looks like he needs a shave. -Sometimes his room smells of urine. -Sometimes I wonder when he last had a bath - this could/should be better.
Much improvement in recent months, more staff and improved care.
My friends care is excellent. All staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful. Care home clean, facility good.
I find the staff very helpful and caring.
My sister has been in this home for several years and I have seen a huge improvement in the facilities ie. bedrooms, bathrooms, living and dining areas. The staff, from all levels are excellent and caring. Her family are happy that she has settled in and well looked after.
I recently made a visit to Millbrow Care Home on a recommendation from a friend for a possible home for my mother. I was very unsure as i had heard of Millbrows colourful reputation, not good i thought. What a wonderful surprise and experience we had, we were greeted by a very pretty, pleasant and friendly young lady who turned out to be the home manager. We were given a show round which we didn't expect and were told this is welcomed and shows the home in it's true colours, YES IT DID wonderful, friendly, clean and happy. Every question we asked was answered in a positive transparent manner.
