View Full Details of Moorgate LodgeMy mum moved into Moorgate Lodge in January from hospital following a fall at home. From our first initial meeting/visit to the home, we were made to feel very welcome and felt that Moorgate Lodge was the place that would meet our mum's physical, social and emotional needs. The home manager was very warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. I knew her aim was for her staff to deliver person-centred, evidence-based care to my mum. Which they did and more. Mum received a high standard of care from all members of staff. I stayed with Mum during her last night and I witnessed a high standard of care delivered to Mum with empathy and compassion. The home is tranquil but also has many activities to choose from, well furnished and very clean. Thank you to everyone at Moorgate Lodge.
Since our mum came to live here (2 years, just over) we have had peace of mind that she is well looked after and cared for. All staff are lovely and friendly and are for the most part consistent in caring for our mum.
The above home is like heaven to my uncle and he is looked after by first-class staff and nothing is too much trouble for them.
My mother moved into a very comfortable, good-sized room with a patio door. We created a small garden area for her where she watches the wildlife on her bird feeders. As she is virtually bedbound, this is a pleasure for her. Nursing and caring needs are well taken care of. The only downside being the lack of social interaction. We as a family visit daily, but other than that daily activities or interaction from staff is limited. I appreciate Mum is not able to participate in games, quizzes etc but a little conversation would be all we ask. Staff converse with family when we are there.
The staff are very friendly. Clean, welcoming, and well-looked-after environment. Lots of nice activities for residents.
Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful all the time, lots of activities, decorated nicely. Very well-kept place.
My Grandma has been in a care home now for quite some time. She moved from a previous care home that had closed down. I am so pleased with the level of care that she receives. Every need is tended to fully. It is the little things that really do mean a lot. Her hair is washed, her nails cut and her chin hair shaved. This makes my Grandma feel as normal as possible and we notice she is always very well put together. I am very happy with the level of care she gets here. Thank you.
Well looked after.
Lovely place. The staff are very friendly. Service users want for nothing. Good entertainment. Very clean. Mum seems happy.
Moorgate Lodge is a lovely warm, friendly place my Mother-in-law is very happy there. The staff are fantastic. The activities are brilliant. Love the place and people.
We have found Moorgate Lodge an excellent place for my wife's uncle. The staff are 1st class and very friendly and always there to help you and the facilities are 1st class.
My mother was in Moorgate Lodge for two and a half weeks nursing and end-of-life care. Without exception, the staff were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate and open and frank. They handled all the end-of-life care with a local hospice and went to great lengths to ensure Mum was clean, comfortable and pain-free in her final days. They also ensured we were well-informed at all times.
My mum transferred here for palliative care, the staff were wonderful. My mum's passing was dignified and calm, she was comfortable and her passing was peaceful. I would certainly recommend Moorgate Lodge. I an my family thank them so much for our mum's care.
My mum was put in this home in September 2023, until she passed away earlier in March 2024. The care and attention she received were excellent from day one. The staff from the manager down to the cleaners was 100% all the time. My mum never wanted anything. The cleanliness at the home was terrific and the care staff and nurses were terrific. The food she received was always very good and had so many choices. As a visitor, we were always made so welcome by all the staff. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a permanent home.
Having to choose a care home for a parent is so very difficult. Did we choose the right one - yes we did. The care and commitment of the staff was absolutely wonderful, they cannot be thanked enough. Dad was treated with great dignity throughout his stay, right until the very end. Thank you.
My experience is as a visitor and not at meal times so I cannot comment on food and drink, but my sister had problems eating and drinking and the staff were very good in coaxing her over this period. All the staff I have met have been very patient with all the residents as far as I can see. The home is very clean and the management very approachable. I cannot comment on value for money as this is dealt with by another member of the family.
Very well-managed home. Nothing is too much trouble. Friendly, feels like home-from-home. Great support for all the family and kept well informed about my dad. A very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere throughout.
Moorgate Lodge provided my mum with a safe and caring place for the remaining two months of her life. Mum repeatedly said how much she liked the staff caring for her and appreciated the calm place her room offered. This was visible in how contented she looked, and we as a family cannot praise enough the Lodge team who showed a considerate commitment towards providing a high quality of care. This provided the opportunity for us as a family to spend priceless time with out Mum and leaves us with a set of memories that will help us come to terms with our loss.
Moorgate Lodge team are diamonds. The best a nursing home can be - they even came to my sister's funeral in their immaculate blue uniforms. They knew my sister's needs and catered for her every need in the short time she was with them (since March 2023). We only wish it could have been longer - not only did they care for her, they cared for us. We became their family, they became ours. We shall miss our sister, we shall also miss all at Moorgate Lodge - diamonds in every sense! Thank you!
After a lengthy period in hospital and other care facilities, with varying levels of standards of care, my sister-in-law was fortunate to be allocated a place in Moorgate Lodge several weeks ago. Her care has been exceptional, with all staff seeming to have got to know her well and responding to her needs. Despite her double incontinence she has always appeared to be clean and comfortable. More importantly, she is happy that she is 'home' at last.
