View Full Details of Adeline House Care HomeI do not have any problems with my sister's care. They keep me updated with anything and can always answer any questions I may have.
My sister spent the last year of her life here suffering from advanced Parkinson's and dementia. The care she received was outstanding. The home is clean and organised though very busy. The staff at all levels were kind and patient with her sometimes difficult and unpredictable behaviour. I was moved by the love and tenderness that I witnessed and, although it was sad to watch her decline, I knew that she couldn't have been in a better place. I would recommend Adeline House without hesitation.
The staff are always helpful and polite. They work tirelessly to provide care and the needs of all their service users. The meals are very substantial and every care is given for people with allergies. Adeline House Care Home is kept clean and fresh every day.
My wife recently spent a week in Respite Care. I found the facilities and staff to be very good. The staff displayed a very caring and professional attitude and had obviously got to know my wife during her stay. I phoned daily and I was pleased that on every occasion I was able to be told how my wife had been since last phoning, never put on hold while the information was sought from another. So in short I would use Adeline House again without hesitation.
Adeline House staff has cared for my mum for 2 years with love, respect and kindness. Myself and family are extremely grateful to you all for the past care and future care ahead. At present we are all facing the most frightening time of our lives and yet all of you at Adeline House are placing your own lives at risk to care for not only my mum but the loved ones of so many families. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so selfless and so caring. Myself and family hope that you all stay safe and well. Take care. God bless. Sent with much love.
My mother, aged 99, spent 10 days in respite care at Adeline House Care Home. She was comfortable, well cared for and happy. She remarked on the efficiency and the friendliness of the staff and the friendliness of the other residents. She enjoyed joining in the activities and I understand there was a pantomime and a Christmas party. I am so pleased that the staff involved Mother in their social activities. When she came home she looked bright and happy and had regained some of her 'sparkle'. I shall certainly be looking to Adeline House for respite care for Mother in the future knowing she will be safe and happy-making friends.
Father went to home for end of life care. Service, support and information provided to him and family was fantastic.
I would highly recommend this facility. It is a very warm and friendly place. All the care staff were outstanding and took very good care of my mum, not just physical care but gave emotional support, love and hugs. Daily activities meant my mum mixed with other people and had fun and enjoyment. The home is very clean and welcoming.
I cannot praise the staff enough for the love and care my daughter received in her last few weeks of life. She said she felt like she was on holiday, I'm not sure there could have been much higher praise from her. She had some weird dietary wants and the kitchen catered to her every whim. I know she wasn't the easiest of people at times, but the staff were nothing but kind and patient with her. She had reservations initially, being only 40, but she need not have worried, for one thing, she adored many of the older residents, but the staff virtually made her feel like one of their own. Everyone was also so kind and supportive to myself, they always find time to have a chat if it was needed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Adeline House to anyone, my daughter being there made her last few weeks bearable, and they have still offered me support after her death.
Could not be any better. They have entertainment and trips out.
The care that was given to my nana was great. The staff are caring, professional and have been such a huge impact. They deserve all the credit. They helped so much in such a short space of time and each team member is valued and they all need thanking. Such a warm, welcoming family home. Thank you for all the support.
My Dad came to Adeline House for respite care. He was there for just one week and our family decided to move him to another care home as we were not satisfied that he received the relevant care for his dementia. in my opinion, he was not given any stimulation and his physical and mental health & well being worsened as a result of the environment he was in.
This home really is home. The staff are like extended family and make everyone welcome. From the cleaners to the management, everyone plays their part and goes out of their way to make sure you get the respect and dignity you deserve.
My relative has been in Adeline House since August 2017. During this time the staff have assisted her with doctors, hospital, dentist and optician appointments. I have always found the staff and management extremely helpful and am very grateful that my cousin is in a safe and friendly environment, being looked after and cared for.
My elderly sister-in-law spent the last 10 months here. Although frail, having twice faced end of life care in Hospital, she was transferred to Adeline with a life expectancy of less than 4 months which they extended to 10 months. Not an easy lady to care for. Gentleness and patience was their key. If she wanted to wander about at night, tea and food would be provided. Following several toilet accidents, I remarked to staff members cleaning and re-dressing her that they had quite a job on their hands. The reply was that it wasn't a problem, there was only a problem if clients were not able to go. Staff were alert to whether clients were just tired or actually unwell, calling a GP or an ambulance as appropriate, and keeping relatives well informed. Her weight increased from 4.5 stones to just over 5 during her stay there. Although skin and bone, her lack of developing bed sores was purely down to the care and attention of all staff. They all seem to work as one team.
From the moment my mother-in-law was placed in care at Adeline House in Thorne her care needs were dealt with in every possible way. With love, kindness and compassion from the manager, nurses and carers. Each and every one cared for her in their own way but at all times dignity and respect, nothing was to much bother and the caring attitude was superb. I would recommend this care home to everyone should the need arise. Many thanks to each and every one at Adeline House. God Bless.
My mother has lived at Adeline House for a number of years and has, to my relief, always been content there. The facilities have generally been good with certain exceptions, such as poor recovery of laundry and lack of a professional chef, but since the appointment of the new manager, the day to day running of the home has improved immeasurably. The home is clean, without odour. The food is much improved. The home appears full of love and happiness. My mother is happy and content, therefore, I am happy and content. Thank you for that appointment!
The staff are caring and helpful can't say enough to praise the work they do. The manager is always willing to talk to you. The food looks to be good and wholesome. The facilities are clean. Some of the nurses are a little brusk but efficient. Overall it is the care staff that make this home a home with care.
In a year when I had breast cancer, my father developed pneumonia and died on the 15th of August, it was devastating to be told in November that my my mum had terminal stomach cancer. It was decided that the 24 hour care of Adeline House was our best option. From our first visit we felt the caring and kindness that we would receive day and night from the wonderful staff. They went out of their way to spend time with my mum and me. We were given plenty of information, various food was tried in an effort to tempt my mum. She was nursed in an atmosphere of gentleness, patience and understanding, from everyone. The last few weeks of my mums life were so hard for us as a family but they would have been harder without Adeline House and it's caring staff. The staff would say it was "what they were there for". It was, but they did so much more, my mum died on the 17th of December.
My mother has been in Adeline House at Thorne for several weeks suffering form a severe stroke which has disabled her severely. The staff are brilliant and they all have a warm, caring attitude. Every time I have visited Adeline House, I have witnessed the staff treating her with respect and dignity. The home is always clean and tidy which gives us confidence. Thank you so much Adeline and all the staff.
