View Full Details of Alexander Court Care HomeI really want to appreciate the care and love the staff and management of Alexander Court Care Home are giving to my husband. They are neat and attentive to his needs.
My mum was a resident here for just over 3 years until her death in September 2024. The care she received was excellent. The nurses and carers were lovely and couldn't do enough for her. She, unfortunately, due to dementia, didn't know anything about where she was but I'm sure if she did she would have felt the same.
Very good care in this home. All staff very helpful and caring.
It's lovely here, very friendly staff. Everyone is lovely and nothing is too much trouble.
Mum was in the nursing home for one and a half years. Happy and well cared for by all the brilliant staff. She was dubious about going in the home but quickly settled and was loved by all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, they used to sit and chat with Mum whilst she reminisced about her past.
Staff and management are very friendly and obliging and helpful.
I wanted to commend a nurse who works a lot of day shifts. He is really friendly and chatty with my mum and quite clearly genuinely cares for her.
If anyone is wondering if they should choose this care home I would tell them that they would be hard pushed to find somewhere like this that puts a capital C on care. This residential home really does care about the people who are living here, my dad had to leave home because we could no longer provide adequate care for him, we were very sad and reluctant to have to do this, but since being here he has been so well looked after by all the staff, from the manager, the receptionist, the chef, cleaners, they all know him by name and all make him feel loved and at home. The food is great and plentiful, it's always kept clean and have helped me and the rest of my family with any problems like appointments, booking taxis, delivery of furniture etc. I would recommend this home to anybody who is unsure about such a large step in anyone's life, when we all become old and fragile we all need somewhere safe and loving like this.
A wonderful experience from the first 'hello'. Our mum was in the late stages of terminal cancer and we could no longer care for her at home. After a search of the local care homes, we selected Alexander Court Nursing Home. The choice was easy to make once we had met the manager and her team of nurses, carers, and support staff. New owners, fresh policies, a gifted and truly caring manager and team, have changed Alexander Court into a wonderful home for residents and patients needing 24-7 care. My wife and I were at the care home every single day and saw the consistency of service. Mum was very happy, comfortable and received such warm, personal care. The facilities were always clean and tidy, the kitchen was immaculate and the cooks produced lovely meals and even special requests to ensure that she was eating fresh and healthy meals. Thank you to the manager, another particular member of staff, and all of the nursing and care team, for your extraordinary service. A wonderful care home!
I needed to move my auntie from a nursing home in a different city after her husband passed away to be nearer to family. Alexander Court was recommended by a friend and after an initial visit, I decided to move my auntie here. Her care became more urgent after a severe stroke last Nov (2023) and she was cared for with dignity and comfort until she passed away recently. I would recommend this care home, especially after the change in management.
The staff of Alexandra Court Nursing Home gave a superb standard of care to my husband in his final days. They were approachable, friendly and willingly did everything that was needed. I could not imagine there being better care anywhere else.
An excellent overall standard, including all the categories below. There couldn't be a better description than the one you use to describe your organisation's ethos - "the kind care company".
Since Mum has been at Alexander Court her cognitive behaviour has improved due to the friendliness of staff, residents and the activities team. I feel happy in the knowledge that Mum is safe, well cared for and in a clean happy environment.
The staff are very caring and always willing to help. The facilities and activities are arranged with the residents in mind. The overall feeling of this nursing home is that nothing is too much trouble.
My mother is fortunate enough to have two lovely carers who are compassionate and genuine. Mum also loves her food. However, there are issues we've had to report relating to the provision of basic care, training and monitoring of staff. Mum has been left in her wee all day, hair unkept with dirty bedclothes and nightdress. When we buzzed for a commode, Mum was agitated, it took over 30 minutes and then we were told a commode wasn't available. Spectacles, TV remote and buzzer are left out of reach, we even found her pill on the floor. She also went hungry one day apparently she couldn't choose between two options. Staff can be abrupt when asked questions. Nil feedback from doctor visits. Weekends are worse than weekdays.
I have been a resident at Alexander Court for three years and have always been well looked after by the friendly staff. I very much appreciate the private facilities in my room but these are a little well-worn.
Staff are good, but a high turnover of recruitment. Cleanliness is very poor in rooms. Meals are not really suitable for the elderly.
My mum is a Resident at Alexander Court and is 101 years old, soon to be 102. At the end of January, she contracted a severe chest infection and was very poorly. Unfortunately, I was on holiday abroad and could only contact by telephone, my degree of concern was such that I was preparing to fly home early. The care and compassion provided by the carers to mum at this time was excellent. Throughout the four days that mum was very poorly I and other family members were in daily contact with the Carers and despite their busy schedule they always found time to talk and update us and confirm mum’s latest condition. Considering this was a very stressful time for me personally and the rest of our family their reassurances made the situation from a considerable distance away more bearable. I am very happy to say Mum has recovered now and continues to be cared for with dignity and respect by the home.
This home is very clean and quiet and very comfortable. Excellent care and loving.
