My wife has been in the nursing home for two months with an outlook of being a permanent resident. I visit her every day and have noted that she is very contented. I am very satisfied that she is being well cared for.
Cannot thank the staff at Alexandra enough for all the care they provided for my late Grandad. Everyone was amazing with not only him but our family too. He didn't have a bad word to say about the staff, they always went above and beyond, treating him with dignity and respect right up to the time of his passing and afterward. The staff supported the family in one of our hardest times.
Alexandra Nursing Home is a fantastic facility for the care of my mother. Very well run with caring and understanding staff, great food and very clean and tidy.
My late brother was in Alexandra Care Home for over 6 years. The Management and all the staff have all been brilliant in looking after him. His special needs sometimes tried everyone’s patience, the Alexandra is what all homes should be like. The staff always welcoming kind and thoughtful, the food is quality and the cleanliness is spot on. Nobody looks forward to putting a loved one in a nursing home, But from day one I had no worries, I wish to thank everyone at Alexandra for looking after my brother,
The staff are so friendly and helpful, every one of them from housekeeping, care assistants, nursing staff, activities up to management look after my wife with care and dignity nothing is too much trouble. It's a wonderful nursing home that cares for residents and relatives.
I am so pleased that my son is a resident of this lovely care home. I have friends who are residents in other care homes who are not as good as his one. It gives me peace of mind he is cared for in every possible way, with good food cooked by a very good chef. The carers are very kind and cheerful and will sort out any problems. The rooms are well furnished and very bright; the walls have interesting pictures and lovely ornaments on the shelves. A very good manager who listens and sorts problems very kindly. A first-class care home - five stars.
Mum had been a resident in Alexandra Nursing & Residential Home for a period of three months after a lengthy period of care at home. During her time there and despite her terminal diagnosis, her mental health lifted as a result of the connections she was able to make alongside the care she received from the dedicated staff. Nothing was too much trouble and people went out of their way to ensure everything was done in a professional way. Staff's determination to make a difference in the lives of those they care for creates a wonderful ethos; something that any family member faced with the agonising decision to place their loved one into a home needs. Warmth, understanding and humour are visible in the many interactions that occur on a daily basis; this was also extended to us, as family members. I would, without reservation, recommend Alexandra to anyone seeking peace of mind in what can be a difficult time.
The staff are excellent with my nan, really well cared for and looked after. My nan seems really happy with the care, the food and the hygiene. I appreciate everything the staff do for my nan. It's like a home from home. She has everything she needs.
My husband has been here since February, staff are brilliant with him and is well looked after, nothing is too much for them. He is kept clean and well-maintained and the staff always offer you a drink and a sandwich.
I cannot recommend the home and staff highly enough. They have gone above and beyond to accommodate my dad and us as a family whilst Dad has been living with them. I don't think anyone wants to think about placing their parent in a care home but from the moment I entered the home I knew that the staff were what made the place special.
I cannot recommend Alexandra Care Home enough. My father was a resident for eight years, and throughout that time, he was cared for to the highest quality. All the staff were caring and professional, knowledgeable, empathetic, supportive of both resident and family, helpful, kind and good-humoured, and the food was excellent. They provided a caring, safe environment for my father in his last years, and I couldn’t thank them enough for all they have done - they are stars.
This care home is by far the most amazing. I have had two family members cared for here. They go above and beyond to accommodate everything needed for their residents and family. All the staff are so amazing - the care they all provide is outstanding. It is like no other care home I've been in, and I've visited over 12 to find the right one! It's more of a big hotel with everything your loved one could need or want. I would most definitely recommend this care home and have done so in the past. I can't thank the staff enough for everything they have done over the last nine years.
My brother has been coming into Alexandra Nursing & Residential Home for the past seven years. For me, personally, I feel that he is treated with respect and dignity. The staff are friendly, in particular, the manager has always tried her utmost to provide a fantastic service, being professional as well as compassionate to my brother's needs. I am also made to feel welcome as a visitor. A baby monitor was bought especially for him as he can't shout out or raise his voice.
This is how every care home should be. Compassionate, caring, understanding, well-led and you feel like part of the family. The manager and her amazing staff looked after my mum in May until she recently passed away. Nothing was too much trouble. They fed me whilst I was with Mum in her last days and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Everyone is a friend at Alexandra and not just a resident. I would highly recommend this home to anyone thinking of nursing care for their family members. Thank you to all of you.
My mum was placed in this nursing home coming up 12 months ago with dementia, the care and compassion from the staff is outstanding. Everyone is always welcoming and polite and treats everyone with dignity and any problems you are contacted immediately, you could not wish for any better help and understanding from any of the staff. They are all wonderful.
My partner moved into the Alexandra Nursing Home following a very lengthy stay in hospital due to multiple strokes and he has now been there 5 weeks. His needs are quite complex and I have to say I could not have asked for these to be managed any better than they are being now. The management team, who are excellent, ensured I was fully involved in his care plan and have made sure that this has been stringently executed meaning my partner's condition is the most stable it has been since before his 1st stroke. All the staff are knowledgeable, dedicated, caring, and kind, nothing is too much trouble for them for not only my partner but me too. They have made the most difficult of circumstances in which my partner needed to be in a nursing home easier to bear. All Covid guidelines are followed to the letter and I am confident that he is safe and well cared for. I cannot thank them enough.
The Management Team and all staff are amazing! Every time I visit it's evident that everyone is dedicated to caring for all. My family and I live in the North East of England, so can only visit every couple of months, and the staff keep me updated with my grandmother's health and wellbeing, assist with WhatsApp conversations, as well as send emails and photos. My grandmother is so happy and settled and this gives my family and I such a sense of happiness knowing that she feels like this when we live so far away - and this is all down to the wonderful group of people working there! The care home and environment is so welcoming, warm, and homely and my family and I recommend it to anyone.
I go to the Alexandra 5 times a year for 2 weeks at a time. I think this is my ninth or tenth year at this home. They always make me feel welcome, the staff are very nice if you ask them for something they will do all they can to help you. The food is lovely since we got a new manager we have more fresh food, lovely. Me, I do my own activities plus I do take part in the activities in the home. And when it's time to go home they wash all my clothes and pack them away.
My mum was admitted to the Alexandra Care Home on Wednesday 28th September 2021 from hospital for Respite. On my arrival, I was met by a member of staff who was wearing PPE. I was given a lateral flow test before I was allowed in the building. After my test, I was shown to my mum's room which was very clean and a nice room. All corridors are kept clean and tidy. While I was there staff were always coming in to check on mum giving her drinks and monitoring them on a fluid intake chart. 2 members of staff came and stood by my mum to relieve her pressure areas. All staff I met that visit were professional compassionate and caring in their role. My mum is happy to be staying at the Alexandra and I am very pleased how my mum is being cared for. I could not have found her a better place to be. The food is good and my mum seems to be eating fairly well. I would recommend the Alexandra for anyone who needs care for a relative who would be cared for by a dedicated compassionate caring team and manager.
